What a crazy game... First with our youngsters completely outplaying the best team money can buy... then JT getting popped in the face... and the brawl at the end. Not to mention a very questionable call on Drogba's first goal confused.gif

Eh, I can't really be bitter. I would've liked to win, but it would be hard enough for Arsenal's 1st team to beat Chelsea, much less the team we had today. They played well and played hard, but there was just a huge talent and experience gap... Anyways, onwards to the FA Cup!

The final was a good game, just the problems that occured were bad. As for the refree, he got the decisions wrong at the end of the game. For me, Kolo and Mikel sent off, Adebayor (WTF?) kept on, Fabregas off and eboue (spelling?) off too. Maybe a yellow for Lampard just for fun. tounge.gif

John Terry swallowed his tongue when he got kicked, it was very serious incident. Apparently something got thrown at Almunia at the other end at the same time too. As for the goal, I can clearly see that Drogba is on-side, I don't know what the commentators were thinking saying he was off.

PS: I wanted Arsenal to win too! mad.gif

There's going to be a lot of fines and stuff soon when the FA get hold of the video footage. The clubs will probally be charged with failing to control their players, so i'm sure we will see some more chrages to players.

Was good to see John Terry get cleared so soon after his incident, also was good too see the Arsenal players shouting for a Physio to come on.

I also wanted Arsenal to win. mad.gif

Must have been the only one who wanted Chelsea to win biggrin.gif

Just been watching the Reading v Man Utd FA Cup replay, any late joiners to watching the match would have missed most of it as Man Utd went 3-0 up after only 6 minutes! Reading did pull one back in the 23rd but it looks like Man Utd are through.

omgmiracle!

speaking of the gunners, it seems like we'll be without half of our team against Blackburn. We have many injuries including Henry and Rosicky, Wenger is resting some "overworked" players (like Fabregas), and we have the three suspensions on top of that. Eboue deserves it, and although he is obviously very skilled, his lack of proffesionalism is bothering me. If he doesn't mature soon I almost hope Arsene sells him and makes Hoyte (who has been impressive) a regular.

Toure, I don't know. I thought he maybe could have gotten a yellow. Adebayor definitely not. Yes, his reaction was aggressive, but I think anyone would be pissed if they were given a red card for no reason whatsoever.

Truly amazing. I forgot the match was on and I heard my dad cheering because thay scored. I went in and saw the goal and as soon as I went out they scored again. He said when you leave next time they'll score another. They did. lol.gif

It wasn't nice that's for sure, but lets relive the moment in this photo -

Ouch!

I'm more disturbed by the following photo. Fabregas is throwing an object originally thrown by the Chelsea fans back into the crowd. What's disturbing is that it looks like a yellow dildo!

Lol, I couldn't quite see what the object was during the match. From that photo though it doen look very familiar to a dildo. biggrin.gif

The Arsenal - Blackburn match is on tonight, I predict that Arsenal will take it, but there may be a suprise as thay are without:

Henry

Adebayor

Rosicky

Toure

Diaby

Looks like the second team will come in tonight.

EDIT: It's all over! Blackburn 1-0 Arsenal. I kinda feel bad for Arsenal, having all the injuries and stuff, but they should of won it at home. McCarthy scored a great shot in the 86th minute to win.

I was actually supporting Blackburn today. biggrin.gif Now Arsenal no what it's like getting dumped out of two cups in less than a week, and they could go out of 3 cups in a week if they gte beat by PSV in the Champions leage.

Edit: I think that yellow dildo thing might be Platty's. wow.gif

I'm really glad Arsenal got beat. Good to see that the underdogs had won, and not the favourite. I didn't see much of the match, but should there have been 2 penalty been awarded to Arsenal? Everyone in school keeps saying that.

I really hope that we can overcome PSV. Even if we lose in the next round, it would just be horrible to get knocked out of three competitions in such a short span of time. And with us being out of the Premiership race, all we'd have left to play for would be a top-4 finish...

As for your second point, though, I whole-heartedly agree with you icon14.gif . However, if I were Cesc, I would never have touched it....

Arsenals season does seem to be collapsing in a quick amount of time. If you don’t win the CL will this be two or three seasons in a row without any silverware? Wenger to be fired anyone?

Wohoo! An extremely lucky win against Liverpool, O'shea scoring in the 92nd minute. That win keeps us 9 points clear of Chelsea but they have a game in hand. Is there any more news on Rooney? I didn't see what happened. Scholes getting sent off doesn't help matters though. mad.gif

I think Arsenal will actually BEGIN their assault on the footballing world next year. Wenger has built a fantastic young team, come next year he will have 2 great players for every position at his call.

As for today, we got rather lucky. I watched the first half in the pub and could only pop back into another one just in time to see Scholes go off. I feel we won the premiership when O Shea hit the roof of the net.

We've got a difficult run-in though, mate. Bolton, City, Chelsea and Portsmouth all to come. If Chelsea keep pace and we drop a point or two, that Chelsea game could be the decider. Still, c'mon you reds.

Watched the United match last night and in all honesty we didn't deserve to win. Only caught the second half during work break but we were getting demolished in every area. Still, sign of champions is when you can win games when your on the back foot.

Just checked Chelsea upcoming fixture list and there final games are much harder than United's. Spurs twice, Arsenal, United, Bolton and Newcastle are notable games.

It's safe to say that the match between Chelsea and Man Utd at Stamford Bridge will decide the winners, it may not technically give whomever the title officially but it will be a big ask for Chelsea to catch up if Utd win.

Maybe not next year but in the next 2,3 years Arsenal are going to field a magnificent young side. If they can keep their current crop of young players at least. Fabregas looks a world beater everytime I see him play. Even after his 2 errors yesterday he was a cut above most players. If Arsenal go a goal down at home this week they will need 3 of their own to counter it. I hope Senderos is playing.

I want to believe that so much but if complacency sets in we could find ourselves running out of stea,m and struggling. Albeit this is United's usual time to come on strong in title races we could struggle striker wise when Larsson returns to Helsingborgs and without Scholes for the next 3 games..

On a lighter note...

OMG! How did West Ham lose that game? An amazing match, 2-0 to the Hammers in the first half, Spurs brought it back to 2-2, Zamora scored in the 85th minute, Berbatov scores on the 89th, and it was finished off in the 94th minute by Spurs with a fumbled save from green leaving a tap-in for him.

Wow! cry.gif

I think it very well could be next year. Obviously as they showed in the Carling Cup, the youngsters can already play with any side in the EPL. I think if you add that with the fact that by the law of probability we will not be so injury depleted next year (off the top of my head Henry, Rosicky, RVP, Gallas, and Ljungberg have all missed significant time. That's a lot of quality absent) we can definitely win the EPL.

As for PSV, I'm not too optimistic, because I can hardly remember the last time we kept a clean sheet. I can always pray for a hat-trick from the Beast though wink.gif

Out of the teams left in the Champions league, who do you think will get through? Here are my guesses:

Chelsea v FC Porto (agg 1-1)

Liverpool v Barcelona (agg 2-1) I don't know, hard one to guess?!?

Lyon v Roma (agg 0-0)

Valencia v Inter Milan (agg 2-2)

AC Milan v Celtic (agg 0-0)

Arsenal v PSV (agg 0-1)

Bayern Munich v Real Madrid (agg 2-3)

Man Utd v Lille (agg 1-0)

What does everyone else think?

I’d go for -

Chelsea

Barcelona

Lyon

Inter

Milan

PSV

Bayern Munich

Man Utd

I saw the highlights of the West Ham v Spurs game, really good match. Couldn’t have been comfortable to watch for either set of fans though! I’m in agreement though, Berbatovs freekick/chip was brilliant, keeper should have done better though.

Looks like UEFA are coming down hard on both teams though with fines expected for both and disciplinary fines for 5 players (Carlos Marchena, David Navarro, Nicolas Burdisso, Ivan Cordoba and Maicon).

Barcelona deserved f*ck all in that match yesterday, we battered them for 70 minutes, we were unlucky to lose one nil, the final score should of been like 4-1 easy.

Robbed twice at home in the space of 4-5 days. confused.gif

Good to see that three of the english teams have made it through, very sad about Arsenal and Celtic going out though. When PSV equalised it was always going to be hard for them to get through, as they would of needed two to win. Overall though, the Arsenal team could not score against PSV. tounge.gif

Also sad to watch Celtic to go out in extra time with Milan, thay had done so well to get the two 0-0 draws and one piece of horrible defending by one of the Celtic players gave Kaka an open chance.

As for Man Utd, thay played very bad but still got through. They gave the ball away to Lille every time they got it! mad.gif

As for the fight, he was lucky he was faster than the other players, they would of killed him if they had caught him.

Joey got it spot on, and I'm glad to see Bayern and Milan go through. I love it when Bayern get one over Real, true class showed by them tonight. Maldini and Milan are always second favourites of mine. Shame Arsenal didn't go through. Wait... who am I kidding? Another trophyless season for the gooners, wahey! Stick that in your afro, Adam.

We gave the ball away too much tonight, but Larsson showed his brilliance in signing off with a great header. Thank you very much indeed.

Should be a great draw for the quarter finals.
