Pat
Brad Hopkins was always a good kid. He got good grades, all the teachers liked him, ect. Everything just seemed to go his way. Amber Parker was always a little on the "odd" side. All her friends knew she had "problems". She had already gone out with four men, whom she had claimed had "Pushed her too far". She dumped them, and the next day they went missing, or so the rumors say. Most people didn't believe it, but Amber's friends knew the truth. The moral of the story? Dont push Amber. Brad will be her fifth boyfriend, her just moving to North Dakota. They met in French class, and five days later agreed on going to the coffee shop together... "Push" is a horror story about Brad, the good kid, and Amber, the bad kid. Will Brad be the first to make it away? Will he believe the rumors? And what really goes on in Amber's house? No one's been inside, but people have noticed the basement windows are always covered up. Did we meansion every house she buys has a basement? Chapter 1 Brad stirs awake, and looks at his digital clock/calender. Brad: Sweet, it's saturday! Brad gets out of bed, and picks up a pair of jeans from the floor. He slips them on, then slips a T-Shirt on that was on his bed. He walks downstairs into the kitchen to see his mother, Janet Hopkins, cooking breakfast. Mrs.Hopkins: How'd you sleep last night dear? Brad: Good mom, thanks. Brad grabs a plate and puts two peices of bacon, along with some eggs on it. Mrs.Hopkins: So what's on the agenda for today? Brad sits down at the table. Brad: Well, I promissed Amber I'd meet her at the coffee shop at 9:30. Mrs.Hopkins: Well Brad, it's 8:45, so you better get going! Brad: I know mom, I know. Brad finishes his breakfast fifteen minutes later, and walks upstairs to his bedroom. He grabs his cellphone and carkeys off the dresser, and walks back down stairs. He walks into the living room, when his dad, who is sitting on the couch, calls out to him. Mr.Hopkins: Where you going, sport? Brad: Just to the coffee shop, to see Amber. Mr.Hopkins: Oh. Have a good time then. Brad exits his house, and walks to the garage. He gets into his 89 Honda Accord and starts it. He then backs out of the garage and heads for the coffee shop. Amber sits at her booth, stirring her latte with her spoon. She looks out the window into the snowy November day. She sighs. Amber: Where is he? He better not be late... Amber's grip on the coffee cup tightens. Amber: Because if he's late... All of a sudden, Brad's Accord pulls into the spot outside her window. She sees him get out, grins, then looks to the right. She then hears the door open, and she picks up her spoon and uses it as a mirror to see what Brad's doing. He's talking to the woman behind the counter. A few seconds later, she points in Amber's direction and Brad starts walking that way. He sits down across from Amber. Brad: Hi Amber. Amber: Hey! Brad: So.. How was your morning? Amber: Good.. Good. Amber continues to stir her Latte. Brad: So, where'd you move from? Amber: Orgeon. Brad: Well, that's a pretty far ways away! Amber: Not really.. Brad: Mhm.. So.. A waitress walks up to the table. Waitress: What can I get you? Brad: I'll have a decaff mocha, and.. Amber, what do you want? Amber: I'm good, thank you. The waitress walks off. Brad: So.. How was your trip here? Amber: Fine.. Thank you. Amber's grip on her mug tightens even more. She is clearly frusterated by him only asking about how she moved here. All she remembers about her old house is the basement, and those horrible, inhuman screams. How her dad would come up, with an evil grin on his face, and how she would grin back.. Brad: Amber.. Amber.. AMBER! Are you OK? You're squeezing your mug kind of tigh... All of a sudden, the mug cracks from the pressure Amber put on it. Amber: Oh no, look what I did! So clumsy of me.. Amber grabs a napkin and starts to clean it up. Brad: Here, let me.. Amber: I've got it... Amber's voice is full of hate, so Brad sits down and shuts up. Brad: So... Amber: Is there anything you want to talk about other than how I moved here? Brad: ... Amber: Men.. Amber finishes wiping up the latte, when the waitress comes back to the table and hands Brad his mocha. Brad: Thank you. Waitress: Your welcome sir. Brad grins at her, and she walks away. Amber: WHAT WAS THAT ALL ABOUT?! Amber stands up and slams her fists on the table. Brad: What?! Amber: DONT PLAY DUMB WITH ME. YOU WERE CHECKING HER OUT! YOU DONT LIKE ME DO YOU? Amber sits down and starts her fake crying act. Brad stands up and puts an arm on her shoulder. Brad: Hey, it's ok. I was just thanking her for bringing me my mocha. I would never check her out, especially since I dont even know her. I mean, we just met! Amber: WE JUST MET HUH?! YOU DONT LIKE ME BECAUSE WE JUST MET?! Brad: I DIDN'T SAY THAT! WELL, MAYBE I DID, BUT I MEANT THE WAITRESS! Amber: OH, SO NOW YOU TWO MET? I THOUGHT YOU SAID SHE ONLY BROUGHT YOU YOUR MOCHA! Brad: AMBER, JUST CALM DOWN! I STILL WANT TO DATE YOU! Amber: Really? Brad: Yes! Amber smiles, with satisfaction inside, thinking about how easy it is to trick men. Amber: Hey, you want to go to my house? Brad: Uhh.. Sure. Amber smiles, and Brad smiles back. Brad starts to finish his Mocha, and the two get up. Brad pays for the coffees, and they walk outside and get into his car. Brad starts it, and heads for Amber's house. Chapter 2 coming soon! Btw, if you couldn't tell, this story will kind of shift from character to character. Like, the book "Flipped". Only, it will still be in third person. Think of it as.. Second person.
