Hi again. I have some problems with Devhook 0.44 (i want to use this).

 

Whenever i load up devhook, and try to run a UMD, the screen goes black and crashes, or it shows the PSP logo and then crashes. Im really stuck here and i badly need to get devhook running before tomorrow when i get VCS. PLEASE HELP ME!!!!

 

Tell me any steps to take to ensure it works please!

yeah just set the setting 2 udm and then it will load the udm but im not sure thats wat it is thats messin u up

I dont have the 2.71 DATA.psar on my root, do i need it there to start up games?

idk you can just download devhoook 4.6 but not in the instaler way so that you can do it your self

There is a program that will automatically install DevHook and the decrypted 2.71 firmware really easily, but I don't know if I'm allowed to give you its name or a link to it here...

its called devhook ultimate installer you can get it off www.psp-hacks.com and go on the download section then all you have to do is plug you psp into the usb and then run the ultimate installer on your pc and it will do it all for you

Well, I guess that solved the problem of linking to it myself... But yeah, DevHook UI is what you're after. Don't bother with firmware 2.6, it hasn't worked for most people I've spoken to. Just install DH 0.46 and firmware 2.71.

if your using devhook, you must dump the umd

 

if you want to use the umd instead, upgrade to 2.71SE-B''

that version alows to play the umd,

 

and then you use coldbird's prx flasher for 2.71se, and flash cheatdevice

 

and thats all basically

DrySushi:yeah that happened 2 me but i was at 2.71 se 3 so i just went back 2 1.5 and then upgraded again but u have 1.5 so i dont know but u can try upgradeing 2 like 2.0 then downgradeing back 2 1.5 that might work otherwise u wont be able 2 play anything

how many .prx's do you have installed?

if there are too many the game will crash.

So you can still use CD for VCS if you are on 2.71 SE B'' running the actual UMD? You just run the risk of bricking since you have to flash the CD prx to the the 2.71 SE B'' firmware as opposed to the safety of flashing an emulated firmware through devhook right?

When I tried to change the CPU speed, it kept switching back to 222Mhz. Probably it's DevHook doing it.

Yes devhook does this, make sure in devhook you set the cpu to ( none ) or ---...

 

This means devhook will not intervene with the cpu, in other words, if u loaded devhook with a shell that had your cpu set to 333mhtz, 2.71 will not load.

 

Try using the no cpu option to load.

 

Also, anyone requiring detailed help in the installation updates/downgrades and legit methods of finding what you need, feel free to pm me, if your situation warrants it i will gladly get you into contact on msn/yahoo/aim/irc etc.

@edison, think you could add a simple jump to pointer thing to the hex editor?

Would save us from having to enter the address of the pointer to get to it, and more importantly going to the address of the pointers is hard for us euro users, as we can't just enter the address it says, because then it leads us to the wrong address.

 

I've been using my own hex editor and then trying to find the same part of memory in yours, but it's a pain having to use 2 hex editors just to find the address.

 

Something like just if you're pointing on the first byte in a pointer then you can press [] and it will jump to that address shouldn't be to hard to implent.

Hiho...Could please someone tell me how this works? I mean...The LCS thing worked fine, but here: I run the installer, then i wait about a minute, i pull it of, i start the game, but theres no cheat savegame...What do i do wrong? And by the way:

 

Could please, please PLEASE someone figure out how to cheat the camera? I really like the cam, and it is good for screens. So, please someone do this..I would be so glad...

I want to use the UMD. Its the EU Version. Ok...I flash it, and then it works? Or what else do i have to do? What do i have to press ingame? L + d pad up? And if there are updates...I have to flash it every time new, right?

 

Question:

 

Is it all? Just flash the prx, and then press L + Up?
