Here's something I would never hear you say, but considering the situation next week, it would be good. I doubt Cech's suspension would affect Chelsea much, and mind you, Liverpool have a very weak defense, so I think Chelsea can still win.

Liverpool defense is far from "very weak" and a recent dip in form is only temporary. They looked much better today. Some faults in the first half and not much to do about that equalizer but wins like these only boost us in confidence.

 

Next weeks Chelsea match can go either way but we've gotten over our slow start and now look like same team from last season.

 

Lucas, although I've been negative on him a lot has impressed. A lot of weight was put on the kid when he was asked to fill the Alonso void, and thats a pretty big feckin void.

Defintley yes but the only major problem i see with them is the ego's at the club, if they lose a couple of games or players like Adebayor and Robinho don't get a game then they can destroy the dressing rooms and ruin the team morale. However, if Mark Hughes can keep that under control, then most defintley yes.

I didn't see the Fiorentina match but watching the highlights, 1st half was absolute dreadful performance, and 2nd half was the complete opposite. Only problem is we didn't finish our chances. Both goals conceded could have easily been avoided and we should have had 2-3 goals but Fiorentina defended well.

 

Kind of bummed. I hoped that with our 6-1 demolition of Hull I thought we found our same pace and confidence that took us so far last season. But our squad is way too weak to be pushing for a legitimate CL and title push. Unconvincing result against Debrecen and no result against Fiorentina. And Lyon is better than Fiorentina. If this Saudi prince stuff is true then no doubt some cash would be injected into our measly transfer budget. Still a while off from January

Anyone here following the FIFA under-20 World Cup in Egypt? It's the second largest FIFA tournament after the World Cup itself, and it's a good oppurtunity to see who the next young stars of World football are going to be. So far Ghana and Uruguay are the only teams to progress to the round-of-16, with England struggling, losing 4-0 this morning to the Ghanaians.

Fiorentina defended very f*cking well. I kept on expecting Liverpool (especially Kuyt who seemed more fired up than every other person in the Liverpool team) to break the back line but Fiorentina put in one hell of a fighting defence of that 2-0 lead. I still think Liverpool will qualify with Lyon but it's gonna be a little trickier now.

 

The way people on this topic have talked about Wolfsburg I'm kinda concered about tonights game. I think that Dzeko/Grafite partnership may end up being underestimated. Especially with the way Ferdinand has been performing lately. Given we are playing at home, I can see a hard fought 2-1 win coming our way.

I'm not too worried about the match today, as long as Ferdinand and Vidic do their part and shut down the likes of Dzeko and Grafite. Let's be honest here, all Wolfsburg have is their strikers, every other part of the team isn't anything special (unless i'm missing something here). If our defenders don't f*ck up, and stick to the game plan of pressuring Wolfsburg's strikers, probably 2-0 or 3-0 is what I can see. But our defenders are the key to winning this match.

Not exactly, but I did see a couple of U-20 games when it was in Canada 2 years ago. It's pretty cool to see the future stars of tomorrow play. In my case, I saw Sergio Aguero play in the U-20s with Argentina, and look at him now.

Fiorentina have a really nice team. Loads of talent, Jovetic, Kuzmanovic, Montolivo... Don't know if they have what it takes to take the cup, but I can see them going far. At least they're a team to watch for the future.

Obviously Mascherano is a c*nt for doing that as that sort of thing should not be in our game and he should of been sent off and suspended for a few games, he's very lucky. This just shows a daft rule in the football world, if the officials miss the incident then after the game nothing can be done to discipline the player. I know i would of been pissed of if a Leeds player did that to him...

 

But i still can't see how you think taking the ball to the corner flag is a bookable offence, it never has been.
