What do you think? Who's missing?

David Villa is 26 so why is he in there? tounge.gif.

James Milner in a 'the future of football' video? lmao...

There's a few players in that video that have been playing for so long already (even though they're still young), i don't think they're are the future of football as they're already here. There's some damn awesome player sin that video though.

Liverpool have some promising young talent but they have yet to break into the main team yet, only a matter of time.

I'll tell you who are the future of football, Zidane's 3 kids, look on Youtube for a couple of video's, i think one kid is called Enzo, they're quality and what are Beckham's 3 kids doing? f*ck all mad.gif.

Edit: Oh and the lack of English talent in that video is worrying sad.gif.

Milan have practically got Ronnie now.

OK so we missed out on him, but to get linked so heavily with a player of his caliber has got to count for something.

I'm telling you man, he's mint! When/if he moves to Liverpool, I'll be serving your words for your breakfast to eat. You'll see how good he is. He's Newcastle's best player (I know, not the biggest achievement) when he gets a few games together.

I might not go as far as Future of Football though, he's not that good. He could make the England squad though, again, not that much of an achievement.

That way, Sir Alex can switch to 4-3-3, by putting Neville, Ferdinand, Vidic and Brown across the back, putting Nani, Carrick/Hargreaves and Anderson across the midfield, and putting Berbatov, Rooney and Tevez up front. I think that's a winning combination.

There's so much wrong with that. Nani's not a central midfielder for a start, and Scholes is better than any of the actual central midfielders you've listed. I also see a front 3 of Rooney, Berbatov and Tevez as lacking width. Rooney's not really a winger, and Tevez and Berbatov certainly aren't, I'd expect to see two of them upfront and 1 on the bench, with 2 of Park, Nani and Giggs on either wing.

I didn't really mean having Nani, Anderson and Carrick as central midfielders, I was more leaning towards having Nani and Anderson on the wings, with Carrick in the middle. However, since Rooney is pretty good on the wing (he swapped positions with Ronaldo for a match against Fulham last year, I think, and he set up Ronaldo all over the place), he can go on one wing along with Nani on the other, Tevez and Berbatov can go up front, with Carrick/Scholes/Hargreaves and Anderson supporting them from central midfield. Carrick can be a good goalscorer on his day, and like you said, Scholes used to be one of the worlds best central midfielders. Just look at that goal he scored against Barcelona in the Champions League semi-final. icon14.gif

I dont think Man City were ever going to sign him. He had no intentions of going.

Barca have agreed terms with Milan now, Deal should be done today.

Personally, I think he'll end up going downhill at Milan. Ronaldo moved from Real Madrid to Milan, then he encountered injury troubles, and he good is he nowadays?

Barry has returned back at the Villa training ground erlier, I'd really love to see His and MON's talk. I'm not entirely sure of what to think about it all. sad.gif

I think he will be quite a bit loss to Villa if he goes. He's played 350 odd times for the club, and he's the main misfield asset you have. Who else have you guys got? Stiliyan Petrov, Ashley Young, Nigel Reo-Coker... you're screwed.

Still, he's been around for a good 3-4 years, it's not like he's still in the reserves or the academy.

No, i don't think we are screwed atall!

Bringing in Sidwell, who looks really promising from the last few fixtures. Barry obviously great player hard to lose him, but its for the best of the club & the player, we need to now re-group and look for quality player like himself, and with the money and quality of the side we have, i really think we will find someone, lets not forget Sidwell has played in his place a few times and not been bad. By no means are we screwed.

Just bought the latest World Soccer issue which features The World's 50 Greatest Derbies. They've picked them from all over the world, and so have avoided focusing on Europe alone and instead their list features many of the Asian, South American and African clubs (this is reflected more in the whole list, as opposed to the top 10).

Here's the top five though:

5. Ajax vs. Feyenoord Holland

4. Galatasaray vs. Fenerbahce Turkey

3. Celtic vs. Rangers Scotland

2. Boca Juniors vs. River Plate Argentina

1. Real Madrid vs. Barcelona Spain

One question, is there 'Red Star Belgrade vs. Partizan Belgrade' on the list, or any other Yugoslav rivalries?

Too early to tell, you cna never judge someone before theyve even played a game for the team. Itll be intersting to see how he does at Milan but i cant see him going downhill, he can only improve ofrom the last year he had at Barca.

Real Madrid/Barcelona is a strange one to have at #1. It's a great footballing feast, but the passion/rivalry/history/excitement doesn't come close to matching the three derbies below it..

Well back in the day maybe bit not now, those matches are pretty sh*t lately, nothing really happens in them like the old days, same goes with the Liverpool-Everton Derby.

Aren't Derbies supposed to be from the same city?, some of them are just rivalries not Derbies.

Derbies are supposed to be from the same region i think. I have to agree that many of those matches arent derbies.

Nah, that's local derbies.

Liverpool - Man Utd isn't that big a game. Maybe it's because I'm not a supporter of either team, but I've never seen it as a big rivalry. The likes of Rangers - Celtic and Madrid - Barca are big.

The same goes with Arsenal - Spurs, I never really think of it as a derby since I'm not a supporter of either. I know they don't get along, but I guess it's whatever team you support you believe has a big rivalry. Newcastle vs. Sunderland is a big game in my eyes, but obviously not on the world stage.

There's bits written up on each rivalry if anybody wants them typed out. They get progressively longer, with the top two having double-page spreads on them. Some are quite interesting, how a lot of them stem from the old class divides where one team was funded and supported by the wealthy, but the masses chose to follow their rivals. Or political ones, such as Lazio, as I think Mussolini supported them which if why some fans are associated with fascism.

There was this italian player who had a "duce"-tattoo on his arm. Dont know if he played for Lazio though.

I always associated Lazio with facism because of "SS Lazio Rom" rolleyes.gif

Well with Hleb going leaving Arsenal to Barcelona and kissing the Barca badge on his very first interview/photo shoot thing the new players do, it got the Arsenal fans a bit wound up and a few emails from other clubs fans about the subject such has Rooney with his 'once a blue, always a blue' message and then leaving to United the season after.

Sky Sports come up with an interesting question. What players deserve to kiss their clubs crest/badge?. I'll add the option to add retired players aswell wink.gif.

Lets see who you come up with.

Puyol for Barca.

Casillas and Raul for Madrid.

Maldini for AC.

Del Peiro and Buffon for Juve.

Totti for Roma.

Geez thinking about it there is a ton of players for diiferent teams, that have been good servants for there clubs.
