Benitez today...oh my word, he said he didn't want to play any mind games with Ferguson, then he went on to read a big prepared list of all the problems he has with Ferguson off a sheet of paper.

He actually said nothing at all about not wanting to play mind games with Ferguson: "I want to be clear, I do not want to play mind games too early, although they seem to want to start." Note the "too early" part.

 

And I'm unable to see how Benitez, who made what the vast majority of people will see as some valid points, calmy and really, not at all furiously as the hyperbolic media have claimed, can be compared with Keegan, who lost it, started crying on live television five minutes after a game and then proceeded to act like a four year old.

 

It does seem a little odd though, Rafa getting involved properly in the mind games, haha.

Mmm...the fact he has compiled a list of all the problems he has with Ferguson and has read it out in public doesn't suggest the pressure's getting to him at all. The problem with Benitez trying mind games is that Ferguson invariably wins them.

Its about time that someone did it aswell because as a United fan it hard for you to see but Fergie does get away with a hell of alot than other managers like Gary Megson or Big Sam would never get away with th amount Fergie has said ove the past ten years or so.

The only thing from the recent past that Ferguson got away with that he shouldn't is that incident after the Portsmouth game where he said the ref "Was on their side", and that is due to FA inconsistency which, if we're honest does not always favour United

Cracking result today for Forest, a real 6 pointer we had to win. Tyson and Earnshaw seem to be linking up and scoring the goals, and I think that's about 10 away games we haven't lost in a row. Although we're still touching the relegation positions, we're only two point behind the sheep-shaggers, and things seem to be looking up.

 

Don't wanna hold my breath though, haven't got a clue if we'll survive or not, I just hope we can continue this good form.

What's worse is that the performance was a f*cking disgrace. I'll bet there'll be people saying the old cliché 'the only person trying for Liverpool was talisman Gerrard', probably only on account of him nearly scoring at the death... but to be honest, his focus was elsewhere and he wasn't in the game mentally, at all. Nobody had any urgency, and for me, that was our worst performance of the season - and that's saying something, considering how poor we've been in previous games.

I don't believe we never won in any way because of the comments made by Benitez - I don't think that caused the poor performance. I just think it makes Benitez look a bit foolish, because the mind games have backfired as we haven't done the business.

I actually don't mind what Benitez said; he was simply voicing his opinion on a fellow colleague. Still funny that it backfired on him though, although it's silly to blame a draw against Stoke on a few comments that the manager made.

 

On the bright side, you're still 4 points ahead of Chelsea, and assuming that we'll beat the Blues tomorrow, you'll still be at least a game in front. As long as you don't choke, you'll be fine.

Have you considered that stupid comments made by your manager in reference to a far superior manager may have an effect on your team's performance? It is very embarrassing to hear someone talk about not speaking about other clubs' business, then go on to speak for 5 minutes about an opposing manager, then continue his tirade a few days later after an embarrassing failure. Speaking with honesty, are you not worried about Benitez's strange behaviour?

I havent seen or heard anyhting about the match yet so i aint gonna comment on players performances but 3-0 for United is something that i did not expect what so ever. I was hoping for this to be a draw today as we drew with Stoke but United are coming into form so looks like were going to have to improve and soon.
