Eh, perfect epitome of Arsenal's season this year. Dominate games, but can't finish (we'll let the other team do that for us) and our defense can't seem to get through a game without conceding. This has just been a very frustrating season... the only other thing left that can go wrong would be to not finish in the top-4... hopefully we can avoid that

 

Also sad to see Celtic go out. No one gave them much of a chance against Milan, but they took them almost all the way to the end. Would've been nice to see them go through as an upset story.

Well, all I can say is I'm glad we didn't get one of the big contenders (no offense to Roma), but either Milan or Munich next if we get through? Oh dear.

Glad to see Liverpool got the easiest tie of the round. We'll beat PSV take on Chelsea in the semi's again and beat them again and then win our 2nd European cup in 3 seasons.

 

I can only wish.

Yeah, it was a lucky miss. One of us is bound to get through to the final. Liverpool did get the best team IMO, you won't get a much easier team than that in the Quarters. All I can say is I'm glad Roma got through instead of Lyon. There are:

 

3 English teams.

 

2 Italian teams.

 

1 Spanish team.

 

1 Dutch team.

 

and 1 German team left.

 

Our chance is good.

Seems strange that people think PSV are an easy team, I said when they got placed against Arsenal that they wouldnt be a push over and they proved just that. People forget they have done well in the Champions league in recent seasons and have been almost dominant in the Dutch league. I'm going for them to beat Liverpool, 1-0 after both legs.

Well basically we have hammered them all both legs in the group stages even though we drawn and won like 1-0, we deserved a lot more again.

 

Out of all teams left, PSV are the weakest side left, they never played well against Arsenal, it was just Arsenal never finished their chances and they should of won easily.

I would agree that PSV would be the weakest team left, I would be disappointed if L'pool didn't get through against them. I would be more worried about Valencia or Roma beating Utd or Chelsea.

 

IMO Arsenal should of won against PSV, the gunners just missed most of the shots or were saved well by the keeper. If they did get through, they could of knocked Liverpool out of all three cups!

Few broken noses in last round. Burdisso(Navarro, we are going to get you, c*nt!) and Roma's Chivu. Fred elbowed him in the face. Looks pretty nasty.

 

 

 

 

I won't even talk about our game, It doesn't hurt so much anymore since it happens every year. Now I'm just hoping that Roma and Milan don't go trough to next round. Champions League, mainly because it's UEFA's competition, sucks anyways. Good luck to Liverpool, only team left that I can stand.

I was gutted to see Inter go out too mate, as you know they have always been my favourite Italian team. Still at least you can concentrate on Serie A and the Italian Cup.

 

We had another disappointing result today, lost 2-1 away to Stoke. Have dropped out of the play-off places, team above us (Wolves) have a game in hand and are 3 points higher. With 9 games to go I'm really doubting our prospects.

A lucky draw in the FA cup against M'borough, I was doubting our chances when we were 2-1 down, they were playing very well at the time. At least we get a second chance.

 

Tottenham v Chelsea today, I would like spurs to win as I don't like the look of Chelsea still being able to win all four cups.

 

I also favoured Inter to get through against Valencia, they are my favourite Italian team too. As for the picture, it doens't look nice at all.

TBH though Chelski's third goal was good with Kalou vollying from like 10 yards.

We won the f*cking derby 2-1. Only thing better than beating Milan once in a season is beating them twice. We were missing Cambiasso and Viera so Dacourt was our only decent DM. He got injured too in the first half. Also Adriano is injured and Maicon couldn't play because of his red card against Livorno. Still we managed to play great and totally deserved the win.

 

Crespo was sh*t, Cruz replaced him and scored eleven seconds after that. Ibra was great, so were Burdisso, Cordoba, Materazzi and actually everyone.

 

Fatboy got the treatment he deserves and though he scored the first goal, it doesn't take away the fact that he's just a piece of sh*t(fits well to Milan).

Yeah i agree, i watched the match on BBC1 and when he brought them to off i was like WTF, maybe he thought the game was over and wanted to rest those players but even at 3-1 at Chelski's ground you should always keep your top players on.

It's either stopping Chelski from getting a possible treble or quadrouple or stopping a old rival team from winning another cup or a possible treble.

Yeah that's twice in two season's where City have come pretty close to the finals.

 

To be honest i can see Pierce going at the end of the season, although he is a young manager with not a lot of experience, to me he is not taking City in the right direction, and i cant see the board putting up with it for any longer.

To be honest a lot of people want Pearce out of City, but I don't I still think he's got a lot of potential and could still take us to that next level (Something that's been promised since Malcolm Alison, lol) but I really think he is the right man for the job, at the moment we can't score, but our defensive record is actually quite good we only lose by the odd goal and not a bucket load. If only we had a couple of strikers that could score and that someone extra in Midfield to link it all up, I think we could be doing quite well and be challenging the likes of Spurs, Bolton, Newcastle and Middlesbrough for those European places, especially Spurs.

 

Which if all this speculation of investment is true, which I doubt, it takes someone with the IQ of a Marigold Glove to want to invest in City, but if it does come true then we could have some money to spend on players.

 

Which is why I laugh when people go on about the 'big four' as if they've been that way for years, if it wasn't for that Russian, Chelsea would be an also ran like the rest of us poor folk in the Premiership. There's only a 'big three', which pains me to say United are one with Arsenal and Liverpool the others.

I guess ManC will have to focus on staying away from the bottom three for the rest of the season, but I think it will surely be the bottom three teams that go down at the end of the season now.

 

Out of curiosity, did anyone here see the Barcelona - Madrid match at the weekend? Great game, the final score was 3-3, with Messi scoring a Hat-trick and Van Nistelrooy getting two, I forget the ohter scorer but it was one of the defenders of Real.

 

Barcelona tied it all up in the 90th minute, it looked like Madrid were going to get the win until there. Some great saves aswell from both keepers. You can tell why these two teams got knoced out of the Champions league, they were crap at defending.

Media is predicting Pearce has 2 games to save his job (Chelsea & Boro), something Pearce has denied but it could happen. If they lost these 2 matches it will be 7 in a row (all comps) and for a team of that history and reputation its really not enough. I do like Pearce as a manager but he really doesn’t have the players he wants right now.

 

We had another disappointing result last night. 2-0 up at home to Cardiff as usual we threw it away drawing 2-2 in the end which has severely dented our play-off hopes. 8 games to go and another big game against Colchester on Friday night, it could be another season in the Championship for us.

On Sky Sports News they said even if they win Chelsea and Boro, he is still not safe, either way i can see him going at the end of the season, might be worth a bet aswell, anyone now the odds.
