Holy Crap my first tough GTA mission

Ive played every GTA game there is and no other mission has given me so much trouble before. Someone help me f*cking out Ive been playing this frustrating job for 2 hours on and off.

 

Must prolly because its the first time Im using a ps2.

 

I tried shotgunning the peeps but before i can make a break for it, i get pwnd by the rest of the mob. The only method I found effective was batting each of them down. This is not foolproof however, every so often I miss and get sawed. Forcing a restart.

 

I reached the part where I need to kill V (once). But he takes a few shots at me and Im dead.

Did you fing the colt python on the way into the ship?? (after starting the mission)...

 

Another good way is to do firefighter first so you are fireproof and get a bunch of molotovs-- located in the rubble of the building you blow up

 

keep moving and stay away from the doors...

Spuds mentions the Colt Python and for me that is the best weapon for the chainsaw wielding men at least.

 

Stay in the centre of the room and just continue to turn and lock onto each target, the earlier you can target them the better as the Colt takes them out in one shot which allows you to move on to the next target just as quick. The final fight against Vinnie requires a more rapid fire weapon so use any kind of machine gun and keep moving, he’s very relentless so make sure you have a good amount of armor on.

Theres also armour on the ship which is really helpful.

 

Hide behind the crates when you attack whats his name, get a shotgun and BOOM he's gone.

so you say the python is effective? i thought about that but never really tried it. i was thinking low rate of fire and huge incoming mob does not equal win.

 

ya i come in fully armored but most the time, i get the armored sawed off me. this armor you speak of is somewhere outside the ship is it?

When you enter the yellow marker, you appear inside the ship, if you look down the right side of the hallway there is two passages, one containing the Colt Python. When you are going down the first pair of steps, the armour is on a passageway to the left before you go down the final pair of steps into the layer.

 

That should keep you protected from the chainsaw men.

oya that one. i saw it but didint take it coz i already have one equipped. but i cant go back in there once the sawing starts. =(

A very tricky mission indeed. And guess what? You have to do it twice more as a side mission called "Slash TV", (if you want 100%).

 

But here's the trick: Use the colt, or a shotgun. Take one shot. Then run. Take another shot. Then run again. And so on. Don't take more than 2 shots, no matter how tempting it may be. It's just not worth the risk, as you won't have time. If one of those guys gets you on the ground, they'll all join in, and rip your armour and health in one sweep.

 

I found the shotgun to be slightly better than the colt, as it can take out more than one enemy with a single shot. But the colt has a better range, so try both out. Everyone has different tastes. (I didn't try the molotov method as mentioned above).

 

But again, and most importantly, shoot-move-shoot-move-shoot-move............

The easiest way to beat the Portland Chainsaw Masquerade is to get the colt 357 when u enter the ship. this will be the most effective weapon. When the mission starts take out the closest enemy to you. Start runnin around the room. When someone gets close to u jump and keep runnin. Jumping can be faster than runnin alone. So us them both. When u get rid of all the bad guys and its time to fight "the boss" when he enters the room hit him once with the colt, then run up to him and quickly change ur weapon to the chainsaw and finish him OFF! You should finish the mission with about half of your health as he will have time to get some shots off before dying!!

Yeah, you can find a Mac 10 north of the Car Crusher in Portland. Also if you're fireproof and manage to find Molotov Cocktails, then you're really in the clear.

The best melee weapon was the Katana you can get it in avenging angel missions but press circle fast to make a slice or just use running attack

i just made it to that mission and i was thinking, couldnt you stand in the middle of the room and use a machine gun, and use the analog stick to go in a circle to kill them? Just a thought !

I kept running them around in circles, When I got far away enough, I'd turn around and kill one and keep running around in circles, All around the warehouse untill none were left, Then when I battled it out with Vincenzo I hid behind the crates and took my time, He never even hit me

 

It's worth a try, I did it first time and never lost any health or armour

I use the shotgun for this. It's best to have at least 20 hidden packages so you can stock up on shotgun ammo before doing this. You can use the Python, but I prefer to keep the ammo because unless you've pulled one of the tricks to get to Staunton Island early, this is the only place I know about to get the Python.

 

Another thing to try is the flamethrower, but it may not be advisable unless you're fireproof. When the maniacs come, strafe them with a stream of flaming fuel. Watch them cook. Find the flamethrower on the roof of the fenced-in building across the street from Joey's garage in Trenton, and use the ramp in an alleyway nearby to get on it using a car or bike.

Personally I find using thrown weapons like Molotovs not so good for this mission because the camera in its overhead view instead of behind Toni, combined with the fact that the maniacs are always moving towards you, makes it hard to judge how hard to throw the explosive. But if you can place it well, anything explosive always works well against a cluster of chainsaw-wielding psychopaths

You could just stand in the bottom-left corner all day and throw molotoves if you were fireproof. That door doesn't open with the chainsaw men.

I went straight back and did the all 5 levels of Slash TV too using this method.

I didn't get the chicken suit though, which you're supposed to get according to the strategy guide

You have to do Slash TV another time to unlock the Cox Mascot Suit.

You can get the flamethrower in Trenton at the AM petrol building, near the payphone you use to access the street races. A pic is here:

You need to collect quite a lot of flamethrower ammo to complete all of the chainsaw missions though.

 

I personally used the awesome Trashmaster glitch to get to the second and third islands early and collected over 80 hidden packages, which caused the flamethrower to spawn at the Portland hideout.

 

You can become fireproof by doing the firefighter R3 mission in any firetruck. I recommend doing this because with a little patience it is actually not that hard, and being fireproof makes a number of missions and rampages much easier.

 

Getting extra health from the Punk Noodle mission also doesn't hurt.

When you try and reload you get owned..

 

For this mission, i used the Colt ( in the little hallway area to the right of the first hallway)

 

I stood in the middle, shot , rotated 90 degrees, repeat..

 

I did this mission on my 3rd go.

 

Also get an AK47 for the end with vinnie, just run up and blast him!

As i mentioned on a previous post, the easy way to do this mission (and fun to repeat) is to: do the fire missions first, so you'll become "fireproof", then get the flamethrower (see map location, across from where you start the mission, on a roof top. You'll need a bike to jump on the roof)Once you have the flamethrower and the mission starts, simply hold the fire botton down and spin in a circle (non stop)> After the last cut scene, you can still use the flamethrower to bake the guy!! Good luck!!

I got a sawed off shotgun at some point earlier on...

went to the police station

got in any cop cars that were there (5 shotgun shells each)

went back and saved

went back to the police station... rinse repeat etc.

stocked up a bunch of ammo

 

Took the fully stocked shotgun and I beat it fairly easily. I had been having ALOT of trouble beating it but I thought there were way more people than there were so I wasen't running around enough. Once I beat the chainsaws I was suprised thats all there was. Then I pulled out my AK-47 and just opened up on vinnie... Took care of that right quick.

how about stop beating around the bush, your given a chainsaw to kill the poeple with then use it, right when they come to saw ytou charge at them press O and saw them in half.
