88survivor
Everytime I hear Run DMC's songs like "Rock Box", "It's Like That", etc. or any Michael Jackson song on these car driving crime missions like VC, VCS, or New York City True Crime...I am always picturing any episode in Silver Spoons were Rick Schroder and Alfonso would talk about their Run DMC collection, the Moonwalk, Members' Only jackets, or any of the songs from Wildstyle(or Fresh FM)...it always takes back to the episodes of Silver Spoons where there is always breakdancing and good ol' school hip songs or instrumental. Like this one instrumental is from "Breakin'" ....from the movie, Breakin'(1984), featuring a small DJ cameo from Ice T. As silly as it sounds, I always imagine myself saying to these two, "Hey, Rick, Alfonso, breakdance to these songs on Wildstyle and Fresh FM." I am sure they can't do that anymore...but it'll be kind of funny. Sorry, but every Wildstyle song from VC reminds of a Silver Spoons episode...LOL

88survivor
By the way, anymore you can think of? The disco station doesn't look promising, though. So spill out the beans, people. Don't be shy...

scalliano
Are you kidding? There's nothing like cruising around in an old checker-cab listening to the sounds of Latin jazz. Back on-topic, I hate most of what's on V-Rock. I just listen to it to hear Lazlow get dumped on by Couzin Ed. The V-Rock playlist from the original Vice was way better. And that's 2 Vice City games with no Queen or Don Henley's "Boys Of Summer". Disgraceful. (Maybe I'm giving away my age here ...)

gameroftheuk
Espantoso from VC for PS2 was memorable, I like the song La Vida Es Una Lenteja, Mambo Mucho Mambo, A Gonzar Con Rico Mambo etc. From now on Gta should get rid of all hip hop/rap from their radio station cuz it's making my ears bleed and waste memory space. You've got to have variety to make everyone happy I just don't find rap to be appealing, it's always about crime and gangs and drugs and is up to no good with a lot of profanity and vulgarity, if u listen to it too much, you'll have a problem and get into trouble with the law. Despite playing GTA, dont relate to that as an excuse, games are way different than music, music can mess with your mind.

Rap is very popular and it would be unfair to say that the only people who listen to it are criminals

I mean I like affectionate and emotional songs, maybe I should listen to some rap, to learn the culture of those group of people.

88survivor
I was born in the Bronx in '83, but raised in Yonkers. I grew up with the sounds of old school hip hop back in the days. I was also very diverse in every 80s genre that I listened to. It could be pop, pop rock, hair metal music, you name it. I was hooked. Five years old and on the corner of White Plains Rd, there was that old video rental store where it had an arcade of Willow or Castlevania. Hearing the music of the Fat Boys, Run DMC, Afrika Bambaataa, Kurtis Blow, Man Parrish, and all the other old school artist of the day. Good times...I remember spending three dollars on my money playing arcade games of the day. Good times of White Plains Rd. Sad to say that video rental store became a Dunkin Donuts now...man, the hours I spent on those cool arcade games in the late 80s... And the music didn't affect me at all. I was just a simple five year old kid who was addicted to all types of 80s music. I have an amazing grasp for music, even at my age or way before I was five. Nightrage
I think rap does mess with yout mind, caus most of the people that I know who listen to it are arrogant and think they are great and stuff, just like the things they sing about in rap, that people think they are better then anyones else and that it is very cool to smoke pod and steal and be a "gangsta".and i HATE that. I thinks games/music can make you think about stuff and then you maybe change your personaly yourself. I like very open music that could have several meanings,so you need to think. Not music that is telling you how great it is to be a gangsta and how many girls that rapper has had. I think the games did most to me where MGS2 en MGS3 they really made me think about stuff.
Carlito_Brigante
Hip-Hop from '84 (and before that) does not have any gangster references in it. So UkGamer you should stop bitchin' about it. You sound bitter as hell about Hip-Hop. I'm not really a fan of it, but if you think Hip-Hop f*cks with your mind, what about all the stories about kids blowing their brains out or goin' crazy 'cause of Rock songs. You should respect everyone's musical taste regardless if you like it yourself.
