If Vic wasn't dead in the start of VC, then Tommy would've been rivals with him, which proves he died at the start.

Say for example, he was alive and still running almost all the underworld in Vice City, then Tommy would be butting heads with him big time during his takeover.

Nah nah nah Gta 6

Actually he probably would of been buddies with Vic, or just allies, since they did a deal together, and if the deal went right, the Forelli's would of moved or expanded to Vice city while having the Vance crime family as allies.

I'm pretty sure Tommy is too mean and takeover-ish to be buddies with the kind, go with the flow Vic. My bet is Tommy would've off'ed him eventually.

Maybe so but if he was the same guy as he was in '84 then they'd probably be friends.

I mean he was friends with Lance within a minute (albeit he did threaten him).

Vic had a lot of controll over most of the areas in Vice though so he might not take such a big risk and just go with the flow. I think that the Forrelies would have declared war before Tommy. Tommy would have to join up in the fight agains Vic and take over his empires because he works for Sonny. That is how I would see it going down.

Considering Vic wanted out, I imagine they'd have a deal where Vic would take enough money to comfortably retire and hand over the city to Tommy.

Vice City criminal

Yeah, there's almost no reason to Vic still running his operations after the events of VCS.

Naw Vic is too badass to die. He was a military man. You think someone in the military could die that easily? It was his brother Pete.

Hey Rockstar! I've been a huge fan of Vice City... and was wondering; is that Victor Vance who is gunned down in the intro of Vice City? All sources seem to say "yes", but no official word has been given on that.

Yup... that's Vic. After having been dragged back into the Vice City criminal underworld by his brother Lance following the events of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories, Vic Vance dies in the ambush that occurs in the opening scene of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.

So their brother is a 50+ year old Columbian Hispanic? Maybe a brother from another mother... LOL I just can`t imagine him saying "Hellooooooo, I`m Peeeeete Vaaaaaaaance!" In that Spanish accent for real. I have no idea who that guy was but he couldn`t have been less black and more Hispanic and middle aged!

Vic is the one who dies. Rockstar took out VCS and so they changed their mind and brought a new character Peter Vance. It would look real bad if they made everyone play a game of protagonist who was already dead. Rockstar did what was good for Business.

Ironically it could be Pete because Vic and Lance already paid Bills for Pete to be cured in "The Last Stand".

But TBH Vic Dies.

Thats it... :(

HOW'S ANNIE?

This is almost as bad as the people in the V section who want a DLC where Johnny survives his beating and takes revenge on Trevor. I like both our dead protagonists, but it's just not happening.

So what if Vic looks and sounds different? According to pre-release promo news articles Vic and Lance have been living on a farm in Panama for two years. Who says that Vic didn't let himself go, grow hair and pick up the accent from locals? (Well the last one is a bit of a stretch, but still)

It was Vic as much as I have to say it. Rockstar admitted it. They do make really stupid and pointless decisions.

It was Vic who was killed in the GTA VC introduction. GTA VC came out before VCS, and when Rockstar Games set to make VCS, the voice actor who voiced Vic in the introduction didn't want to voice Vic, so they gave him a new personality.

Cops was interessing him to much so he have a plastic surgery. He also learned accent from Panama workers. About the age I think this was made by stress. He loose his empire, his girlfriend was killed and he live with Lance. It is too much even for guy like Vic.

It makes you think though, did Rockstar ever intend on doing anything more with whos-now-known-as-vic when they were making Vice City outside of that one cutscene?

I'm not sure, there was a 4 year gap and they managed to pull off a pretty good story for VCS and they changed quite an amount of elements for the game. I feel like they knew their direction.

Ps. not sure if I misunderstood your question.

In 2002 Vic literaty doesn't excist. They create only a model to kill and 4 years later they have an idea to create personality for him.

It was stupid for R* to name him Vic in VCS. After Louise is killed by things he was reluctant to do in the first place, it's very hard to believe he'd go back to crime.

No, they guy who voiced Vic was diseased in that time, so seems like an hispanic guy replaced him with that strange accent. And about appearence; Rockstar logic.

"No, that's not Vic. It's Pete. Can't you see obvious appearance differences between them?

After Pete was cured at the events of the story, Vic decided to retire from crime and escape from his annoying brothers, moved out to Panama with a large portion of money he earned. He left his crime family to the hands of Pete and Lance, which both of them not good at managing and ended up losing all of the assets at the city."

I would really do bad things for this confirmation message.

^I'm sorry if you feel that way, but Rockstar confirmed a while ago (+5 years) that Vic died in the exchange and nothing can change that.

The differences between his VC and VCS renditions were necessary to polish him as a playable character, just like Toni in the previous game.

Honestly, I don't understand why this thread is still open.

So Rockstars story is that Vic was dragged back into crime by his brother after he promised it would never happen? There are three reasons why I prefer this wasn't the case:

- It was done in a better, more fleshed out way with Johnny in GTA IV and V. With five years instead of just two, it's more believable that he would throw his principles behind and move to LS with his awful girlfriend.

- Vic lost someone he fell in loved with as a result of doing things he never really wanted to do in the first place. It's kind of stupid to think he'd go back to crime with the character that's been established for him. He was never truly meant for crime in the first place.

- Vic looks and sounds different, and he was never the type to happy-go-luckily say "pure grade-A columbian, my friend!" Unless it was sarcastic or ironic.

All in all the whole thing just doesn't mesh well enough for me to seriously look at it like it's canon. And I know it is, but still.
