Big Sam at Rovers

 

Think it is a great move by the Rovers board here, ive always rated Sam as a good manager and a man who knows what he wants and how to get it. Worst possible draw for United, not just because Inter are a strong team, but Mourinho's record against Ferguson is incredible. Ferguson has achieved one win in about 13 meetings between the two. Very close ties for all the English teams I think, Roma Vs Arsenal will be the tie of the round.

In other, slightly less glamorous news, Blyth Spartans beat Bournemouth on Tuesday. They drew on the first leg and won the replay 1-0, I think it was. I was driving past their ground in a driving lesson the afternoon before the match.

 

They're playing Blackburn next round. Pretty good for a non-league team. Given Blackburn's recent form and current situation, I reckon they'll fancy their chances.

Real Madrid......this tie is easier for Liverpool than most think in my opinion, i'm confident of dumping them out of Europe just like Arsenal did a few years ago.

Real dish out an ass-kicking, i don't think they've given out arse whippings for about 2+ seasons . Plus they're sitting about 7th in their league.

 

We've beaten better teams home and away in recent seasons than Madrid.

Do not underestimate J. Ramos in this Champions League tie, his record in knockout football is second to none, including Benitez. They also have very little else to play for given how far behind they are in their league, and we all know how being nowhere near in the domestic title race can help a CL campaign (Liverpool 05, 07; Milan 07), gives them the opportunity to rest all their players. Liverpool hope to still be in the Premier League title race by the time the ties are played. Saying that, I would still make Liverpool marginal favourites to go through, given that they have the second leg at home, and Madrid's weaknesses.

With Huntelaar's addition they have an incredible number of Dutch attackers. Diarra's going to have one of the most impressive lists of clubs he's played for of anyone by the time he's retired. Chelsea-Arsenal-Portsmouth-Real Madrid, the great irony is that the only trophy he's won has been with Pompey.

Pretty dissapointed thats our reward if we beat CSKA (and tottenham win), i would much rather have the away trip to somewhere other than London. Will be an amazing night down at Villa Park when CSKA visit though
