_-playero-_
I'm selling my current Acer to my sister, and planning to buy a new one. Problem is I'm kinda in a budget. I'm looking for >512MB RAM, >60GB HDD, WLAN and if it is possible, DVDRW. These are the things I need. Now about the processor, I'm not really sure. Getting a Core Duo is kinda expensive, and I don't know if Pentium M is better than AMD Turion 64. I want to avoid Celeron if possible, cause my current laptop has a Celeron and well, I can say it's quite slow sometimes. Maybe it is my experience, but you guys are the experts so please advice me. Send me links plz! Also, my brother is going to Miami next weekend so if you can get me deals there as well.. kthx ahead
Pranjal
The current Core2 Duo models are having 4MB cache and they give much better performance than AMD's Turion64 which can only have a max. cache of 1MB. To add, 667MHz DDR2 RAM is the standard increasingly being adopted in machines with Core 2 Duo , but with AMD Turion64 it is still not so common. So, if you want to go for performance and reliability and not be fazed by AMD's 64 bit claim, Core 2 Duo beats AMD Turion hands down. I will definitely recommend Intel Core 2 Duo to you because with a little extra budget you can see your productivity levels go up by a huge margin. Good Luck Edited November 27, 2006 by Pranjal
