Man Utd seal deal for Serbian duo

 

Manchester United have completed the signings of Serbian pair Zoran Tosic and Adem Ljajic from Partizan Belgrade.

 

Left-winger Tosic and midfielder Ljajic arrive at Old Trafford for an undisclosed fee although reports claim a combined figure of £16.3m.

 

The 21-year-old goes straight into United's squad while 17-year-old Ljajic will be loaned back out to Partizan.

 

Boss Sir Alex Ferguson said: "That's it for us in the transfer window. We're done with our business this season."

 

Tosic - nicknamed Bambi because of his lean build - has appeared 12 times for his country and can play on either flank, having also starred for Serbia's Under-21 side.

 

He will join countryman Nemanja Vidic at Old Trafford and wear the number 14 shirt while Ljajic will arrive back at United for the 2009/10 season.

 

Ferguson said: "We have been watching Tosic for over a year and in that time, he has become a regular in the Serbia national team.

 

"He's a winger and we like wide players here at Manchester United, so we are very hopeful that he will do well for us.

 

"He hasn't played since 10 December, however, so he will need some time to adjust to the speed of the game over here and get used to the training.

 

"But once he gets himself accustomed to the pace, then I am sure he will play a part for us this season. Ljajic is another good player with real quality and he will come over to Manchester in time for next season."

 

Tosic increases manager Sir Alex Ferguson's options on the left wing with Ryan Giggs and Nani already battling it out in that position although in recent weeks Ji-sung Park has also played there because he is better than either player.

Yes there are a few deals floating around at the moment, and i think that if Bridge moves to City it will be a good move for both sides. As Bridge is perhaps one of the best english left backs at the moment.

 

And Saha is out for another four to five weeks, well i guess we know what position Everton will be looking for in the transfer window

Yes i reckon Defoe will be off, if not to Tottenham (which is his most likely place he will go) then to someone else.

Also with City it depends what players what to come. I mean you can have all the money in the world but if you aint got a team that a player wants to go to then it kinda popintless. What im trying to say is that City has previous history but what have they done recently plus its not like they can go after Casillas or Ronaldhino by saying 'Come join us we have a great squad which includes Stephen Ireland, Hammann etc' City kinda need to start small get a few decent players like Bridge etc then improve there league position, maybe get in the Champions league then you could lure bigger players. Because City wont be playing in Europe next year it looks like and which all big name player wants.

Yes they have just sold Diarra for 20 mil (he isnt worth that much but its not like Real Madrid are running out of money) But im guessing that Pompey may be in more than 20 mil but thats just my guess. Plus they still have to pay wages, maintain the stadium, maintain the pitch, and the rest of there expenses so that adds up a bit overall.

I get in from work just in time to Riera crack one in, quality goal. You think he's going to cross it but then he cuts back in a cracks it past the keeper. I am very surprised to see a pretty strong team today, so i'm happy Rafa is taking the F.A cup quite seriously.

Good to see another solid performance but with the team Rafa feilded today and the opposition, it would of been very disapointing if we had of lost. Good to see Torress back and scoring just gives me more hope. Good to see Rafa back on the bench aswell although he wasnt as animated as usually but that's what you expect after a op.

Liverpool's game was pretty frustrating, so many chances not get getting converted. My foot was twitching at some of the chances .

 

Good to see Torres playing and score even though Gerrard was waiting for him to catch up, you could see what he had in mind. Great goal by Riera for Liverpool. That's what Man United lack - superb finishing. If Cristian Ronaldo was in that position, he would have missed.

Good win again Plymouth but Wenger needs to spend, Denilson, Song, Diaby are all average at best. Also get rid of Gallas and add weight to our defence. Only need a quality CB like David Wheater or Matthew Upson. Also DM is much needed as well, Mark Can bommel would be great, along with Areta. Shayv Given as well

Bullsh-t, if it's anything like the West Ham deal, Tevez has already signed a contract until 2012, the only way it will be terminated is if United don't pay the agreed fee to MSI. He will now cost us £32m, that figure includes the fee we've already paid to MSI to have him for the last two years, the actual fee paid by United is somewhere around £22m, which he is certainly worth.

Tevez was on a 3 season loan deal which started what 2007?, so that's going to end this season. I've heard nothing from United, Tevez or his owners saying he's got a contract until 2012.

 

Just like Mascherano was on an 18 month loan deal, in which Liverpool have bought him.
