My friend works at Best Buy and I saw a preview of Madden on this Wii intro DVD they gave all the employees...it looks so greatly fun. Is the passing control fun to use and responsive? I like Nintendo, they always seem to deliver the most fun for the cheapest price, and like the longest games ever... And being able to download a back catalougue, it's just awesome. My friend missed out on buying a Wii because he works sh*t hours, and he had to work an hour before the Wii was released. Now, we have been endlessly trying and I have spent a sh*tLOAD of time helping him find a reasonably priced Wii for him to purchase. It has taken up my whole weekend. The other day I finally find a good, fair priced Wii (in regards to the others) and I arrange a meeting place in Southcenter (a mall place near here). Yesterday, he calls me up and says he can't go down there and buy the $350 Wii cause his dad is going to a wedding. I dont see how someone couldn't drive 10 miles and back before 7:00 when its 3:30 So I call the girl who has the Wii up and say I can't make it. I say 'I' can't make it, cause for some reason my friend wont call her and explain the whole deal. I forget about it and go on with the rest of the day. Today, now, I get a message from him claiming to call the whole thing off. WHAT THE f*ck!?, Now I am going to have to explain to the fgirl why I didn't pull out enough money EVEN THOUGH I claimed to have it all in the first place! I am not a messenger boy! He can call her! He explains to me that at the wedding, his dad was talking to someone who works at Toys R' Us and she said that hundreds of people havemn't picked up their Wii's, and that she will be handing our rain checks. Now, I don't see in any how that sentence makes sense. HUNDREDS of people didn't get their Wii's? I went there, there were THREE HUNDRED people waiting outside that specific Toys R' Us, there is no way that is possible! ALSO! They don't give out rainchecks on these! FIRST COME FIRST SERVE! I think this bitch just wants to f*ck with his gulliable parents. So now I have to call this girl up and explain to her the whole damn thing. No way am I helping him find something online again. Is the passing control fun to use and responsive? EA is like a drug. I need to seek help, I know... Anyway, the controls are responsive. Let me tell you how it all works. You hold the controller and pull it back toward you to hike the ball. Move the quarterback around with the Nunchuk joystick. On a passing play, there will always be a receiver that is the primary one, so in other words, if you hike the ball and then just throw the ball by doing a throwing motion with the Wii Remote (without hitting any buttons), it will throw to that primary receiver. A slow throwing motion will lob and a fast one will bullet. But what if you want to throw to someone else? Well, if you know who you want to throw at before the play starts, and it isn't the primary receiver, you can change the primary guy pre-play. Or, just hike the ball and tap the corresponding players button on the d-pad (or A button for 1 guy if there are 5 receivers) and throw. Running is fairly easy, but juking and stiff arming will take some getting used to. Defense is fun too, but takes more time to get used to it. Plus, my mom is buying the OTHER Wii from the same friend and his mom, but at retail price. When I asked her about it, she responded with "Oh, they already gave it away, apparently. She wanted to give it to her neice." Even though, my friend told me today that she is buying it. lol, i'm playing along anyways, just so I don't have to deal with any sorta sh*t. GTA3Freak-2001 Posted November 29, 2006 Share Posted November 29, 2006 The Wiivolution has just started hitting Ausland, I personnally won't be getting one as the revolutionary control schemes are lost on me due to physical reasons. I am wondering though is the controller as responsive with your movements as it needs to be, I just think going by past motion sensing technology's like Eye Toy etc. it wouldn't be sensitive enough to play a game like you would with a controller. Unlike EyeToy the motion sensing stuff is a major feature in majority of Wii games so its more important that it doesn't become annoying. So yeah wondering how it feels using the wiimote? By the way, I got 3 under par (-3) on the first 3 beginner golf courses today. Sure, they are beginner courses, but you get -3 and then we'll talk. I got onto that little tiny island just fine, but I overshot the ball from there and bounced into a bunker I somehow got the ball in hole 7 (first expert course) in two strokes. On stroke two, I nailed it in with the driver. I was like waaaaaaahhhhhh!!!!!!! I've hit the ball in about twice with a wedge on other holes, but this was the best. Oh, and I got -6 on the 9 hole course on Wii Sports Golf. Also got 675 points on the Wii Sports Golf training session target practice. Tchuck Posted December 4, 2006 Share Posted December 4, 2006 Tested the Wii at a store today. Man, I'm in love with it. When the girl gave me the controllers, I was like: This is it? This? So small and comfortable? And wtf? Is the nunchaku supposed to be this light? God damn it! First Wii Tenis. After sending a few balls out of the court, I managed to learn some of it, and man, it's really fun. Then Wii Bowling. I found out I really suck at bowling, at least the wii one. But it's a pretty nicely done game, the controls are perfect, and the miis playing on the neighbour lanes add something to the scenery. Wii Boxing. I had read a few bad reviews about this one, that sometimes your punch doesnt go through, that sometimes it does something else. Nevertheless, I found it great and loads of fun. Even my father was impressed with the way the character ingame would follow my movements in real life. Wii Golfing, very hard when you first start. Getting the ammount of power needed can be quite tricky, but it's a good time waster. Wii Baseball, tricky to get the timing right, a bit fun, I wouldn't play it for the entire innings, that's just insane Also played a bit of Zelda, all I did was fishing a bit, so I can't say much.
