I can easily hope and guess Chelsea wins Barcelona. Even though they luckily (with Liverpool's awful defense on second half) beat us for the second time in a row in CL, I still prefer them over Barca any day of the week. Barca is my most hated team ever.

Luck? where was that? Chelsea outclassed Liverpool in the first leg, and were too strong for them in the second leg. You say Chelsea were lucky because of Liverpool's defence, so.. what does that make Liverpool? Unlucky because Chelsea's defence was equally as bad...?

In the first leg, Liverpool's defence was so much worse, and in the second, they were equal, so Liverpool's defence is still worse than Chelsea's. But that wasn't luck, it was a superb game, great for neutrals. If only premiership games could be that entertaining week in week out.

But Reina's stupid "save" for the first goal and the weak defending where Drogba was left in free space which lead to the third goal.

 

Plus, the lack of Gerrard made things worse.

But surely you can see that both defenses were equally as bad? Cech was at fault for Aurelio's goal, even though it was a good finish. He was so judgemental it was beyond belief. Ivanovic was at fault for Liverpool's penalty, you just don't do that in the box. Chelsea also defended bad for Kuyt's goal, and Cech made a number of errors. Both teams, defensively, were poor.

 

The point I'm getting at, is that you cannot say that Chelsea won the tie because they were lucky, because it was simply not the case.

Eventful two days for Liverpool, managed to watch the whole of the Memorial service, very touching. The turnout was amazing aswel.

 

What a game last night, Absolutely brilliant. I left my house while it was at 2-0, arrived at a friends party to see if at 3-3, So pushing everyone aside i concentrated on watching it until the end. Full of fantastics goals & effort. Why did Torres go off by the way? considering they needed goals i was suprised to see him not on the pitch & Babel coming on so late. Great game for English football though, if only every game had as much effort & heart as last nights.

Of course he hardly took the effort to jump for the ball, but you have to use your brains on such situations and if you are quick you can easily get a good shot at the other side of the goal while the GK is talking to his teammates. I remember a similar case with Robbie Fowler against Man Utd (in Man City) where he did the very same thing.

If Gerrard was playing then we wouldn't of gone 2-0 up as he would of taken both of the freekicks which led to the goals and they would have come to a different outcome, funny isn't it.

 

Although we could of done with him in the second half. If Reina hadn't f*cked up i reckon we could of won it, that goal seemed to deflate us a bit and give Chelsea confidence and in the end it was just suicidal defending.

To be honest he was sh*t, he should of put us 1-0 up with that early shot and only had one other shot after that, but you could say it was because he wasn't getting the ball but everyone else seemed to get it. It was just one of those days for the lad.

 

Then when Chelsea scored again Rafa probably thought the tie was over so he took him off but then we bagged those two goals which but is back in. It was really a game that a manager could not predict what was going to happen next even if you had your tactics spot on.

It's arguable, but to me, I thought Cech was a little too judgemental of what was going to happen, and a little too eager to punch the ball out to safety. I sat watching the game thinking another goalkeeper, or maybe Cech on a good day would have reacted and been able to deal with the surprise shot. But that's just me.
