GTA Vice City Stories Secrets and Easter Eggs

Recommended Posts

@RJX74 -

It hardly constitutes as an Easter Egg, just good continuity on Rockstars part. Which as we know has deserted them in other areas when linking GTA games and their stories.

Killing Phil Collins

I wonder if this is an Easter Egg or just a little secret in the game, but when you can buy access to the Phil Collins concert you will notice Vic is on the side. He is holding no weapons but if you switch to an explosive weapon you can throw it and kill Phil and the band members.

Found it on a youtube video.

Every time you hop on a biker angel the radio station is always "VCFL Radio"

If you die in the drive-by stance in "Jive Drive", once you hop in the taxi that takes you back to the airport, you re-enter the drive-by stance (For a short time and you can't shoot for some reason)

It's a glitch, I think.

I wonder, what was the point of the "Secret Apartment" in Ocean Beach? It's not like it's the Rockstar version of Insomniac Museum. It could've been.

What's the secret apartment?

Sure, I'll do that.

But do note that what I found was the PTGateaux mockery of JCDecaux, not the advertisement itself. It'd be best if ya changed the description to "PTGateaux" or something like that.

And also, please check the description of Ducum Inn.

I've got another batch:

"Special Fried Vice" is a spoof on Special Fried Rice:

"el pequeño cocinero" means I believe "the small cook". I dunno if "cook" in Spanish is similar to "cock" in Spanish, but it sure is in English:

"Libros Sucios" means I believe "dirty books" probably referring to adult book genre. And "Nâlgas Grândes" means nothing in Spanish. But without the accents, with the normal "a", it means “Big Buttocks” or “Big Butt”.

“Barber Black Sheep” not so obviously refers to the nursery rhyme “Baa Baa Black Sheep” which is common (and I think originated) in Britain.

It isn't the small cock it's the little fry cook.

I' not sure if this is an easter egg but in the manual booklet, there's an add on the backpage that says "Stop the invasion of foreign goods" then a little bit lower it says "Take a mallet to a Maibatsu today" and it has a picture of a logo being crossed out. I'm wondering if 'Maibatsu' refers to Mitsubishi because the crossed out logo may resemble the Mitsubishi but it depends on who you ask I guess. sigh.gif

Yeah, that makes way more sense.

The Concert glitch:

You can use your weapons during the bought Concert.

All of them.

You can snipe everyone.

Or kill everyone there.

Auto-aim could be used, but no crosshairs appear.

Sniper rifle could be used, but no aiming mode appears. So it's kind of useless.

The Lock-On can sometimes be activated. It works only with Collins. However, he has no COL so it's a bit useless.

The above line might not be right - I tested it only with AK-47.

Edit: No, all of them could be locked-on to.

Phil could not be killed.

Vic could not move.

No idea mate. I looked at his profile though and he does have MSN as well as other contact details so you could use one of them to try and get in touch if necessary.

Im not sure if this counts as an easter egg but the background in the menus is the same as the blue loading screen in vice city (when you go from island to island)

I'm not sure if this has been posted yet, but "Kill Phil" sounds like "Kill Bill" the movie.

Hyman stadium:

Directly under the front of the stage area, an unused "audience" tile can be seen. This is a 2-dimensional image, so you may need to adjust the camera angle when flying under there.

NOTE: gaps in collision-detection exist above the stadium's upper windows, so it's easy to get Little Willie through them and under the stage to view the above.

Rockstar made me buy the game twice for both systems  so I could see the unique easter eggs by my own eyes

Loved this game. I recently bought it and played it a lot. And I must say it was underestimated. Such an awesome game and I loved the story. Alot of people missed out on it I believe.

I recently discovered that background music that are playing inside the shops and the mall are actually from 1990 & 1991, not 1984.

They're arranged. You can listen to the original version at De Wolfe Music.

Songs & Artists:

  • "Golden Days" (1990) - Paul Westwood
  • "Heading Home" (1991) - Paul Westwood
  • "Shopping Mall" (1991) - David Molyneux
  • "Showroom" (1991) - David Molyneux
  • "Windsong - V.1" (1991) - Paul Field

Wow. Great find. I can corroborate it too. I pulled up the 5 songs on the De Wolfe site and compared them to the audio files for North Point Mall. I even spent half an hour or so entering and exiting the mall to confirm all 5 songs play in game. I grabbed the full versions off the site to add to my collection, I'm really glad you posted this. 13 years later and we're still finding stuff out. That's what I love.
