I'd really like this RDR3 to be cancelled and resources put into Bully 2 and GTA 6 instead.

I've played Bully recently and haven't been compelled to continue on with it. I mean maybe I'm just a little past it? Probably would have enjoyed it upon release. I'll keep going, see how it goes. Just that it's not really top of the list.

Looking back on the beta, I like to think the game went through four different styles, like how Swegta showed the Beta UI. The following are mostly guesses and speculation.

 

Style A (Late 2002-2003?): A simple, cartoony style that captured the childhood feeling of school days. Not much is known about this point in development, but it could be that it was the style they used before Rockstar came in. It could be where the bulletin board style was used. It may have also been that the Vice City engine was used at that time, as names for the cars from that game appear in the handling file making it a very old leftover.

Style B (2003?-mid 2004?): A darker, grittier yet still-cartoony style that took things over-the-top. The Sota Yuyama renders, beta Bullworth Academy uniforms and the David Byun Locker UI design were likely used at that time. Only one screenshot of the open-world is shown, but obsucured by the menu UI. (It could be that Amy's name was changed to Beatrice at that time.) The work-in-progress San Andreas engine was likely used at that time.

Style C (Late 2004-mid to late 2005): Not as cartoony as last time, but more "prized". The Jared Fry gallery of beta characters (with underwear models of girls) were likely used and the David Byun/Andrew Wood buildings. The world also started to turn more realistic. Also, Jack Thompson stepped in and the controversy starts.

Style D (Late 2005-2006 release): A regular, yet humorous deception of school life with some dark undertones. It was also the point the game started getting watered down to fit the PlayStation 2 hardware, and the ill-fated Xbox version. Also, last-minute minor changes because Rockstar.

When you think about it, it all somehow fits all the jigsaw pieces together.

Maybe they'll do what they did with GTA V and Max Payne 3? As in announce GTA 6 before Bully 2 releases to increase it's sales. Just like when they announced GTA V just before Max Payne 3 released.

I remember most of the comments of MP3's trailers back then were just "f*ck you c* give us gta v instead !! ! ! nobody cares about that stupid sad pain guy!...". MP3 in general suffered from sh*tty marketing. I hope they won't do it again with Bully 2 (if they ever release it lol)

Maybe they have a backend system that automatically creates a new game profile page based off titles published into a specific database for a major retailer. They would of course have to be given access to that and considering how big they are, it's plausible. Weird name though, possible a working title if it ends up being true.

The subtitles really f*cking weird to the point it makes you wonder where they got it from, but I'm going with this is just someone messing around and it accidentally got put live, stranger things have happened.

 

I doubt we'll ever see Bully 2 at all to be honest.

I'm with you in the camp of 'Bully 2 ain't gonna happen'. Dan Houser might have spoken about an interest in making a sequel, but it doesn't mean it should translate to a full time project.

Anyone can come up with ridiculous titles, especially magazine editors, this sounds like a placeholder to me, as I said, they probably have Half Life 3 and GTA VI in there too. Probably just someone playing around, plus, with RDR2 being reserved for Sony partnership, no way Bully 2 would be announced now as a PS4 exclusive!

It better be fake, I WANT to play the next Bully. I LOVE Bully, sure the story isn't as good as RDR or GTA IV but it is a fun game.
