Kaka's Mother: 'Go to Manchester, Son'

Following Kaka's sensational come and get me plea to United, Kaka's mother has added more fuel to the fire by encouraging her son to join United. Speaking to respected Brazilian newspaper Terra from her home in Sao Paolo, she said, "He (Kaka) wants to leave Milan. It is true. It his dream to play in England and in Manchester. And as a mother I want my son to be happy. So when he told me about this I told him to follow his heart."

Mrs. Santos has no doubt that Kaka has what it takes to become a Manchester United legend. "As a young girl, I heard a lot about Manchester United. The Busby Babes, Best, Law and Charlton. I know Kaka is a good player and Ferguson will be able to bring the best out of him."

Given the imminent sale of Ronaldo to Real Madrid for a reportedly new world record £65million, Manchester United should have no problem funding Kaka's purchase. Whether this transfer merry go round does take place remains to be seen but whatever happens it'll be an eventful few days in 3 of Europe elite clubs' boardrooms.

Yeah, I remember that. It resulted in him leaving Chelsea didn't it. confused.gif

Hopefully Ronaldo will stay, for another season at least. I don't know where we would've been without him this season.

What was the score? I can't find it with a quick Google search.

Also, I only know of Carlos Vela and dos Santos as their youngsters, and they are supposed to become stars; who else is there though?

Also, was the caretaker manager in charge for the game? What happened to Hugo Sanchez? Last thing I heard about him was in World Soccer and he was doing fairly good.

As kietotheworld said it was 4-1 in favor of Argentina.

Other than Carlos Vela and Giovanni Dos Santos there is also Andres Guardado who play for Deportivo La Couruña in Spain, Goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa,22, who currently plays for Club America (my favorite team)in Mexico but he is expected to move to Europe soon maybe in July or next season. Edgar Castillo who plays for Santos, this guy has incredible speed and he was a factor in his team becoming champions no less than one week ago. There is some other few players that currently play in the Mexican league who seem to have a bright future.

The caretaker manager was in charge of the game. Hugo Sanchez got fired, because he didn't bring the results that most Mexicans wanted and he didn't qualify the under-23 team to the Olympics even though he had many talented and experienced talented players.

We got beaten 4-1 because two of our defenders were nervous, we had an incompetent defensive midfielder, and most of all, our goalie sucked balls and couldn't stop anything. Even though he is supposed to have experienced, I've always criticized this guy, and hopefully our young keeper will play against Peru next Sunday. But I don't take away from Argentina they played well and they deserved to win.

Oh yeah, I heard about Guardado on World Soccer too just before he moved to Deportivo. Him and Ochoa are also good FM buys tounge.gif

Don't think I've heard about Castillo before though.

Also, I think the emphasis on the success of the youth team in other countries is good, perhaps England would see an improvement and new generation of good players like countries such as Mexico, Brazil and Argentina have. I mean, to get sacked for not leading the under-23s to the Olympics wouldn't happen over here (I don't think England is allowed an Olympic team? it has to be GBR & NL), it's is quite unusual to me.

You heard about Ochoa? Cool.

Maybe you haven't heard about Edgar Castillo, because he is one of the most underrated players in the FMF.

A lot of Mexicans are expecting 'Memo" Ochoa to move to Europe this summer, the only thing stopping him may be his current team,America, who just went through the worst crisis in their history and may want to keep him for another season. Even thoguh I am a big America fan I hope they let him go this season so he can gain experience in Europe and help our national team.

Just got knocked out of the Libertadores (?) and are bottom in the league is what I think I remember reading. By the way, how do the leagues work in Mexico - in World Soccer it has 3 seperate tables.

Also, I only know Ochoa from FM and he's a bitch to buy on 07 as they won't let him go for anything less than $10m, he's an amazing keeper on it though. I heard of Vela and dos Santos from the 2005 Under-17s World Cup.

There is 3 different tables with 6 teams on each. Each team plays 17 games in total. At the end of the season the top two teams of each group advance automatically to the "liguilla" ,which is basically play-offs. The other two spots are by 4 other teams who had a better position in their group tables. There is 8 teams in total and 2 games are played, the team with the best overall score advances. If there is a tie the team with the best position in the general table advances automatically, however this is not applied in the final. A team gets relegated every 2 or 3 season if its last table in which games played and points acquired over two seasons are calculated. Pretty complicated and that's why some people want it changed to the European style, the FMF has this format because they bring in more money by doing it this way and it's more exciting.

Here are some videos of Memo Ochoa if anyone is interested in watching them.

They sacked him I think, quite rightly as well. If he'd have been in any other job he'd have lost it; it's good Chelsea had enough balls to get shut of him. People like Mutu should have no place in any sport.

I can't remember what drugs Mutu used, was it performance enhancing drugs or just recreational drugs?.

It was cocaine he tested positive for.

Then got fired which is correct. Now he must pay back Chelsea for what they invested in him. I think its fair.

I don't think they should even test athletes for non performance enhancing drugs.

Probably some would agree.

I think its more down to clubs policy rather than what they are taking.

Im sure it was also contractual because he got his cards straight away.

I dont know if its the same in all clubs, maybe since the Paul Merton/Tony Adams and the hundreds of footballers that probably have gambling and drink problems the clubs have brought in new policy and include it all contracts. Not suprising with the investment involved.

Jeez, confusing! Also read in The Mail today that Tottenham have agreed an initial fee of £4.5m with Barcelona for dos Santos! There's me thinking he'd be the next big thing, don't think he'll be that great if he's being sold so early.

Yup it's official, I think it's a great move for him because he most likely will get to be a starter, get more playing time than he did in Barcelona and gain experience in EPL. Some people think it's a bad move for him but he actually wanted it and it seems to me that if he stayed in Barcelona he was always going to be Bojan's shadow.

Hmm, yeah he might start. The again, Spurs do have some good players too. I hope he starts and shows his talent, maybe he'll attract the attention of Arsenal and join Vela in years to come? Or maybe he comes to Newcastle inlove.gif

I'm kinda jealous of Spurs, I'd hoped he'd come to City... but still having another Barca player in ol Bucktooth himself ain't bad... just got to wait for him to get back of holiday

He was already attracting the attention form some Impoprtant European team such as AC Milan and Chelsea. They know he has a bright future but somehow Tottenham beat them to him.

Neither Chelsea nor Milan were interested in him, and even if they were they would of come in for him earlier.

4 goals in 38 appearances, prolific indeed, i predict he wont hack the Premiership, seems a bit of a lightweight.

He's more an attacking midfielder though, and many of those 28 (according to Wikipedia) performances were as a substitue for about 10-15 minutes, I believe.

EDIT: I guessed a bit low, here's info from Soccerlens.

Frank Rijkaard last season and made 16 starts in all competitions and came on as a substitute 22 times in the campaign

And, he's only 19.

Also, Chelsea were interested in him, as were Man Utd. From here...

The Sun claim that this comes after the player and his agent met with Avram Grant, Sir Alex Ferguson and Juande Ramos during a short trip to England at the end of last month.

Tottenham are also said to be looking for an attacking midfielder, but their offer is said to be only £7m, albeit attached with a guarantee of first team football.

Okay, it is the Sun as a source, but rumours wouldn't spring from nowhere about a youngster who isn't that well known.

Yeah I believe they were, also mark-2007 is right. When he got to play he would either go in as substitution or when he started he would just het substituted in the second half. Not to Mention that most of the season he played as a forward and that';s not his natural position. The only game that he played in his natural position which is an attacking midfielder was in the last one and look what he did, he scored a three goals in one game.

Also do me a favour and get me a link saying Chelsea and Milan were after him, then i will believe tounge.gif.

They showed some mild interest, big deal. Krkic is better anyway.

Yeah, Bojan is good too but I'll be interested in seeing dos Santos in the Premiership next year. I hope he does well (apart from against Newcastle).

Also, I heard Newcastle were after Michael Dawson. He's sh*t! If a defender plays bad against Newcastle (Martins tore him apart whenever the two faced each other) then you know that they're not much good.

Does anybody know whats up between Podolski and ManCity? I heard that they wanted him some months ago. And some days ago Podolski said taht he wants to leave Bayern if he is not going to play in the starting line-up. And i cant imagine that Klinsmann will let him play because Toni and Klose are definatley playing from the beginning next season.

I tell you what - I wouldn't mind him at Newcastle. I wouldn't rule an offer out by us, not that I've heard any rumours but it adds up. He wants out and we have the money and need a good, solid goalscorer. Judging by tonight's performance, he fits the bill.

I also heard that Schweinsteiger wants out according to the Mail on Saturday. It said he doesn't get as much playing time as he wants, yet checking Wikipedia he made more appearances the past season than he had in the previous ones.

Well i think Newcaste is not playing Uefa Cup this season, is it? So i think there's no chance of getting him. Personally i think it's just important for him to play. No matter where. And he stated out that he wants to play in England if possible. I'd like to see him in Bremen.

It was a big fault to go to Bayern. Bremen is one of the best teams in Europe where young, talented players can improve(see Klose, Diego etc.) but Podolski decided to go to Bayern and to take the cash. Is there any top-english team interested in him? He really wants to go. Klinsmann wont let him play. I just cant believe...
