I don't want Owen if he's going to be on £120k a week, especially since we got rid of Milner because he wanted more than his £35k a week he was on. And Owen isn't fit a lot, injury prone. As soon as we get another, half-decent striker in I reckon we should get rid of him.

Keegan is beginning to piss me off too. Mike Ashley obviously brought him in to get fans on his side, but Keegan doesn't have the pull he did ten or so years ago. Even our best signings, Coloccini and Gutierrez, were probably down to that ex-Real Madrid scout we have as some behind-the-scenes guy. He's full of sh*t. Also, his whining about Nasri (I think it was him) "slicing" down Joey Barton was ridiculous, he fell over his own feet. He's just a violent guy, hasn't changed obviously, since the first thing he did when coming on yesterday was attempt to silence his critics by jumping into a harsh challenge. He got the ball, just as well, but it's a bit uncalled for.

 

Anyways, rant over. I watched MotD this morning, Defoe is class since he's been given a good run in the first team. He was wasted at Tottenham, I bet they're kicking themselves now. It was weird, three off-the-bar and onto the line goal chances in the matches, two of which were allowed.

Villa just wasted an opportunity from a free-kick, should have scored really. My Sky is messing up, keeps freezings from the bad weather I think. It looked like Milner may have been starting his warm-ups, but it froze and I didn't know if it was him or not. If so, prepare to be shown the class of Milner, Seddo

 

As I type, he's just came on for Luke Young. Reo-Coker goes to right back and he goes right wing I think.

 

EDIT: Keane's just wasted a good chance. Nice ball from I think Mascherano lofted over the top, he runs onto it and into the penalty area. Reo-Coker catches up wiht him and nabs it from him just as he's about to shoot. He whines penalty, but no chance. Nearly eighty minutes gone and Keane's just came on for Benayoun.

 

Also, according to Sky Sports news, we're linked with a season-long loan deal for Ignacio Gonzalez of Valencia. He's a midfielder, nothing more is said so I hope they mean right winger, as we desparately need one and already have too many centre mids. Never heard of him though, apparently, despite just joining Valencia this summer, he's surplus to requirements (must be amazing ). Uruguayan international too.

Ignacio Gonzalez? He played for Monaco on loan last season, a team I follow quite a bit, and he's not that bad. Although, he never played much while he was there; he joined in January, I think. I dunno, I'd need more time to see him really - wouldn't write him off, but wouldn't have extremely high expectations.

Rafa's subs are always baffling. He starts with lucas on the left...Taking off the goal threat ll the time. Aurelio is always the first sub on, what about Babel!

Well i see it didn't take Rafa long to start f*cking up our season, starting off with 3 defensive midfielders and one up front to start off with, we should be winning these games if we want to win the title.

 

Starting off with a defensive midfielder on the left (Lucas), a striker on the right (Kuyt, fair enough he's done it all last season and this season), then when Torres went off injured he left Keane on the left wing near enough and brought on Ngog?????????.

 

Then in the second half he decided to bring Keane upfront.

 

Then he subs Kuyt off and brings on Aurelio (who the f*ck puts a left footed defender on the right side of the wing??????) Then he takes of Keane and brings on Benayoun, leaving us with one inexperienced, young, 1.5 million striker upfront on his own.

 

And he leaves Babel on the bench.

 

What a dick he is, substitutions, positions and tactics all f*cking wrong .

Cool, maybe it's just me playing the pessimist, but my faith in Keegan isn't exactly sky high. All the good signings are probably thanks to Dennis Wise and Tony Jimenez, more the latter probably, nothing to do with Keegan I predict. I've just read an article where they're after Angel di Maria and Diego Buonanotte, from Argentina's Olympic Gold Medal team. They were also featured amongst the 50 Most Talented Teens on the Planet issue of World Soccer late last year. I can't see either coming though - di Maria plays at Benfica, who have European football I think, and Buonanotte plays for River Plate, far more successful than us.

 

And yeah, maybe I should check Google next time I might actually buy it this year insead of getting my cousin's hand-me-down of last years.

We had Gerrard and Torres for the past 5 games and the performances have been the same.

 

Anyway it's not the performances i'm worrying about yet as i know we can get better. What i'm annoyed at is Rafa's starting team and formation aswell as his substitutions.

Benitez is my favourite manager. He plays one goal a season man, N'Gog upfront, while there are two experienced strikers playing out on the wings. He comes up with bizarre ideas and strategies that no-one else could come close to, he is truly unique.

I'm quite surprised that the small 8 team A-League has gotten off to a cracker. My team, Melbourne Victory, are currently top of the table with 7 points and I was happy enough to attend their match on Friday night, where they beat Newcastle 5-0. Also, 21 goals in 4 games, and 40 in the past 8 means that the A-League should hopefully draw bigger crowds now.
