Stuch
I atleast wanted a pink or 80's blue neon colored HUD. Something a little different. VCS is really starting to hold its own against anything else out there at the moment.

Ice Cold Bud
This is for you Jordan Do you guys think there will be underwater aquatic life in VCS or no? SA lacked sharks but had other marine life. VC only included sharks with no other wildlife. Also I heard once that there is a shark in VC that is like 10x the size of the other ones that hangs out in one area. I was too lazy too look thinking it was just some BS like the whole Bigfoot thing but have you guys ever heard about that? Also do you think VIC will be able to swim underwater? Anyway, yeah about the HUD. A couple of months ago, one guy hit very close to what it looks like. Here's the link to the post.

Vanilla Shake
The "R" on the radar is most likely Reni, because he/she is a film director, and in the game, you shoot commercials directed by he/she, and the "R" is at the film studios on Prawn Island. Sinful
I don't really like that weapon hud... Black is not very... Vice City. Apart from that, everything that article and this topic shows is awesome.
zeppelincheetah
Gone are the days of a boat governed by physics more suited to 4 wheeled vehicles on pavement, unaffected by wake, change in direction, or speed. Instead, general water physics will cause every waterborne vehicle to bob in the water, respond to changes in the current and be affected by the increased drag that a liquid imparts. See anything wrong with this? There were realistic water physics from day one, and IGN is making it sound like the physics were sh*tty. In GTA III the water physics were awesome, whenever a storm would pass the waves bounced real high and the boat would rock to and fro. I doubt the water will be that much better than the previous GTA's (if any different at all.) Damn IGN and their overexaggeration. Well, that's the way it is for all editorials, so it's not just IGN. But this sort of annoyed me. Airboats? YAY! That's something I was hoping for with VCS. I've actually been in an Air Boat before. They are noisy as hell! ybakker
actually, gta3 boats wouldnt move horizontally if there was a storm. sure it would bob up and down. ign says that if you ride a boat against the current in a storm, youll get a lot of resistence, compared to riding with the current. theyre saying that the current will affect direction. i dont think any gta simulated these effect up to now... GodBen
Also, the idea that boats cause their own wakes which affects other boats is a new idea. It certainly makes the idea of jet-ski races very interesting.

ybakker
anything BUT lazy! i like the weapon icons from SA and post-SA! i also like the slight pink health bar. i dont think there is a need for a better HUD. Rashon.
I think is lazy and you? Well, uh, I guess Rockstar made a new style different to the HUDs in GTA3 and Vice City. I guess San Andreas, Liberty City Stories, and Vice City Stories has a new style of HUD somewhat.

Royal55
i was thinking they were being a bit lazy too but i did notice a small difference between weapon slots of San andreas and Liberty city stories compared to vice city stories weapon slot and that was that the VCS weapon slot is a bit transparent(told you it was a small difference)
woozie92
Since LCS was released i was concerned about the punch icon being the same as in SA, and now i saw VCS hud...
rebalrouser
Ok Firstly 1. i think being very great and excellent have neglected the HUD, i was expecting it to be more....well vice city-ish 2. The lock, key hole thing, doesn't have to be a save point icon. Look at VC, the lovefist icon was a skull, malibu was apalm tree thing, maby this could be 1 of your extortion places? or robbery places 3."Taking advantage of the open world structure that Grand Theft Auto is famous for, many side missions now take place in the water. Players will be able to take part in various sporting activities. Vic, strong swimmer that he is, will be able to take fully exploit the waterways. Activities such as swimming events, boat and jet ski races are available for the player to take part in. There are also water-based rescue missions, if the player feels like being a good samaritan. Born Acorn
It isn't a Lock. It's an old Floppy Disk, but grey instead of black. Picture of what it represents Edited October 6, 2006 by Born Acorn
rebalrouser
well my first and thrid points still stand, so what do you all think about swimming contests? Seems a little odd but heck if your going to get money, why not?
mageezer
My question is: Where's the armour? Red is obviously health, right? And it looks as though that blue bar will be for oxygen when you're underwater. So where will the armour fit in?

Vanilla Shake
I didn't really like the HUDs for GTA III and VC. I did, however, like the HUDs from SA and LCS, and with that said, I'm lovin' the VCS HUD. TC718 / <629 / CF5
zeppelincheetah
It isn't a Lock. It's an old Floppy Disk, but grey instead of black. Picture of what it represents no, Vice City had a floppy disc. If it is a floppy disc it's a very poorly drawn one. I think this is something entirely different. It looks like a lock to me. And i'm an old fart so I dealt with floppy discs when I was in computer labs in school. I think it may be an icon of a prison. That would be sweet. rebalrouser
SA had a floppy disk so it can't be repeated (the save icons) i think it will be an extortion/protection or robbery place personally Edited October 7, 2006 by rebalrouser

He's on the jetski so light blue is armor. The Health Bar might be replaced when you are underwater, and as it goes down it reveals the health bar, eventually draining the health bar. It's better than SA's version as it allows less room to be taken up. Can't wait! I love the radar EDIT: Example: Edited October 7, 2006 by blackadder18
