Shame, I always thought he had it in him to get through the recent problems. At least he had the stones to admit he wasn't up to it.

I know what it is you f*cknut, I'm asking what the reasons behind it are. If you don't have anything useful or relevant to say why bother posting? It's not even as though you're expressing an opinion, you're simply stating a fact.

A bit late in replying, and Stefan has already pointed this out, but what the hell? How far is that stick up your arse?

Blackburn away tomorrow, hopefully the three points there. Whilst it's a shame about the 0-0 with West Ham, if you'd have said that come the first week of December we'd be top by a point, having only lost once and beaten Chelsea and Man Utd, I'd have snapped your hand (arm?) off.

Evra today banned for a further 4 games for the Chelsea incident last season. It seems that having a fight with someone who is behaving aggressively (and is outside of the jurisdiction of the FA) is worse than throwing a coin at a random potentially innocent person. Well done FA.

Perhaps, but the punishment is excessive, considering if he'd lamped another player on the pitch we would have received only a 3 games ban. His first game back... Chelsea!

Some people on CFCnet are idiots:

Who will we get? not one player by the looks of it. Who should we get.................

Miniero, Lampard, Deco & Malouda out. De Rossi, Aquilani, Lucho Gonzalez, Arshavin, Lavezzi & Aguero all in.

Defensive Midfield: Mikel, De Rossi, Lucho Gonzalez.

Centre Midfield: Ballack, Aquilani, Lucho Gonzalez.

Left & Right midfield: J.Cole, Arshavin, Essien, Kalou, Lucho Gonzalez.

Carling Cup semi-finals have been drawn today.

Tottenham vs Burnley

and

Derby County vs Manchester United

Should be interesting although I can't see there being an upset.

In other news; West Ham are playing on a Monday night for the second week running. What a load of bollocks. confused.gif

Aye, Eddie, one Monday game is bad enough. Pretty bad having to wait the whole weekend, seeing all the other results, until you can play yours.

I hope Sunderland get relegated with another record low points total, that was one of the most disgraceful performances I've ever seen from any team, we had at least 20 shots and they didn't have any, what is the point of playing football if you are not going to try and win? Thank you Nemanja Vidic, a great victory for football, f*ck Sunderland.

It's not just Sunderland though, it's the majority of the teams in the bottom half of the table. They just sit there defending for 90 minutes and say come and brake us down, it is very f*cking frustrating at times especially when you can't break them down.

Good to be back to winning ways again, first half was dire though.

Wow just wow, a victory for football ? Sunderland stuck by there tactics wheter you agree with them or not and for 93 mins they worked perfectly. Lower teams in the Prem may not play the most exicting football and you may not agree with it but thats football end of.

Good to see us getting on winning terms again although until Gerrard scored i was getting a bit agitated.

I find their tactics disgusting. It's not that they don't play exciting football, it's that they don't play football at all, they just try to kill any chance of anything interesting happening in the game, I reiterate that at no point during the match prior to Vidic's goal did they attempt to score. Football is ultimately an entertainment business, and is successful because it is entertaining - as such it is bad for football when teams make no effort whatsoever to entertain.

@ Andy His name is Michael Shields, he was convicted of attacked a Bulgarian a few year's ago. Personally I don't care if he is a Liverpool fan or even if he was a United fan, its a disgrace that those players wore shirt's that have the name of a convicted attacker on them.

Nail on Head. If it had been a criminal convicted in the UK who a team had supported they would have been punished.

And if it had been a criminal convicted in the UK, I seriously doubt Liverpool would have supported him, seeing as our criminal justice system is far superior. There were major problems in his conviction, I believe, that were glossed over and basically it seems like Shields was used as a scapegoat.

And were Newcastle punished for supporting Joey Barton, a convicted criminal?

What so your now saying that Liverpool shouldnt have wornthe Michael shirts even though he is a innocent man ? We didnt nothing wrong in wearing those shirts at all, there is no evidence to support the fact that he did it plus another guy has even confessed to commiting the crime but because he wont go back to Bulgaria their police can do nothing about it. Wheter he has the label of convicted criminal or not really has nothing to do with this case you have to look at every case seperatley before you make a judgement and not just going of the word convicted. The Joey Barton case was completley different as they had evidence to support there case on that one.

9 members of the jury said that he was guilty, he is guilty until proven otherwise. Personally i dong think Liverpool should have wore the shirts.

Yeah i think it was going down as attempted murder because he supposedly hit someone over the head with a brick/rock.

Apparently the police told Micheal to put on a white shirt before he left his apartment to leave to the police station and them told him to stand in a corridor where everyone can see him before he stands up in that room and a witness picks the culprit. All totally the wrong way to go about it.

The treatment he got over there is a terrible, if a foreigner got arrested over there, he would be getting PS3's, 360's and Sky TV along with about 5 meals a day tounge.gif, we need to toughen up our prisons.

It is not a fact that he is an innocent man, please do not present it as one, it is incorrect to do so. They shouldn't have worn the shirts because he was convicted of the crime by people far better informed than them, and it has nothing to do with football.

lol.gif Apart from all the people who saw him doing it, including his victim. You're either outright lying, or you're woefully misinformed.

plus another guy has even confessed to commiting the crime but because he wont go back to Bulgaria their police can do nothing about it.

If a Zenit St. Petersburg fan had been staying in Liverpool to watch the UEFA Cup Final, and he was convicted of braining a scouser with a paving slab, and then 2 days after the conviction, his drinking mate from Russia said "I did it, but I'm not going over there to confess and you can't extradite" would you expect our courts system to immediately free him? Of course it wouldn't. The Courts considered Sankey's "confession" and decided that he either a) Brained someone else, or b) was lying.

They have evidence, why the f*ck would they have convicted him otherwise? There is an appalling level of racism towards the Bulgarians from those in favour of Shields. The fact that a court convicted him suggests that he is guilty, the reason why we generally accept that people who are convicted of crimes.

All of them sounds like a lot of people, in which there was only 8 people plus the victim.

I want to know why the Bulgarian police told Shields to put on a white shirt and then left him in a corridor where everyone passing through could see him before his identity parade thing. Telling someone to put on a particularly colour of shirt sounds awfully like a setup.

Plus if someone has already confessed about committing the crime, then surely the other person must be innocent. But i agree that they're not just going to let him leave just because someone else confessed. The only way Shields is getting out is if that other guy goes to a courtroom.

Why would they want to set him up? Sankey, the man who "confessed", was also arrested the same night as Shields but later released. If there was some big Bulgarian conspiracy to arrest an Englishman, SURELY they wouldn't have released the bloke who did it.

Or he was lying to try and get Shields off, the same "Scouse Solidarity" I've seen used to try and railroad reasonable Liverpool fans who don't immediately assume his innocence into being in support of Shields. Note that Sankey later retracted his confession.

Could do with a win today and shove Hull back out the way. It will be tough though, think both teams are going for 4-5-1.

Hope for a 2-1 win.

Pretty pissed off about yesterday's result. 2-0 up and for them to equalise in the last few minutes is canny annoying.

Sidwell scored a brilliant placed shot 2 minutes in.

But we have no options and the whole half they have been pressuring us none stop a goal was coming, we need Carew back cryani.gif

I read in the Sunday Express (maybe not the best source of info) that Man Utd were leading the chase for Benzema. Lyon's asking price is over £80m...

This sounds like total, ludicrous sh*t talk, but it brings up the point that there's far too much money in the game.
