cice
Well its Wii day in Australia, retailers are showcasing their Wii stuff. I must say after trawling through the major retailers catalogues and seeing the prices I can say that Nintendo are going to make an absolute killing just here in Australia let alone the rest of the world. The consoles price is great, but that's not where it stops the games are cheaper by about 20 bucks and then the accessories are also cheap especially compared to MS or Sony's stuff. Nintendo have placed themselves in a great position and it wouldn't surprise me if they win out this console generation. What's the actual price for the console in Australia? I've seen it as low as $388 and as high as $399 so costs as much as a PSP basically. What's more likely to be bought by parents for their kids? A Xbox 360 at $600 or a Nintendo Wii at $399? That's where Nintendo have the market worked out and why they are going to make a killing. I don't even want one yet I am excited about it, they just seem to be doing the right things and it pleases me to see that they will do well. Yeah, that ain't bad for the launch price. I was at Harvey Norman's on sunday, and they had the Xbox360 for $650 with games at about $110. I thought 'f*ck that, I'll wait 'till next Christmas'. But, under $400 for a Wii, that's tempting. Trows
Got mine today. Wii Sports, Wii play and Zelda. So f*cking fun. As great as I expected it to be as a party console. No dough this post will get questions and and maybe even some fighting.
jarjar
I'm thinking long and hard about getting a Wii rather then a PS3. There cheaper, and they will probably be getting GTA4 anyway. Does it use DVD's out of interest? Not like the GameCude, the stupid little discs, they we're good, but easily losable.

Trows
Is the Wii back compatible with GameCube games? I think so. Jarjar: it does use full sized dvds. No dough this post will get questions and and maybe even some fighting.

I won't buy a PS3 for sure, but I want a 360, and I would mind giving more 250€ for the Wii.
Mark
This sucks. The place I was getting it here in Ireland, a store called Argos, had Wii's coming in, but now since they sold out in Britain, the Irish ones are being shipped back there. Wankers!!! f*ckin raging at the moment. That's why people should pre-order Hmm..I might get one just for a laugh. Though really, unless I konw other people with em, I'll have to buy a fair few controllers for me housemates etc. Ah well. That's where the price goes up. Lame playing boxing games on yer own . anuj
Post your first impressions after you play some! Initial impressions: Very glad I spent that time there. I didn't open mine because I had to wrap it up for my brother, but I spent some time with the display unit at Gamestop. I admit, I was wrong. The motion sensing is not a gimmick, it is innovation. It's immensely fun for the initial period. I'm not sure how I'll hold up during marathon sessions, but it's great so far. Also, for the money I would have blown on a PS3 I can buy like every launch game and accessory for the wii. As soon as my brother opens his, I swear to God I'm going to create an assload of miis. I had a blast making celebrity/friend miis.

Jordan
Post your Wii Sports high scores here! I've got: -6 in 9 Hole Golf 219 in Bowling I recommend going through training before playing the real Wii Sports modes!
Trows
In the first Baseball training, I have 9/10 homeruns/out of the parks. ONE DAMN BALL WENT INTO THE FOUL ZONE. That one bowling training thing where each round the amount of pins grow is great fun. I SHOULD play Zelda more, but Wii sports is too damn fun. No dough this post will get questions and and maybe even some fighting.
Goodfella.
That's good to hear, I thought Wii Sports may have been pretty poor, but sounds like a cool party game. I can't wait to sit down with Zelda over the Christmas period. Picking mine up tomorow morning.
Jordan
I wish I could get 3 other people to come over to play Wii Sports with me. I can't wait for online play on the Wii.

Goodfella.
Kanney, if it makes you feel any better, I picked my Wii up this morning. There were more people in line for this than there were for the 360 at launch at my local game. Opened the box to make sure it's all there, sexy little thing isn't it. Got the Wii, a classic controller and Zelda. Looking forward to christmas now.

original gangster
Went to pick up a Wii, Twilight Princess and Wii Play with my mum this morning, brother's Christmas present. Of course I couldn't resist having a little go with it, so I carefully got it out of the packaging, set it up and popped the Wii Sports disk in. At first it's a bit confusing, I went straight to tennis training and failed miserably at it in my first few tries. Once you get the hang of it and know how to hit it, it gets insanely fun, Twilight Princess is right there in front of me and here I am playing Wii Tennis. I tried out all the other sports too, but I spent most of my time on tennis. Next up is Wii Play, it was pretty cool and it's great value: It comes packed with a free Wii-mote so if you're planning on getting a second one, there's no reason to not get this. It's much more of a training game though, it's great for getting used to the motion sensing but I doubt it'd be a game I'd play for very long. Spent about 20 minutes on Twilight Princess, wasted most of my time on Wii Sports and almost forgot about it. I was playing on a small sh*t TV so I couldn't get the most out of it graphics-wise, but I'm liking the new look. Riding Epona is pretty cool too, but that's about as much as I played. Can't wait until I can finally get into this awesome game. Probably the most fun I've ever had on a console before... everyone should get this. It's insanely fun. Quit teasing me ha ha. Due to the Holiday season I am bankrupt so I'll have to wait. Zelda is the first non-included game I want to get. I'll get enough cash this xmas but chances are they will be sold out.
Ghetto Prince
I own a 360 and a Wii and I must say that, I've barely touched my 360 since I got my Wii. That's not to say that I hate my 360 or that I'm not gonna ever play it again, but I am so pulled in by the Wii right now that it's consuming all of my game time. I can't wait to play GTA : Some Version on it. I can see me aiming my guns with the wiimote and using the nunchuck in a slapping motion to slap a ho! Btw, here is a cool fan site, dedicated to the Wii. http://www.wiidomain.net.

kingvercetti
I'm gonna pick up a Wii with birthday money probably, I was gonna buy a HDTV for £130 for my 360. Then I found out it was a HD PC monitor. Soo I'll probably be getting Wii, have to say it does look really awesome. I wonder why a lot of games have such bad rating on GameSpot? Look here and see how GameSpot rated Zelda: http://www.gamerankings.com/htmlpages4/928519.asp It's ridiculous...there's something biased going on over there when more than 50 reviewers say it's better.
