@Mark, Milner is an alright player but he's not a player that can take Liverpool to the next level, we have enough average players in our squad .

Were these awards just for Europe of the whole season?.

Ronaldo's a forward, played as a full striker Vs Roma and Barcelona last year, and was practically a right sided striker in all our other games, although in my view Lampard's also a forward. Saying that, Lampard has more to the defensive side of his game and plays centrally. Hard to draw a distinction, although I strongly disagree with the assertion that CR is a midfielder, he hardly gets any assists for a start.

 

The awards were for CL performances I believe. Possibly club performances all season, but Internationals were not taken into account.

Ronaldo's a winger, which is midfielder. He went forward a few times, but his dominant position is on the wing. I read that he got the award because he scored 42 goals last season, although I do agree with you in saying that all those Chelsea awards were pathetic.

Group A: Chelsea and Roma should walk it

Group B: Inter and Werder Bremen or Panathinaikos

Group C: Barcelona and Sporting should walk it

Group D: Tricky one... Liverpool will go through but might not win the group... The other spot depends on Atlético: If they manage to bottle as they use to do in the important moments, they won't go through, if they have matured, keep an eye on them during the CL

Standard Liege are a quality side and i take back what i said when i first heard of them, i'm pretty sure they would get into the UEFA cup if they were in the Premier League. They went through the whole season unbeaten and only lost one game at the end when the championship was already won, if they play liked they did against Liverpool it's going to be a good match.

I think Reira do the job for LFC. He's a good player. He was average for City, but with his further experience in the Espanyol team then I feel he should be much better now than when he was with City.

Ah, you beat me to it. Nice bit of business for us, bought him for £5m and sold him for over £10 according to the unoffical club site: www.nufc.com.

 

They bring up a good point on there too. He was one of our hardest-working players yet he was paid a mere £35,000 in comparison with the higher earners Duff, Barton and Smith. Yet those three players are lazy or rarely play, it's ridiculous! We'll never get a good replacement for the low wages Milner was on for under the price we sold him for. So not good business in that sense.

 

 

It might not look like a positive move to fans at the moment but what will happen in the next two to three days will be positive... We have four or five irons in the fire with two of them quite far down the line.

This sounds all too familiar, almost mirroring his words from a few weeks ago. I'm interested in seeing who these players are that he's after, since below this article is about a Guinean defender on trial with us, and Atouba from Hamburg, formerly from Spurs. Both defenders, so I'm not exactly thrilled.

 

Owen's future is still in doubt too, I dunno if he is worth the excessive wages he's demanding. He scores goals and has rescued three points in the game vs. Bolton, as well as a place in the next round of the Carling Cup, add to that we don't have much else in the way of striking options, but I just don't want a greedy player like that playing. We should sell him whilst we have the chance to make some money.

I sure don't.

I won't consider the Spurs to be totally down and out. Every day is a new day and every match is a fresh start. Although, they might be a little down on confidence, we can't afford to be complacent. Chelsea will go out all guns blazing. I just hope the Spurs manage to provide some entertainment. Moreover, being a home game for us, doesn't help the Spurs much either.
