Since we haven't found the addresses for anything yet, the built in cheats will be disabled to start with and it'll just be the Cheat Maker features, so this will be a developer release. As addresses get found, and it won't take long, I'll enable the features. Yeah, I bit the bullet and upgraded. Mostly because I cannot for the life of me wrap my head around using a custom firmware application. I'll be (im)patiently waiting until 2.81 is cracked, hacked, and raped of it's worth. That's discouraging... all you have to do is emulate 2.71 through DevHook. For the moment you have to dump the ISO, but then it works without a hitch. It took over a year for the last kernel exploit. It's likely we will be playing GTA4 on the PS3 before 2.81 is cracked, if ever. How large is the iso anyway (I have a 1gb memory stick). Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Posted November 1, 2006 Share Posted November 1, 2006 if you wish to run devhook then you can update to 2.71 and use the instructions and eboots provided by me on page 4 of this topic p.s. eboots are not made by me. im just providing the links heres a quote saying what i said ok it appears that people are a lttile confused on how the cheats are run through 2.71. downgrading isnt neccesary 1.5 users use devhook 0.46 to emulate 2.71 and use the files edisoncarter is set to release. (patch may be required depending on firmware that VCS is released with) 2.71 users tested all files below unless stated you could downgrade to 1.5 OR you could do whats below download the following files:HEN revision C 1.5 dump 2.71 devhook launcher a pack is available made by zephyrus which contain all hen c and devhook starter files although i haven't test this particalur file Zephyrus pack Devhook 0.46 ultimate installer (contains 2.71 with dump) USING HEN C IS VERY VERY UNLIKELY TO BRICK YOUR PSP AS IT ONLY WRITES TO FLASH ONCE BUT THERE IS A VERY SMALL RISK. dArK_aLeX SAID HIMSELF THAT THE CHANCES OF BRICKING ARE VERTIALY ZERO. PLEASE USE ASSOCIATED READ ME FILES FOR ASSISTANCE. use devhook launcer 2.71 to emulate 1.5 then run devhook 0.46 in the emulated 1.5 and use devhook 0.46 to emulate 2.71 then use any other files required. (patch may be required depending on firmware that VCS is released with) This may not be the fully final way that a VCS cheatdevice functions but running VCS through devhook is quite a likely path. TXF Posted November 1, 2006 Share Posted November 1, 2006 Damn, this sucks. There is'nt a working solustion for getting VCS to work on a lower FW without having the ISO. I only have a 512MB mem stick. about 300 MB left on it. So obviously I don't have enough room to use the ISO anyway. And i'm getting the game tomarrow as a b-day present. I dont get why this isnt working, I cant get anything to work. Im pretty pissed about all sh*t and I never got to play. If you have socom, keep trying the disk swap trick until you get it right and then don't exit VCS until a better way comes out. If you don't have socom, try all the other games you have. There's probably others that will work. There's a USB version of DevHook that lets you use your computer instead of a memory stick. The PSP can load the ISO directly off your computer hard drive through the USB. You could use that. Fastloader lets you dump in 2 parts. You can dump one half then the other half, them put them together with copy /b half1.iso + half2.iso. The standard rip techniques get the size down around 800MB. I'll be buying the English release on Friday, but its pretty pointless if the umd doesn't work. I think the version changer could do the trick, why don't you try one edison?
