LoMioPrimero
zmod2 imports selfgenerated 3ds files without producing error messages / prompts but doesnt show up any objects, the objects box remains empty. only materials get imported, which can be seen in the material editor. other 3ds files were imported how do i set up my 3ds (object hierarchy, names, object type, surface/solid/, units...??) for being imported without loss of objects? LoMioPrimero
since there wasn't any superquick reply i kept reading here and trying im-/exporting files... i read that zmod2 has (sometimes) a problem with importing 3ds which is unexplained until yet. but i've found a very simple solution by myself for importing any 3ds into zmod2. i remembered old version 1 of the ZModeler, which will be needed for my solution. it worked fine with all my 3ds files that i was unable to import directly into ZMod2, and could therefore be from interest for u others who didn't already find out: SOLUTION -> IF DIRECT 3ds-IMPORT INTO ZMOD2 WON'T WORK: -Step 1: Create your 3d-model in max or other cad-program. save/ export it as *.3ds. -Step 2: Import with ZModeler1, which always does this job (for me). -Step 3: Save As "normal" *.z3d file in ZModeler1 -Step 4:Open/Import so-called "old z3d-file" into ZModeler2 Ready. I admit that this solution isn't quite elegant, but works fine... Cin-Cin!
