If anything is to take from this is something stinky is going on. could be a troll post, but there could a some stink.  just best to stay neutral with this situation. nobody knows for sure. The only thing to think about with the game informer "article" is why would they need an NDA to discuss something that was never released if they are going to talk about the dev from this time. 

 

 

All and all it's just a matter of waiting to see what is BS and what isn't BS only time will tell.  All I know is i wanted the version from the screenshots so bad, that midwest small town look from the concept art looked amazing.

These screenshots were from the original 2007-2009 version of Bully 2 I believe, so much that GTA IV cars are being used. Also on the journo side, the GameInformer journo has revealed it's just a Bully story. With a very reasonable Henderson call out too. Imagine tweeting about something you're "not absolutely confident of" when you're in journalism like apparently Henderson also is.

I think he's absolutely in the right and did nothing wrong. He's a writer for GI, who don't have any sort of history of leaking reveals and people figured he was teasing an article pretty quickly. His one potential mistake I suppose was not realising how rabid the R* community is in regards to this stuff but the fire was lit by Tom Henderson using his tweet to add credibility to his "scoop".

 

Honestly, not one of his R* scoops to date has led me to think he does anything but take info from others (particularly from within the community, as I mentioned above) and reword them and pass them off as his own. He clearly has had inside info on other games, so no discrediting him there, but R* leaks are a bit of a holy grail in the industry and this feels like a case of trying to run before you can walk. He's got nothing to back his word up (partly cause R* works at glacier speed, in fairness) but he always seems to have something to leak, and it seems to always come out around the time of some other info circling in the community.

 

Thisis the guy who described a BF trailer in detail before it was released, yet his R* info is "info is blurry, have to be vague". Bit sus lol.

Now that the GI guy responded of course Henderson is back as well. Same old MO for other R* related info from him, including the whole mess with GTA VI's "drawing". It just doesn't make any sense either, so the guy is known for COD and BF that do have other frequent leaks but suddenly he knows things about other companies especially R* too? Right. Not to mention, where's the GTA Online DLC leaks? If he knows so much about R*, why isn't he getting in on leaking stuff like that either? Whole games that not even the most respected people in the industry know about? Ugh.

 

It's all too convenient and I think he likes to take advantage of people's confirmation bias, it's just predatory. But this is a tired discussion already from the GTA VI topic so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

the point about sites covering scoops but being silent about x scoops is interesting though, considering it might be nda related... although i'm not sold on it being sequel as much as another project

I do agree. All I'm saying is, using the number 2 is going to make people come to very obvious conclusions. And you really can't blame anyone for linking the two together. Bully and 2 instead of 'to' in the same sentence. You have to be pretty oblivious not to expect people to presume = Bully 2, when typing out that tweet. Just like how people see the number 6 and they all presume it means GTA VI, the number 2 while talking about Bully will set people off in the same way. Surely he had to know that, right?

 

Again, I'm highly sceptical of anything Tom says, regarding Rockstar. But I've known him for years, back when I still cared about Battlefield. So I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt and see what happens. I'm just being sensible and level headed about it all. It's probably nothing, but at the same time, when someone writes a tweet the way the GI dude did, I just don't blame anyone for thinking it was about Bully 2. New or old.
