Vanilla Shake
It's hard to believe that 4 years have passed since gamers across the world were first thrown onto the glamorous yet treacherous streets of Vice City, as almost everyone's favorite GTA character to date: Tommy Vercetti. And as PSP owners prepare to be thrown back onto those same streets as Vic Vance with Vice City Stories on the horizon, October certainly is a special month for the city of Vice... Happy 4th Birthday, GTA: Vice City! Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/259829-happy-birthday-vice-city/ Share on other sites

Demarest
Birthday 4 for GTA 4. Cool. I'm a GTA3 man myself, but I'll be damned if VC wasn't responsible for some pretty big things for me. Ben
Like Demarest I happen to be a GTA3 man. Unlike Demarest, I'm not THE GTA3 man . Anyway, I still have a soft spot for VC. There's something cool about it, and without it, a project such as LC wouldn't have been possible, so for that I'm thankful. Unfortunately for it though, it will never live up to GTA3 in my eyes. Happy Birthday anyway . Oh, and seeing as I had 2 sh*tty exams today, I figure I might as well have a drink. So I guess I'll drink to VC as well . Ben raises glass. saintdave
This is the 3rd GTA birthday in recent weeks following on from GTA 3 first, then LCS and now the brilliant VC. Its hard to actually pin my favourite GTA but this would be very high among the most played, replayed and searched for all extras available. Hard to believe it's 4 years old but after this time still holds its own in the gaming world. Happy Birthday! Spuds725
VC was my first GTA and my first return to console gaming after a very long absence-- none of the others have reproduced how I felt when discovering and playing VC... I've loved some of the improvements in the other GTAs, but you never forget your first love... It managed to capture the essence of the 80s and the other GTAs music can't hold a candle to VCs... Music, voice talent, eastereggs were all topnotch in VC While Rockstar can and has improved upon the gaming experience in other GTAs, I don't know if they can ever impress me the way they did with VC-- its the stick I use to measure other GTAs....I personally hope they do.. VC makes me wish for amnesia so I can "discover" it again... Pranjal
Some of the unique features in Vice City which I still miss are: Tool Shops- Shop tools till you drop. Pizza Boy missions- Delivering Pizzas right to your doorsteps Keepie Uppy beach ball- I spent hours playing that. 3C Apartment with that bloody room. Sunny weather and clear skies (SA look so dull) Great stunting(No one can rival it ) $50 Good Citizen Bonus(Killed Thousands ) The Skimmer (better than SA) Leaf Links (Clubbing Golfers ) Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/259829-happy-birthday-vice-city/#findComment-3924200 Share on other sites

Archaon, Lord of End Times
Damn, I must check the VC topic more often. I have to say a happy belated birthday to my favorite GTA of all time, the first GTA I beat, and the one that introduced my favorite GTA main character to date, Tommy Vercetti and my favorite GTA car to date, the Sabre Turbo. Thanks to you GTA VC, for all the good memories. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/259829-happy-birthday-vice-city/#findComment-3930289 Share on other sites
GM Dude
Glad to see my favorite GTA game has reached the age of 4 . I've been playing it since late 2004, but didn't play it too often until summer '05. After that, I got hooked. I hope Rockstar makes another Vice City-based game after VCS. That's it. I just love it to death. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/259829-happy-birthday-vice-city/#findComment-3930565 Share on other sites

The Phantom Menace
Hah, I can't believe I didn't see this topic sooner. I'm a really big fan of the 1980's, so to have a video game that was set in the 80's was completely fantastic. It's already been mentioned in this thread, but I really loved the attention to detail that the developers put in to re-create the 1980's, it was absolutely spot on. The music, the clothes, and just the general atmosphere of the whole thing made it an absolutely amazing game to play. I think I'd have to agree with Spuds and say that the soundtrack in Vice City has to be one of, if not THE best in the entire series. I just loved doing nothing but listening to the soundtrack; Sometimes, I would even stop playing all together and leave the game on pause just to listen to it without the distraction of the traffic, or the pedestrians. Without a doubt, Vice City has to be one of the best GTA's ever made. Before VC, I was a huge fan of GTA III, and still am to a degree, but after discovering the wonder of Vice City it didn't take long for my decision to change.Well, there's nothing left for me to say other than happy belated birthday, Vice City.
