Collins to Villa.....He is a great player, and we replace him with distinclty average Da Costa? confused.gif

Terrible bit of business, we need all the players we can get with such a thin squad.

Anyone here seen the Witzel challenge on Wasylewski yet? Worse than Eduardo's, he faces about 16 months on the sidelines:

WARNING: Graphic!

He said it wasn't intentional, but the Belgian FA disagree, they gave him an 11 match ban, plus a 6 month national team ban, they think he had previous with the other player, and he went over the ball deliberately, but not to seriously injure, just to let Wasylewski know that he was there, after a kick in the back he received a few years earlier.

Pretty boring final day. News up here was that a big signing was going to be made but nothing. The Ribery to City were gathering pace but nothing.

Everton got Johnny Heitinga. Mixed reviews about him. A lot of Dutch not having much faith in him, we will have to see.

City were linked with him last January, everybody on various City boards seemed fairly chuffed with him and thought he was good enough for the Premiership, I think he'll do alright, but then again that was last January he could've turned into a complete donkey by now.

Yeah, it was on the last page.

Sorry then, did a search for Wasilewski and witsel, but coldn't find anything, turned out it was just posted on the last page, I'll leave it up though, if that is alright.

Finally, Dunne has arrived at Villa. Great signing in my eyes, as well as Collins. Us Villains just don't know what to do with ourselves now, we haven't had this many options in yonks. The season is looking up, and my hopes are high for a top 5 finish this season, but with the recent form of Spurs and ManCity, it's going to be even tougher than last season.

Agree'd, obviously Man City are now favourites to break the top 4, but tottenham have serious depth in there team now aswel. Really glad to see we have options at the back now, two experienced centre backs aswel in Cuellar and Dunne. Things definately are looking up.

So you've signed Dunne from us now, he'll score 10 goals a season ok most of them will look like this on the score sheet

Dunne (og)

But still he'll be alright for you.

Man City V Arsenal should be a great game, though bloody nerve racking. Adebayor should get a pretty cold welcome, though I doubt he cares what we think anymore seeing as we're not paying his huge wages.

This games more important in the long run than the UTD match ph34r.gif

Arsenal will destroy them.

Hargreaves has been included in United's CL squad. Maybe he isnt finished after all.

I'm hoping for a very entertaining clash, OK City aren't firing fully yet, and Arsenal are, but City seem to be fairly rock solid at the back... for a change.

I just heard this on the Radio and didn't know whether to believe it or not, but this seems to confirm it.

All about Chelsea tapping up this young player called Kakuta and inducing him to break his contract with Lens back in 2007. In his first season at Chelsea he was the Academy Player of the Year and youth team top scorer. Seems a bit of a severe punishment for tapping up a player, something that many clubs have been guilty of.

Crazy stuff.

I think on appeal they will only miss out on one transfer window. Its good to see clubs getting punished though. icon14.gif

That is f*cking ridiculous. Irrespective of the ban imposed, I don't think this is going to stop any other clubs from doing the same. Singling out Chelsea is pointless. Although yeah, we'll probably get the ban reduced.

I can only think of united and roma being accused of this is the past, with solid evidence. About time something was done. Though UEFA looks like it's punishing english clubs for everything these days. Expect a ban for bad tackles ..

Just saw it on Yahoo.

Wow, seems like a very heavy handed move. Funny for the rest of us, pretty ban news for Chelsea fans. Hopefully it will encourage more youth development at the club.

Any excuse to punish an English team...

Crystal Palace have been accused of tapping up in the past aswell, they just had a fine, maybe they are clamping down on something?

This one's got the Chelsea conspiracy nutcases going again. I've heard Michel Platini blamed for the decision (he works for a different organisation), a national radio host who is a Chelsea fan saying he wanted the entire Chelsea team to punch Plaitini for this decision, and here the accusation that Chelsea are being singled out. Look into Roma's transfer of Mexes before spouting off.

Although he has nothing to do with this, that doesn't change the fact that Platini is a c*nt. He's probably just being used as a channel to vent their frustration into by the fans.

All that I have heard is fans complaining how biased people like Platini, FIFA are against Chelsea. So, what you heard might just be a joke as there is no logical explanation for it. You're just reading too much into it.

Look into Roma's transfer of Mexes before spouting off.

Since you've brought that up, may I remind you that it was only Mexes who was banned for six weeks, the ban was temporarily lifted owing to the appeal and then the appeal was rejected later on that kept Mexes out for 6 weeks as per the ban. Was Roma affected? No.

Compared to that, Chelsea has got a really harsh decision. If you cannot agree with that, I don't know how else to reason with you.

If they never tapped him up in the first place, then they would have no need to moan about being singled out by everyone. So we are back to square one there aswell.

And FIFA, UEFA, easy mistake to make, they end in the same two letters, and are based on the same continent. And doesn't everyone want to punch Platini for one reason or another? Easy mistake to make.

No, Platini isn't a c*nt, he's a man who has the best interests of football at heart who gets demonised by the English media because he points out some of the things the Premier League does which are bad for the game. As I said, there are a lot of f'cking nutcases who believe there is a secret agenda against Chelsea involving all levels of football.

The punishment for the crime that Chelsea have committed is set out in FIFA's rules, and Roma were effected in that they initially got the same punishment as Chelsea, ie. a transfer embargo, but had it reduced to one transfer window on appeal. Given that Chelsea haven't appealed yet it's a bit early for all this bollocks about dark forces defeating Chelsea.

It's not about tapping up by the way, it's about taking a player when he's already under contract at another club.

And why can't the player choose to leave if he wants to join another club? The player will, obviously, look out for his own best interests and if they don't lie in the club he's playing for, he has the right to look for something better. It was Kakuta who saw an opportunity to play for Chelsea and subsequently, broke his contract. I haven't seen any concrete evidence that proves we tapped or lured him as some are saying. Even then, I can understand the part where we have to pay compensation to Lens, but banning a club from signing new players is way too harsh.

He has no such right. If you sign a player who is already under contract with another club, then the punishment is that you are banned from making transfers for the subsequent two transfer windows, this is not a new rule that FIFA have pulled out of their arses, it's clearly laid out. Chelsea have tried this sh*t before with Mikel after we signed him and it cost them £1m, as well as doing it to some Leeds players but paying Leeds off as well, perhaps now Chelsea will learn to play by the rules that everyone else does.

What? Haha. So the whole definition of 'contract' is lost on you, I assume?

I'm not very well versed with football contracts and such, so I just assumed that there has to be a clause in there that would somehow help protect the best interests of the player and not just the club.

If that's not how it works, then meh, I don't really care but regardless of what FIFA's rule is on it, it's not fair to blame the club. It's the player who makes the choice after all, isn't it? I agree with the club having to pay compensation, but that should be all. I still say banning the club from making transfers is harsh.

I'm not talking about 'football contracts', I'm just talking about a contract in all walks of life. If you are contracted to do something, then you should bloody well do it, and that's pretty much the end of it. It's ridiculous how little contracts mean in football and how much power players have. Contracted for three years? Don't worry, you can get out of it after two and go somewhere else and pick up a larger paycheck and a big bonus to go with it.

Although it seems harsh, rules are rules. No matter how stupid they are, you have to follow them. Chelsea have broken the rules, so it only seems just that they are punished accordingly.
