Groovy
Was a sweet ass movie. Just got back from it with a few friends. We were the only ones in the theater too, weird, but I guess it's to be expected, with the whole thanksgiving thing today. Anyways, the movie was hilarious, the tunes were great, plus JB has a dream were they get the pick, and rock so hard, a man's head explodes that part was the sh*t, as the one with the god that is Dio, I cheered when he showed up. Anyways, forget your family get togethers, and go see this movie.
ToyMachine
This movie looks like some unfunny sh*t. Maybe that was the reason you guys were the only people in the theater.

darthYENIK
I was going to see it yesterday, but didn't, monster migraine. I got the soundtrack, which is pretty nice, beelzeboss being the best. All I've heard of people who've seen it (that aren't D fans), is that it's much funnier than they expected. TenaciousD.
There's another tenacious d movie? What are you talking about? Where did you get that idea! I think Jakebraker means the HBO episodes.. Yeah, he must mean the HBO episodes. /tenaciousdfan moment The first episodes were in 1997, rest was shown in 1999. There were 6 episodes in total, The Search for Inspirado, Angel In Disguise, Death of a Dream (the one with Sasquatch) , The Greatest Song In The World (the Tribute story), The Fan (Lee) and Road Gig (with the un-released song Jesus Ranch) You can get on on the "Tenacious D: The Complete Masterworks" DVD

TheDude5000
There always has to be that one dou- Eh...not worth my time. Anyway, huge D fan over here. I have the Masterworks DVD, watched it all last spring, and this spring too. I just came back from seeing the flick, and it was f*cking great. Most of the time, someone takes something that has a loyal fanbase, and they f*ck it up and repackage it for a mainstream audience. This was not the case at all. Liam Lynch(who directed the HBO shorts which I've seen dozens of times) directed this one. As a D fan, this flick has everything you could ever want. They were really thinking of the fans when they worked on this one, and I'm thankful for that. Sasquatch, the Search For Sasquatch(that was a kick-ass in Search Of), Satan, an almost unrecognizable Lee, one of the governement agents that was at Jesus Ranch(he's a security gaurd at this time), and others are seen in the film. There are plenty of references to the HBO series as well. This movie f*cking rocked, and I can't wait to see it again. Oh, and has anybody bought the new album? The limited edition looks f*cking great. I'm picking it up tommorow.
darthYENIK
I've got the limited edition, and I must say, (in the words of the D) it's a cream dream, the pick of destiny and the poster of the D flying on sasquatches back, is worth it alone. But the music is kickass as well. I too have the masterworks. Bought it used from EB for $10, awesome deal. I love the shorts on the second disk. "YOU DON'T HAVE ANY MONEY!"
