lurchseesu420
trimming the car with a 911 carrera engine, and dual webber 45's and we're good to go. Webber doesn't make a 45 mm carb. They make 44's and 48's. Dellorto makes a 45 though. @ everyone - And all 911's through the 993 were air cooled. The 959 and 935 Moby Dick had water cooled heads though. AZSupraT
and dual webber 45's and we're good to go. Didn't the water cooled 911's have electronic fuel injection? This was on the newer 911's. the 930 model onward, me thinks.
lurchseesu420
Most first gen. 911's used mechanical fuel injection. I think the same goes for the 930's.
stretch.
For those up on trivial car chatter, Bill Gates, he of Microsoft fame, was very, very keen on getting a Porsche 911 based Twin Turbo 959 exoticar into his own garage in Seattle, but the laws required several of the 959 Stuttgart cars to be tested for impact and essentially written off. Porsche Car Company decided that was too costly to be worth the effort so few if any made it Stateside. Only about two years ago did they make the trek in some revised capacity I read in "Excellence" Magazine .. I believe, dedicated to all things Porsche related. The 959 was always a favorite of mine as well and mainly for it's wide body IMSA style fenders and stance. In the end, I could see MS's DLC request one of these cars for GTA 4 <G>!! Illustrator David Kimble's famous cutaway above^ Just thought I'd point out that Gates got special dispensation from Bill Clinton to import his. When he was the richest man in america, and donates more to charity than the american government, he has a bit of leeway.

lurchseesu420
I'm looking at their websites and can't find any 45's. http://www.webercarbsdirect.com/Carburetors_s/2.htm Dellorto makes one though.

lurchseesu420
I call shenanigans. I should've worded it better. The 45 DCOE isn't for a Porsche or a VW. I meant they don't make a 45 MM carb for a flat 4 or flat 6. They do make 45mm sidedrafts for other cars. But obviously, you can't really put a sidedraft on boxer (unless maybe you turboed it). So I should've said that Weber doesn't make a 45mm downdraft carb. So in the end, I f*cked myself with my wording and ate those words. AZSupraT
I never said they came with webber 45's. They do fit in the bug's 1600cc dual-carb engine, because i have seen them on. They dont make it specifically for flat fours and sixes, but you can see them on those cars as they're not rare. It was not fit to be on a porsche's engine, but with some adaptations it can go. Hell, I've seen a quadrijet on an 1700cc bug engine. So you really cant doubt anything.
lurchseesu420
I've also seen a big eldelbrock 4 barrel on a beetle. But it's still a downdraft carb. And weber's 45 only comes as a sidedraft. The only sidedraft carbs I've seen on bugs are on custom turbocharged engines. But Dellorto made a 45 downdraft carb for bugs which is pretty similar to a Weber IDF 44 for the most part. Webbers are the coolest. I had a 74 vw 1300cc engine with 84mm pistons (i dont know what it's called up there), taxed heads (cabessote taxeado, in spanish), and two webber 40's. To trim it up, I had whitewalls, tinted windows and porsche chrome rims. Twas a pretty cool car till I had to sell it to finish paying college. Kyle17
I've said it before & I'll say it again, DeLorean DMC-12. Greatest car ever. However, they are hard to come by, so I may just settle for a 1964 Mustang or a 1969 Charger RT. I sure do love the muscle car.
