Dzeko ain't going to Chelsea, no way. He just recently clearly claimed that he is 100% playing for Wolfsburg this season even though he wanted to go to Milan.

KoM who is the Vet Man United have signed? 29 and 23 aren't what I consider veterans and our latest possible signing is a 16 year old right back.

I'd say Larson is a vet.

Anyway I'm pretty much just translating a Norwegian article into my sh*tty English. Regardless when your about to hit 30 in football you are seemed as "old" unless your Italian .

He's not injured as that story was in the papers today.

He slipped on his Yacht and went to the hospital just for a check up in case he had concussion.

Doesn't matter how much they want to pay, Chelsea have rejected two bids already and there's no way he'll end up at City next season.

Meh, were not even gonna qualify, our national team are far too sh*t.

But I'll take back the neck breaking, tho I would find it good if he atleast got injured bad enough to miss atleast most of the next season.

Why would you want any player to get injured? I love seeing Arsenal play attacking football. I wouldn't want any of their players getting injured.

Selfish thinking I supose.

If one of the other big 4 gets injured players, arsenal will have a bigger shot at winning.

I know its really selfish of me to think like that. but then again, even if united did loose out rooney, they still got that bloody wonderkid tounge.gif

The best would be if not a singel player got injured and everyone was on their top form, then we would really see whose the best.

cause as we saw 2 seasons ago (when manu won the double) and arsenal were 1 game away from winning if they had beaten united. When arsenal and manu were at top form, no one could beat them.

Bloody birmingham.

(yes I know they lost matches before birmingham)

Xabi Alonso won't go anywhere. At least, he better not. He just isn't replaceable imo

I also hope Xabi stays in Liverpool, even though Real would be set with a player like him in the same position, I'd rather stick to Sneijder as CM. The team is good enough but my fellow Real fans are getting greedy and just want to buy without any reason. One of them went so far and said Ribery, David Villa and Silva should all be bought which is waste IMO.

Yeah but both of 'em are Everton fans anyway. The same Everton who United have become something of a feeder club to (Saha, Howard, Neville...).

Yeah but it goes both ways too, for example Rooney.

That's only one player though, wouldn't really call Everton a feeder club to United.

I could see that happening. Scholes will want first team football to see out his career and with fergies plans for a new team he'll want youth. I doubt neville or giggs will ever leave given their age (their experience is invaluable) but paul has one decent season left in him and he'll want to start games, not sit on the bench.

Oldham, however, remains his most likely destination should he leave...

Regarding some comments on the previous page. Cheap insults are for kiddies, if you want to throw around swear words, go act big infront of your mother and father, and secondly we don't need cheap comments either like "I wish he broke his neck", keep those comments to yourself please. They add nothing to the topic, and will just end up baiting members. We are here to talk football, football, and more bleeding football.

On Owen, I think he was worth a punt by Sir Alex. I'm warming to the transfer. Thinking logically, he has two main, central strikers/forwards in Berbatov and Rooney, however having a back-up professional footballer with experience in high pressure situations can be nothing more than a positive for Manchester United. Also Michael Owen is still only 29yrs old, he underperformed last year in a less than average squad, yet with Man Utd he'll have the quality around him in the form of players and coaching to maybe perform like he did a few years ago. I for one hope he has a great season.

Tevez has been linked even heavier with City now, saying "I don't think the United fans will see me as a traitor for transferring to Manchester City.", hehehe. A good time to be a City fan I'd say. Who knows about Owen, either he'll be a huge hit and find his pace again or he'll flop. United are a strong organization and SAF must know what he's doing, although I'd want to have Tevez rather than Owen. Surely he has more game left in him

Worst case scenario is that he doesn't live up to expectations and they're stuck paying his wages until January.

As a United fan, i'm stuck on two mindsets on whether he is a "traitor" or not. He wasn't starting or playing in a lot of games for United, especially last season, to that which he blames Sir Alex for, but then again, he rejected United's new contract. If he were to sign for City, I don't think I would view him as a traitor. I'm sure many of the United fans understand the situation that Carlos is in, that he wants to play first-team football, and he wont get that at United. One of the mistakes Sir Alex has made last season is that he hasn't played Carlos as much, rather opting for Berbatov.

I still don't understand why he associates himself with Kia Joorbachian, he should get rid of him.

I do agree with you that United should have Carlos rather than Michael Owen, I'm hesitating on betting that Owen will be a success at United, but with the quality of players that United has, surely that should help his confidence and motivation.

I'd love to have Tevez at Liverpool but he still wouldn't get any first team football because Torres prefers playing up front by himself, and I rate Torres much higher than Tevez. Unless of course Rafa fancies reinstating a 4-4-2 or anything with 2 up front but last time that happened with Keane it didn't work out as great. A 4-4-1-1 perhaps? Think a right winger would be a higher priority actually. But f*ck, Tevez up with Torres would be ace nervous.gif

Club friendlies start next week, yay.

We play 4-4-1-1 anyway with Torres and Gerrard leading the line and obviously that's a cracking partnership considering the goals they've scored, can't see Rafa changing something that seems to work, the only problems is trying to break those 'smaller' teams down, could Tevez do that? well he bagged a couple for United.

I can only see Tevez coming here if maybe one of either Alonso or Mascherano gets sold and then Gerrard drops back into midfield and then Tevez takes his role playing off Torres.

So Ronaldo got number 9, I don't see how it is really right for a more winger type player like him.

Still, hope he helps Madrid come a lot further in CL and win the La Liga as well.

Too late for me; I already made a £5 bet with a Liverpool fan at work that Owen will score on his debut. Needless to say, I've warmed to the transfer and remaining very optimistic.

We do have a good right winger in Valencia but doesn't he also operate very well on the left? I was thinking we should get another winger who can do the old Beckham/Giggs switcheroo trick but this season I can see Nani getting his chance and Zoran Tosic being blooded more in the Premiership. Both are still 22 so will probably fight it out to become Ronaldo's heir and Valencias wing partner; if neither cut it, a new winger will then probably be bought.

I just hope Fergie doesn't go out and buy an expensive winger like Silva (yeah I know I've endorsed him doing that in the past but I can go back on my decisions damnit! tounge.gif) to appease those fans that say "Oh we have £80million from Ronaldo to spend; SPEND IT!". Let's give some of our squad players a chance to prove themselves. Yeah this is a big gamble at a time when Liverpool are on our arses and Chelsea and City are still/becoming formidable (note the exception from the list...) but it may pay off. Plus we have enough talent still available to us to challenge effectively.

So yeah, here's how I see the team next year...

That right fullback position can also be filled by Neville and Rafael of course. Hargreaves place all depends on him getting back to full fitness and being as good as he used to be. If our first choice "lock" (bit of Continental terminology there) isn't available, Fletcher has proven himself to be a useful replacement. Carrick can also fill this position as his passing and crossing can set up some dangerous attacks.

Like I say, I'd like to see Nani challenging with Tosic for that position. I'm kinda not sure whether playing all three strikers would be that effective but Berba does like playing closer to midfield and moving the ball forward and Rooney is dangerous playing off a main striker. Should we need more muscle in midfield, Berba could push up to Owen's slot and Anderson could then be brought on to work alongside Hargreaves or Fletcher.

So looking at this, I believe we should be spending that cash on:

- Cover for Evra and centre-back. Not really that necessary considering Fabio and Evans are good understudies for thems positions but people: Gabriel Heinze is out of favour at Real. Let's bring him back, he can cover both positions.

- Perhaps a new defensive midfielder if Hargreaves doesn't come back to strength. Fletch is great but he does lack that certain quality to lead a team from that position.

- NOT a new winger.

Edit: Just watched Ronaldo's Madrid "unveiling". How pathetic, 90,000 people holding onto each and every one of this prima donna's words. Maybe I just miss him tounge.gif

You can say what you want about footballers but it is highly impressive how a handful of them become so fluent in foreign languages. I only ever learnt a very small amount of Spanish.
