I can't believe it; 5-0 down against Preston N.E. I am simply flabbergasted at our peformance. That could mean our chances of auto promotion just got slimmed. confused.gif

Jesus. You actually just self destructed.

A pity, I could've done without seeing boring old Birmingham coming back up to the prem again.

I mean, I got nothing against em, but their yo-yo impression is getting a little boring now.

Could do with some fresh blood.

A little disconcerting to see plymouth fall 3-0 today. Relegation is still a very real and present threat.

Chelsea 1-1 Arsenal

Our lack of speed and throwing away possession did us in and the deflection from Ashley Cole didn't help either. But we seem to have started picking up pace now. The equaliser was a fantastic goal from Malouda; taken perfectly by another fantastic air pass from Lampard.

Birmingham may not be a very good side in the premiership, but they are probably way too good for the championship. They may not go up anyway, Sheffield United and Reading may go up in their place.

Yes! Wolfsburg 2-1 Leverkusen. What an entertaining match that was, Grafite saved us at the 85th minute.

Great day!

Dortmund 2-0 against Bochum, Wolfsburg 2-1 against Leverkusen. Hamburg-Hannover and Hertha-Bremen still to come. smile.gif

..and in combination of piss-poor defending.

Wolves Promoted to the Premier League, Charlton Relegated to League One. Leicester back up to the Championship.

I'm glad Wolves are up again, I dunno why, but I've always had a soft spot for them.

I personally like Leverkusen but today was not time for them to be heroes, lol. Dortmund has been doing well on the last few weeks.

Anyways, bad thing was Bayern's win. I want Wolfsburg to take it easy for as long as possible before celebrating a win!

Go Hannover, go Bremen!

Their strike force was just way too good for all defences in the division this year, Keogh came in late, and grabbed a brace, which shows how much strength in depth they have up front aswell.

Fabianksi...God I hope Arsenal use him against us in the Trilogy.

Hopefully we will have our full back 5 ready for those three games.

Wenger's decisions making was really suspect during that game. I didn't like the look of the line up at the beginning of the game, Arshavin only bought on at 75mins despite being one of the only players not to actually play midweek and Nasri left on the bench until 85 mins and so was unlikely to have an impact on the match. We found ourselves needing a goal just to force extra time and both our two first choice strikers, Ade and RvP (although he was played out on the RM today), had been subbed off already. It seemed like Denilson and Diaby were both used to do the job that Song can carry out by himself, I can only think that he was left on the bench to act as a defensive cover if we picked up an injury back there, why he couldn't be started out in CM and then just drop back if an injury occurred I don't know.

This was our best shot at getting a trophy this season and after 4 years without one, we were in desperate need of it.

Heh, you can say the same for the second goal too by Drogba. tounge.gif

But that was an excellent pass and Drogba took it very well. Poor Fabianski was left alone to grab the ball and there was no way he could have stopped Drogba.

Anyone else think the refereeing was bad?

Didn't see the game but I heard a reporter on the radio saying Chelsea should of had a penalty after a clear hand ball from Silvestre. Also said that if the ref ainta seen it, fair enough, but the linesman was about 10 yards away. Sounds pretty shocking.

Actually, even Arsenal should have had a penalty before that when Ashley Cole pulled someone down inside the box. And quite a few yellow card worthy incidents were dismissed as just fouls. Overall, I don't think the refereeing was upto the standards one would expect in a semifinal match.

  • Pussyfooting around making big decisions like penalties, red cards, and all that. Most refs fall into that category.
  • Or they give every major decision that they can in order to get attention, Including penalties and all that. Examples include Howard Webb, Watch out for him giving a penalty at any opportunity in any major match he officiates.
Referees in big matches fall into one of two categories generally:

Agreed. Nasri was sick (I think), so he probably wasn't going to be at his best anyways. We lacked fluency and a lot of our players simply weren't at their bests. The pitch was terrible for such a world-class stadium. As said, I don't believe that the refereeing was adequate either. And I feel quite bad for Fabianski, who, on his 24th birthday, conceded a few cheap goals that sent our trophy chances out the window. Huge dent to the guy's confidence.

Hey, it's okay, as long as Wenger is producing an excellent crop of young players, who needs trohpies right? sarcasm.gifsarcasm.gif

Not directing that at anyone here but that seems to be the general opinion on most of the phone ins I listen to. Yeah there is a decent group of young stars at Arsenal but Wenger can't seem to grasp that you need experience to win things and that doesn't include the experience of has-beens like Silvestre.

It's not like other clubs aren't producing. United have shown some real young talent this year- Evans, Rafael, Fabio, Welbeck, Macheda, Gibson plus many waiting for a chance like Possebon and Tosic- on top of players like Manucho and Campbell doing well out on loan at other clubs but they also have a strong, experienced first team squad STILL in every competition so far.

Been too long for Arsenal in terms of winning a major trophy. I know they're still in the Champions League but they have 3 very tough games to get through to win that.

On the Match of the Day highlights it didn't show much of Nasri, and for me it was all Walcott and Eboue making the ground. Still, was a pretty entertaining game, and since they were the Gooners, I wanted Chelsea to win. wink.gif

Roll on Man. U/Everton today. I think Everton can give them a good game; they're in form and they have a brilliant midfield with and without Mikel Arteta.

Come on you Spurs! Sayonara Geordies! tounge2.gif

Yeah, see ya.

Proper bollocks match. Things picked up when Martins and Viduka came on. Martins and Gutierrez are probably the only players who I think can actually make something out of nothing when they have the ball. And Owen was sh*t. Again.

Oh, marky marky moo.

You know what the funny thing is? Those three points are relatively useless for us, compared to how much you needed 'em.

Berbatov took a terrible penalty, it was amusing.

the faces on some of them united fans was priceless.

Its allright, they dont need to take a coach home, they're already in London.

Savage made me laugh on Sky Sports News, while Berbatov was walking up to the penalty spot he says that's the fastest he's moved all game.

Oh yeah and GET THE FCUK IN.

EDIT: Woah, completely f*cked up my competitions.

Berbatov's penalty was awful. I really didn't think Man Utd looked like they wanted to be there.
