Woot!! Anelka scores yet again. Now, please don't tell me this was a handball too. We are winning! Back to the top of the table we go! colgate.gif

chelsea supporter. YUCK!

I respect anelka because wat he did at 5/21/08 tounge.gif if u remember what happened that day

thanks god for letting that happen biggrin.gif

Instead of trying to make me look into the past, why not ponder over what happened to your champion(?) team this Saturday? And also worry about how you're going to catch up with us this season. I have much lesser things to worry about than you.

Oh really? I have more stuff to worry about? bored.gif

I think u need to worry about beating the Roman Ultras...I mean...3-1 tounge2.gif While we ripped their hearts out 7-1 biggrin.gif

Arsenals game was pure luck..If rafael started playing from the begginning we would have wan

Berbatov is too lazy..SO tevez needed to start..but fergie made a mistake

If rooney took his chances we would have been 3-4 up in the first half alone..

We were in Scotland few days ago...no wonder we lost.

I bet the man utd lads were partying too much for Rio's birthday tounge2.gif another reason we lost perhaps?

That's quite possibly the most inaccurate statement I've ever seen in The footy desk. If Rafael started you would have won? Not playing Tevez was a mistake? You lost because you were in Scotland days before? Seriously is that your argument?

Rooney could have put his chances away yes, but so could Bendtner, and so could anybody else who had those clear cut chances. It's all 'if we did this', 'If we did that'. You're clutching at straws here.

There is no question or dispute over whether Manchester United are Champions, either of England or Europe, so that question mark you've placed is in error. Further, by saying "I have much lesser things to worry about than you." you are saying that Manchester United are much more important than other things you've got to worry about.

Firstly, I wasn't talking to you. I was talking to that idiot over there who said 'chelsea supporter. YUCK!'.

Secondly, the question mark isn't an error. It's rightly placed in the sense that you being champions and all are nowhere near the amount of points or the goal difference that we have, yet you inconsiderate ManU fans have the audacity to call a Chelsea supporter out.

Thirdly, it is you who needs some English lessons. (I would probably beat you convincingly in an English test just like Arsenal and Liverpool did). 'I have much lesser things to worry about than you' implies that while you have to worry about your position in the league, we are already at the top. So, obviously, you can sit in a corner and worry how you're going to catch up with us.

Gosh, aren't there any sensible ManUtd supporters in here who can appreciate the efforts of other teams and not just try to run down every other non-ManU supporter? whatsthat.gif

Well said Struff.

gta 4 gamer: I wouldn't call the victory 'pure luck'. Personally I agree with you on Fergie making the first XI mistakes (especially Rafael), but Arsenal played convincingly too and took chances better when it was at 0-0. "IF Rooney took his chances" - well he didn't, and he didn't look good the entire match, so for gods sake move on.

Oh Sidwell, what a backpass. And Alves, match of shockers.

And a nice Shorey back pass aswell. That Alfonso missed two sitters aswell, the second chance.......i think it would of been harder to miss than actually score.

So gutted, with Arsenal & United next we could drop into the bottom half if things go really bad. sad.gif

See how we do against Arsenal, i really think we can pick something up.

I had the misfortune of watching the Newcastle match. To beat Villa and then lose to Fulham just backs up the fact that, on our day, we can play and match the better teams in the league, but when it comes to the poor and mediocre, we're sh*t. A bit of a mess from Cacapa, but I've always felt a bit sorry for him after Allardyce took him off after fifteen minutes when we played Portsmouth once. Andy Johnson makes the most of things, but it was a penalty. We were on top for a while until their second goal, shame about the rest of the match.

my pleasure mate my pleasure. i will be editing it.wait around 10 mins

Edit:

Man U is not a term United fans refer to themselves as. The term is only used by other supporters as a complete and utter insult to our club. The "u" is meant to be "you" by the rival fans.

An early example of its usage is this chant by West Brom fans: "Duncan Edwards is manure, rotting in his grave, man you are manure- rotting in your grave". The origin of "Man Utd" is a song to insult the dead Duncan Edwards.

Liverpool and Leeds fans copied this with their own man you /u versions to insult all of the lads who died at munich.

"ManU Man U went on a plane Man U Man U never came back again"

and..

"Man U Never Intended Coming Home" (if you combine the first letter of each word you get the word "munich").

Please dont say"my ass you memorized this.." because i summarized in what some people in other forums say, and summarize it.

The U, when people say ManU isn't meant to abbreviate to 'Man you'. And if it was, how the f*ck would it offend you!?

If you put the first letters of Man and U together, you don't get Munich, you get MU, which is the sound a cow with foot and mouth makes.

Get this, I actually feel offended that ManU have the same nickname as the team I support, so please, never refer to ManU, as 'The Reds', or I may be forced to make a sh*tload of bollocks about how I feel insulted and offended.

As in, you're not actually offended when people refer to ManU as 'ManU', and your points to back up this fact are about the tragic incident that is the Munich air disaster, where 23 people, including eight players died, which is one of the most fatal moments in football.

Adding on to what Seddo said, you must be really f*cked off when watching ManU on TV, and you look in the top corner of the screen, and they refer to United as ManU, or MU, which obviously abbreviates to Munich!?

The link to Munich is fairly tenuous..."Man U Never Intended Coming Home" also work if you use Manchester United. The term was used to refer to United for many years before the disaster though, but it was tainted somewhat by disgraceful fans nearer the time. Honestly, it's something you might notice as a United fan but it's not used in the offensive way any more precisely because it's such a sh*t insult. Frankly I'm glad it's a term people can now use without immediately bring up Munich, I tend to find it's usually internet superfans who like to bring it up when "Man U" is mentioned.

As an example of how unconnected it's become, some bloke on RedCafe had as his location (No sigs on that board) "It's Manchester United, United or Man United." to the Admins changed his tagline to "Man U Fan".

To be fair referring to the team as "Man U" does mark you out a bit as something of a plastic as it shows a lack of awareness of the usage of the term. There's generally no problem with opposition/neutral fans using it but it's not something United fans expect of their fellows. The Ryan Wilson thing I've never even heard of.

You've walked into the footy desk, which is one of my favourite places on the entire forum and has always a haven of debate and banter all in the name of the beautiful game. But you start spouting sh*t about Man U being an offensive term, then you exhibit a complete and profoundly embarassing lack of knowledge about football and try and lecture us!

I wouldn't expect you to have heard of it, it's a long time ago that it was even used in that way, but I'd say a lot of United fans would know about it, and not knowing about it suggests one's knowledge about the club has a lack of depth. Not calling him a plastic per se but pointing out that it's how it comes across, to a lot of United fans at least.
