I'm quite surprised that the small 8 team A-League has gotten off to a cracker. My team, Melbourne Victory, are currently top of the table with 7 points and I was happy enough to attend their match on Friday night, where they beat Newcastle 5-0. Also, 21 goals in 4 games, and 40 in the past 8 means that the A-League should hopefully draw bigger crowds now.

And just because some rich dude purchased a club does not mean they will be successful. Some may argue that Chelsea did purchase success a few years back, but that's only half of the story. The team effort was equally responsible for putting Chelsea in the position where it is today. So, imo, Man City will need to do more than just buy big names.

Ive never agreed with people saying Chelsea bought the title etc. Liverpool spent way more than Roman did over 5 years and they didnt win the prem. Roman did, he just spent the momey faster. Its all the same.

They are in debt to the tune of about 650Million I think.

The Glazers bought the club on borrowed money. The re-payments are like 100k a day or something crazy like that.

 

The clever part being is that the club repay the money, so say in 4 years when the debt is paid off, the glazers make 1Billion for nothing.

They never used any of their own money, They borrows the lot. Its f*cking genius when you think about it.

As for buying the title, you can't really buy the title it does require a bit of good coaching and playing, I just find the way Chelsea have done it by getting a new coach every season a little stupid, I just hope City don't do the same.

As a City fan I'm surprised as I thought Everton would have been a club in a more 'attractive' position considering their history is a little more trophy laden than ours.
