Err, no he never? He subbed him on for Cavalieri.

Oh right tounge.gif, like i said to Stefan i never watched the match as i don't have Sky and i was getting my match updates from the members on the official Liverpool forums, and that's what everyone was saying...

I was massively misinformed sad.gif.

Anyway, aren't you a season ticket holder?, did you get it renewed for the upcoming season?.

I'm looking forward to the Champions League qualifiers and i'll have to try and get tickets for the Anfield clash, but lately it's been impossible to get tickets ever since the fan card thing come into play, used to be miles easier when you could just ring up tounge.gif.

That's strange. I was on holiday at the time so I watched it in a bar, and to my recollection he came on for Cavalieri. Unless I missed something drastic, he never played outfield! tounge.gif

As for the season ticket, nope, unfortunately. That's no I'm not a holder - not that I didn't get it renewed. Been on the waiting list for years, but no dice. I've been going to the champions league matches for a good few years, just getting tickets with the fancard. smile.gif

@Gareth Croke: Well, if my Danish knowledge serves me correct, it's pronounced 'Mid-ty-land' and there's a little 'y' sound before the 'y'.

Anyway, nice to see Liverpool scoring some goals in a pre-season friendly as we beat Rangers 4-0, the Torres and Keane partnership looked good and also another good performance from Krisztian Nemeth as he set up a goal and earned a penalty which Alonso slotted home icon14.gif.

This aint looking good for Rangers, they dont have enough strikers for kaunas, i'm afraid they might drop out of the CL in the 2nd round.

The one that most impressed me in that game was benayoun, he run rings around Rangers, he just gets better and better by the game.

Good luck for the season you mighty reds. wink.gif

@AndySerb: Not too difficult of a draw considering some of the teams Rangers could have got but, indeed, it'll still be a tough task.

Why the hell are we tenth?! This is madness! notify.gif

We're lower than Bolton!!! tounge.gif

Well, Victory are in the pre-season cup final after beating the Jets 1-0, thanks to new signing Tom Pondeljak scoring a late goal. We're playing the Phoenix, who managed to come from behind and beat Sydney.

It should be good. icon14.gif

Newcastle lost 1-0 in a friendly again, this time against Hertha Berlin (more respectable than the Doncaster defeat). Gutierrez had his debut I think, read he was canny decent but nout special. We seemed to have agreed a fee with Deportivo for Coloccini, though the deal isn't finalised yet.

Yeah, last week. They did score in the 87th minute, in our defence. And we did have Ameobi and Smith up front ph34r.gif

To make it even worse, there were two players playing for Doncaster who I recognised as former-youth academy players! Also, three trialists!

Ameobi played against his brother too, haha. Just seen that N'Zogbia was in the starting XI for it too, odd since he wants to move, I didn't think Keegan would waste his time with him.

I'm betting you'll be glad to know that our main goal-threat, Mark Viduka ("ZOMG!!" I hear you say, contain yourself) is not expected to be fit for the first game. Oh no!!!

On this little tournament we're on at the mo (in Mallorca, who also feature alongside us, Hertha and Hannover), we've left Owen and Viduka at home. Martins is unfit and Ameobi has apparently picked up hamstring trouble. I luff injuries inlove.gif

Anyway, have any teams got any half-decent friendlies coming up? I don't mean some PR stunt Oceania-Asia/US tour to get more fans. Newcastle face PSV this Wednesday and Valencia on Saturday, and friendly tickets are often cheap so I might get some.

I thought Liverpool vs. Rangers could have been a decent friendly, yet it turned out 4-0.

Do friendly cups count? Emirates Cup, Juventus beat Arsenal, but Arsenal are playing Real today.

Who's the 4th team this year? Last year it was Arsenal, PSG, Valencia and Inter, I think.

It's Hamburg.

The officials f*ck up again, not much has changed then. Arsenal deserved to win v/s Juve, but good to see the plenty of English youngsters as well. Djourou impressed me. Denilson, Wilshere and Vela especially have been good also.

Real Madrid v/s Hamburg: 2-1( Van Nistelrooy, Parejo, Zidan)

Arsenal v/s Juve: 0-1(Trezeguet)

Ah, but you can't read anything from pre-season games. When Liverpool last won the FA Cup in 2006 I think they lost nearly all of their friendlies, one of them ending 5-0.

And of course, now that I've said that you'll go and bloody thrash them now.

The first half was quite even, I thought both teams were poor. Then each team made about half a dozen changes at half time, which totally exposed our lack of depth. Our whole team crumbled immediately afterwards.

It was a good day overall though. Some flag-waving Sellik fan tried to mingle with the Liverpool support, and not only did he have his flag ripped down by the fans, he was arrested 10 minutes later and subsequently laughed at by everyone in the stadium. Funny stuff.

Liverpool have a fantastic support, that was one of the best (and most vocal) away supports I've seen at Ibrox. Quite a few of them were sitting amongst the Rangers fans. They did live up to their reputation however when they stole the match ball. lol.gif

Don't you have another funeral to grieve over? sigh.gif

Not one to get excited over friendlies, but I have to say I was impressed with every player on show today, apart from Pennant that is...

Ngog, jeeze he looks a superb prospect, tall, fast and with a stupendous shot on him, his goal was superbly took.

LFC are building what I reckon is a superb squad and the players brought in are much improvements, Dossena is looking ok now, goalie is a 100% improvement on Itandje. And Keane linked up with Gerrard and Torres nicely. Benayoun is looking good in the pre season as well.

Spearing, Insua, Darby all look as if they can make the step up to regular first team games. I think we may surprise a few people this season.

@adamcs, how come the Rangers fans were booing Keane?, he hasn't played for Celtic or anything has he?.

Also Sneijder has picked up an injury in the friendly against Arsenal and it can be crucial ligament damage, meaning he will very much miss the whole season. That will give Real an extra incentive to try and buy Ronaldo.

And what a f*cking joke Adebayor is, he has been saying for a few weeks now that he was leaving Arsenal and he was nearly joining Milan but only recently changed his mind. He then scores a penalty and starts kissing the Arsenal badge, how can he possibly do that bored.gif.

Rumours still abound about Ashley looking for club investors ala QPR to co-own the club.

Oh behave yourself.

He was filmed in one of Sellick's slophouses last year singing rebel songs. That's why he's disliked.

Nope, dont think so. Real is after Van der Vaart now and will get him for a 15 million € + x, i think.

Hamburg has two choices now:

- They let VdV go, get some cash and try to reach at least the 6th place in the next season(i dont think they can do it)

or

- VdV stays and Hamburg has the chance to qualify for the CL. BUT VdV can leave the club for 1.5 mil € after the next season.

I would take the cash and try to focus on the 09/10-season, becaus without VdV they will end up somewhere in no man's land in the upcoming season.
