matt27689
I got my pc like 2 or 3 months ago, and I just went to play a DVD as I'm thinking of getting Lost soon, and it says I need a DVD decoder.. I thought it came with PowerDVD...
Loman
I thought it came with PowerDVD, too. That's what I have. Make sure your drivers are up to date for your dvd-drive and make sure you have all the codecs you need, um... I can't recommend any specific DVD decoder, because I am using PowerDVD. gillies
Try VideoLAN?
Loman
What kind of graphics card do you have? Have you tried updating the drivers for it? If you have, try updating the drivers for your DVD drive, too. If that doesn't work, try different video programs (Video LAN is a good one). K^2
You could try making a backup with DVD Shrink, which allows you to remove encryption, and either burn it to the DVD+/-R or run the image file under DVD-ROM emulation. Prior to filing a bug against any of my code, please consider this response to common concerns.
ronlivings08
When I first got this comp, it came with Intervideo. After this comp crashed and I redid the whole thing pretty much I couldnt play DVD's either, even though I had a DVD drive.Went back and got InterVideo, and now I can play them fine. BTW-I was getting the same errors in WMP before I got InterVideo again. It was simply the CoDec I beleive, but either way I have it working now.Just try a trial edition to see if it fixes your problems if they arent already fixed my friend.
