MaxRabbit
I have a laptop and I no longer have the SA disc. I wanted to copy SA to my laptop from my PC, so both my friend and I can play. However, I copied the SA directory and the "user files" directory to the laptop and when I click on SA.exe it says "encountered an error and must close"... Therefore, I've obviously missed something to copy... I searched my PC for anything with "San Andreas" in it but found nothing, so what can I do so I can play it on the laptop?? P.S. I have a no-CD patch.
Demarest
I have a laptop and I no longer have the SA disc. Then you can't play SA.
Pranjal
When you install GTA SA in a PC the game makes an entry into the registry and its information is added into the OS registry. Just copying the game files won't run the game, since the game information has not been added to the OS registry of your laptop.
Demarest
No GTA3D has ever touched my registry for any reason and every one HAS behaved liked it's a transplantable software.
Pranjal
No GTA3D has ever touched my registry for any reason and every one HAS behaved liked it's a transplantable software. But in my case atleast SA added itself into the registry. The game crashes if I don't add it.
MaxRabbit
I figured that is what is wrong... How do I add it to the registry? And Demarest, why do you say I "Can't play SA"? I can, because I have a No-CD patch.
GTA3Freak-2001
And Demarest, why do you say I "Can't play SA"? I can, because I have a No-CD patch. Yes but legally if you "lose" your game disc you have to repurchase it. So you using a patch to play it without the disc isn't legal and since we have rules about warez and piracy we really cant help you. So either go and find your "lost" disc or buy another copy.
