VC1976JLN Posted December 10, 2006 Author Share Posted December 10, 2006 I am the Person who made this MOD ~VC1976JLN However if you read this entire thread you'll see I had some help from: Groo/Hyperion He edited the Mission Script that PLPYNTON created: Super CJ making his MOD "Super Hero In San Andreas" which you can find at www.ascendence.net, and my fellow AWO member Picolini created the cape model I used as well... (without those, Superman wouldn't be able to fly and who knows what cape would have looked like.) But as far as Superman MOD is concerned I am the sole decision maker here. However my doors are now open for anyone who likes this mod and a little experince with modding skins, models, mission scripts... like I said before ideas are great and are excepted, but that won't get you on this team... really hoping to hear from some of you interested in this mod to join up!! Hey and did you guys know that he can run super fast under water, well u have to take the hydra as far up as it can go in to the sky then you ditch it and when super man starts flying make him face straight down and he will fall into the water in an incredible speed and then most of the time he'll go right to the bottom and standup , has this been discovered or am i the first to find out. CacaPooPoo Posted March 18, 2007 Share Posted March 18, 2007 (edited) Heya, GREAT work!! I saw a video of your Superman on YouTube and actually went out and bought the PC version just for that. The only issue I'm having is getting Superman's super strength to work. I tried using that Ultimate Editor to install the superstrength.gsi file into the main GTA SA folder and that didn't do anything, so then I tried the Superstrength.zip and added the melee and weapon .dat's to the data folder, but nothing has worked. When I punch a car or somebody it's just like it would be normally. Is there something I need to do in the game to activate the super strength or should it just happen whenever Superman punches something? Again, thanks for any help and this mod is f'in awesome! Like the guy that said he changes in the pay and spray. lol This is the type of game people really want. Don't get me wrong this could not even have been done without the GTA engine. So PLPynton, and all mod coders designers you guys are the best! Thanks in advance! The coolest thing is how erie it is when you have hardcore gangsters walking up on you, killers! But your Superman! so they have a surprise coming. lol I love it. It's like it takes on a life of it's own, and what's more perfect than a Superhero coming to a basically warzone, where a Superhero would be needed. My brother also thought it was really cool, and he's played everything, but he said this just works because the original game designers meant for it to be a serious game, so when you put a Super character in a serious environment, you get a feeling that he needs to be there. How many games have superheroes in them but are too cartoony, all of them. Hey, has anyone seen a Greatest American hero mod around? In the T.V. shows TGAH all of the show took place in California, this would be perfect for that idea! Sorry to go on a hyper rant, but this is the best idea I've seen in years! Faster than a speeding locomotive! how on earth did you get the mod to work? i installed the textures and it crashed when i ran a new game. cant play as clark kent or superman. and im pretty positive im runnin 1.0. i think whoever made the script file needs to create missions for clark/kal-el. because i dont think the mod is compatible with any of the missions that come with the game. TOOLS NEEDED: IMG TOOL http://www.gtagarage.com/mods/show.php?id=63 okay step by step... The PLAYER FILES to replace in game... Open the imgtool. file open your "player.img" LOCATED: ROCKSTAR\GTA SAN ANDREAS\MODELS\"PLAYER.IMG FILE" once you see all the files in this folder... Hit F2 (find) type: afro.dff (enter) right click file choose replace. find the mod you unzipped open CLARK KENT BETA folder. select AFRO.DFF choose open. next Hit F2 (find) type afro.txd right click file choose replace. find the mod you unzipped open CLARK KENT BETA folder. select AFRO.txd choose open. repeat this method until you replaced all files in Clark Kent Beta Folder. Then do the same in the SHARED PARTS folder until they are all done! Now this is the part you choose which superman you want to install! You either install the "Classic Superman Folder" or "Superman Returns Folder" YOU CAN NOT INSTALL BOTH BECAUSE THEY SHARE SAME FILE NAMES. So continue with installing as you did above with imgtool. Once you Replace ALL the files from the: Clark Kent Beta folder Shared Parts folder "Classic Superman" or (NOT BOTH) "Superman Returns" folder In the IMGTOOL select "Commands" choose Rebuild Archive. Once it stops. Choose File Close. Then File Open. Now we are going to open your GTA3.IMG File LOCATED: ROCKSTAR\GTA SAN ANDREAS\MODELS\ "GTA3.IMG" once you see all the files in this folder... Hit F2 (find) Type: tags2_lalae.txd right click file choose replace. (when it opens up the window to find the file... Open the the Super Tags Folder ****NOW HERE'S ANOTHER PART OF CHOOSING SUPERMAN**** Depending on which Superman you installed earlier. The "Classic Superman" or "Superman Returns" THIS IS WHAT FOLDER YOU OPEN IN THE SUPER TAGS FOLDER AGAIN ONE OR THE OTHER IT IS A CHOICE. EACH FOLDER INSIDE SUPER TAGS CONTAIN THE EXACT FILES. YOU CAN NOT INSTALL BOTH. you open the folder of your choice. find the file: tags2_lalae.txd and choose open. repeat until you replace all files in the folder! once you replace the 9 tag files. In the IMGTOOL select "Commands" choose Rebuild Archive. Once it stops. Choose File Close. File Exit. NOW, Inside the unzipped Superman folder, locate the script folder. right click, copy. Paste inside your data folder. LOCATED: ROCKSTAR\GTA SAN ANDREAS\DATA yes overwrite. NOW, Inside the unzipped Superman folder, locate the loading screens folder. inside is the loadscs.txd copy and paste in your gta sanandreas txd folder. LOCATED: ROCKSTAR\GTA SAN ANDREAS\MODELS\TXD For Super Strength you may need this tool: (San Andreas Ultimate Editor) http://www.gtagaming.com/pafiledb.php?action=file&id=977 download and install. then double click super strength icon inside unzipper superman folder. select your gta san andreas folder where your gta_sa.exe is located. Location: Rockstar\gta san andreas\ That's it!!! It is completely installed!! Please read carefully, I know it's alot of files to replace, and if your new to mods it can be frustrating... I can't upload my gta3.img it's nearly 1gb. would take for ever to upload and download... please just go over all the steps carefully. and make sure you don't skip or miss one by accident... Good luck I hope this helps you fly the sky's of San Andreas!! i swear to god i followed all those steps perfectly, and when i start a new game, it hangs. all i see is a black screen where the "francis international airport: 1992" should be. sometimes, i cant switch back to windows so i end up havin to reboot. if i back up the files from the img files, then replace the modded files with the originals, the game refuses it and still hangs. i ended up havin to reinstall the game. but for some reason, its only txd and dff files that give me a problem. the script file works fine. so i can be "super gimp man" but thats it. there must be some versions of gta 1.0 that are incompatible with this mod. is it possible the files in the archive that say dff are supposed to be renamed to txd or vice versa?
