Stuck on "Jive Drive"

I'm stuck on Jive Drive and was wondering if any1 here as any hints/tips for me to pass this mission without cheats.

Yeah, when the 2 cars come after you, try and burst out one or both back tires instead of spending ages shooting the entire car, they should swerve outta control and you won't get hit much

Thanks m8 that has really helped, i can do it every time now, and i here u saying "why do it more than once" well thats the annoying bit i'm stuck on the bit after when u have to kill the cholos, done it 9 times now and something happens everytime 3x i died, 4x Lance died & 2x it glitched and lance got stuck on/in a dumpster, lol.

I'm stuck on this one as well. I've spent all day fiddling around with it. I've had Lance die about 6 times from the Cholos, I died about 5, and Lance wouldn't get into a car and died twice. This is definitely a case of the game being flawed and not the player. Lance has to freakin stop running into the crossfire and learn to stay BEHIND me. Stupid Lance. I hope he dies eventually

Rofl, I was stuck on that part too. Get full armor or finish the Vigilante missions first and get max armor. Also, use the AK-47 or M4A1. Very useful on that mission. I passed that mission, thanks to the AK-47.

This will help you pass the mission, with a few trys.. hands down

 

First get armor, then start the mission. Once you start shooting guys, run to a Cholo car and steal it. From here on it is easy as hell, all you need to do is run the Cholo's over

I'm stuck on this one as well, but I'll try the M4 or AK47. One thing for all to remember; if you've been fortunate enough to finish off the Cholos, you more than likely have a 2 star wanted level with the cops. It's useless to jump into the nearest Cholo car to escape, as the umpteen times I've done this, Lance's silly @$$ won't get into Cholo rides, at least during the mission. Your best bet is to beat feet out of the alley and find a ride without Lance getting stuck or falling behind.

I ran behind one of the dumpster things, slowly edged out and shot the Cholos, that way Lance stays behind cover.

what I did was .... as soon as the stinger blows up...

 

 

and the cutscene ends... i ran stole a cholo sabre... lance got in..

 

 

 

I drove lance to the hide out ... parked car in garage.

ran out to fast for lance to get out.

 

locked him in garage... got another car whent and got armor at amunation.

 

 

whent back and plowed down as many cholos as possible.. then whent back

and opened garage to get lance and drove him to the hotel.

Yes this mission really shows the games dodgy AI. Most of the time Lance would get killed or I would get busted whilst waiting for Lance to get in my car after I killed all the Cholos.

 

I passed the mission by 1st managing to kill all the Cholos then when the cops came I jumped in a car, ditched lance, went to the pay n' spray then I went back and picked up lance - much easier.

yea this game totally blows!,

i bought it 1st thing friday morning, updated it, played it until i got up to this mission, passed it, and as i was driving to take lance to the hotel, the game glitched!,

i reset the psp, only to discover the psp, bricked, and now it wont switch on at all, wtf has happened

 

ps. i didnt downgrade or cheat at all,

i called sony up, they 'REALLY' helped me out...not.

 

turns out that the lcd screen is fukd, dunno how the hell that happened, so now i gotta try and find someone to fix it, does anyone know of a place in perth WA? and how much am i looking at?

i got stuck on this mission and gave up on the game and deleted my save file entirley because of this stupid mission i tried it 20 times anbd failed evertime can someone post a save data where this is the last mission completed upload files here and thanks because i can't beat this mission and i wanna advance in the game. i almost broke my psp trying to beat this one mission i threw it at the wall

People the mission was not that hard. I don't see any reason to be throwing your PSPs at the wall. I beat it on my second time, but only because the game glitched and Lance wouldn't follow me into the car. He just kept on running into the wall until he got stuck in it. Anyways, this is what you should do:

 

Remember that using the L button while aiming at pursuing cars moves the target slower so it's not all over the place.

 

I didn't have to, but shooting the tires does help.

 

Make sure you've got armor for the second part. You can find some on a dock to the east of the main strip, just keep driving along the grass until you see it.

 

Lance's health wasn't a problem for me, I just went and shot the nearest Cholos with the Uzi. If you really need it though theres a free AK on the top of the police station in Downtown.

 

Also watch out for cops, I almost got busted once. Did anyone notice theres a hell of a lot of cops driving or walking around in VCS?

"Jive Drive"

 

Pull up into the marker at the airport and you'll get your first glimpse of

your brother, the infamous Lance Vance. I've got to say that I liked his

character a whole lot better in the original Vice City. Vice City Stories

has made him a complete idiot. As you will soon discover (and tire of),

wherever Lance goes, trouble follows. You will get ambushed by Cholos and

Lance magically has a car waiting here. In this mission, Lance will drive

and you will take care of the pursuing Cholos with an SMG that has unlimited

ammo. You are automatically placed in targeting mode and you now have to

blow up persuing Cholo vehicles and Cholos on foot at various points along

the route, all while Lance drives like an asshole. The car you are in will

have a damage meter, and you need to keep the attackers away from you so

that the car survives a trip. Lance will occasionally take you over a

couple of large jumps which will give you a brief rest, but not for long.

When you have reached a point far enough north (somewhere in the vicinity of

the brothel), Lance will make one final jump for an escape, of sorts. I

don't know if this was just by chance, or if it happens every time, but the

car was almost wasted when we hit this jump and continued to take damage

during the cut scene. As the cut scene continued with Lance and Vic walking

away from the car, the car blew up during the cut scene. As I said, I don't

know if that happens every time or if I just managed to get through by a

hair.

 

Once you are out of the car, you will be attacked by some more Cholos who arrive to block the exit of the area you have landed in. You now have a meter on the screen indicating Lance's health, and you must fend off the Cholos while making sure that Lance survives. Cholos will come at you from three different sides, so keep your eyes on your radar for the red markers.Don't look to Lance for too much help. He won't be. Ever. At any point in the game. Before the end of the game, you will wish YOU could kill him. When the attacking Cholos have been killed, grab a vehicle and hit the

closest Pay N Spray to get rid of any wanted level you may have picked up, then drive up into downtown to drop Lance off at his hotel which is near the recording studio that you first met Love Fist in the first Vice City

game. You have completed the mission when Lance is safely at the hotel.

You will get a page from Umberto Robina who has heard that you are now running Marty's gang, and he'd like some help from you. Umberto's mission

marker now appears on your map. Louise's marker is back as well.

Yeah i used the AK-47 and it helped me tremendously on that mission. I passes Jive Drive after about 4 tries

Lance's so stupid, I was glad Tommy Vercetti killed him.

 

I didn't had any problems with this mission. It was plain easy, if you had ever played 'Supply Lines' in San Andreas, this mission should not even be a problem. Glitches do happen sometimes. If you fail only because of a glitch, like me, it's excusable. But if it is because you sucked at playing missions, you have no one else to blame but you, or the sucky Vice City Stories Walkthrough you were reading. Listen to me, never trust guides. Only turn to it if you are, let's say;

 

1. Stuck at 95% to 99%.

2. Fustrated trying to find the last few Red Balloons.

3. Stuck at doing the last few Rampages and Unique Stunts.

4. Don't know what's next in store for you, let's say you don't know what else you need to do in order to get 100% completion.

 

Other than that, guides just simply suck, and you're on your own. Ever since Gamefaqs.com was up on the net and those companies writing Video Game guides like Brady Games had a major drop in sales profits, Quality Guides became Extinct. Online Guides are of not decent quality, except for the ones found at GTAForums, of course, and those written by Brady Games are of "Slackened" Quality.
