MaxRabbit
Well, my post here got locked, I guess I wasn't clear enough. Here's what I asked: "I have a laptop and I no longer have the SA disc. I wanted to copy SA to my laptop from my PC, so both my friend and I can play. However, I copied the SA directory and the "user files" directory to the laptop and when I click on SA.exe it says "encountered an error and must close"... Therefore, I've obviously missed something to copy... I searched my PC for anything with "San Andreas" in it but found nothing, so what can I do so I can play it on the laptop?? P.S. I have a no-CD patch." And so I'm asking again, and clearing it up: I do legally own San Andreas. My parents just took it from me and they still have it but they didn't uninstall it. So I am still playing it, and still own it, and the disc is in my house, but I can't access it
Pranjal
Yeah I got you. Although you are having a legal copy and you may use a no CD patch on your legal copy, the hard fact is that discussion of a no CD patch is not allowed in this forum however legal it may be. That is the reason why it was locked last time. So, my advice is please take some pains in searching for the SA disc and go for a fresh installation on your laptop. Good Luck
jarjar
Two problems: Discussion of CD Cracks is against the rules And secondly, as stated by the user agreement and the protocol of using most software and games, you can only have it installed on one PC at a time. And basically, one a rule of thumb here, we don't help with these sorts of questions, as whether there actually heading down a path of doing something illegal or not. We have no way of knowing whether you actually own the game or not.

Demarest
Well, my post here got locked, I guess I wasn't clear enough. You mean that the moderator wasn't clear enough. Warez used to be a bannable offense. Nowadays, when somebody is just trying to talk no-CD, it gets locked. It was explained to you at that time however that without the disc, you're not actually entitled to play it on one machine. With the disc, you're not actually entitled to play it on more than one machine at a time. Forcibly going against such a lock is not good for you. Respect this community or leave it. How was I the first to report this?
Raindancer
Yes but legally if you "lose" your game disc you have to repurchase it. So you using a patch to play it without the disc isn't legal and since we have rules about warez and piracy we really cant help you. So either go and find your "lost" disc or buy another copy. I think its quite clear. Any warez talk is a no no. And punishble by death bannage. Good day and be well.
