This run for the 100% took 19 days 6 hours and 6 minutes and was achieved by 14 players - round 7 took about 30 days (14 players), round 4 19 days (and 1 hours 38 min - 10 players) & round 3 23 days (11 players).

 

Seems the holiday season is over, we only missed the record of round 4 by 4.5 hours. I had the impression that the interest dropped rapidly after the End Of The storyLine and fewer players did the races to finish off the 100%. The no. of turns and the average %-per-turn remain rather constant so I suppose we can confirm this as a direct result of the 1-named-mission-per-turn rule.

Edit - about this Infinite Run thingy: Seems it occured during this run by girishb_86. There was some confusion about a non-working save file in the following postings, maybe JAJ and girishb_86 can clarify what happened there. Anyway, that's the stage where the Infinite Run got lost...

Good investigation job, but it actually can't be pinpointed quite that closely unless you happen to have some saves that weren't in the archive. Working solely from the archive, I can only make the following determinations:

 

Infinite sprint was working in save 33, Body Harvest, which was JAJ's turn. (28.88%)

We don't know about the Against All Odds turn, completed by gtagino (29.41%)

We don't know about the NRG-500 turn, completed by rubregg (30.48%)

We don't know about the Local Liquor Store turn, completed by San Anzeas (31.02%)

We don't know about the Wu Zi Mu turn, completed by The_Raven (31.55%)

Infinite sprint was not working in save 34, Small Town Bank, which was girishb_86's turn. (32.09%)

 

So the problem could have occurred in any of the 4 unknown turns as well as on girishb's turn. If anyone happens to have copies of the unknown saves, that would help narrow things down further. Also, if any of the players of those 5 turns recalls anything strange happening or has any clue on what could have caused this, please let me know either here or by PM. I'm beginning to get concerned that my modifications are causing these oddities since we've now had a game where the barriers failed to come down and a game where infinite sprint mysteriously disappeared; if I can't come up with a reasonable explanation, I may have to start scaling back the changes to try and find out what's wrong.

 

BTW, regarding the stats there's actually no difference between CCPD's "1.06%" and my "1.07%". The different numbers there are due to round-off error. Every mission point completed is exactly 1/187 or approximately 0.53476% and so technically, we both accounted for slightly less than 1.07%. Maybe meaningless, yeah, but I like to be precise. tounge.gif

Of course you're right - I only *assumed* all the save files would be in the archive & didn't double-check in the topic blush.gif

Hehehe, that's of course also right. ...and here I actually *knew* what I was doing... When I first did the stats I thought about preciseness and rounding errors etc. but then I decided to go for 2 digits & simply take the values the game gives because after all the whole percentage thing is totally unfair to start with (buying a save house = same % as 3 races of Chiliad challenge) & I don't see it as a competition anyway.

 

[Also, doing it this way enables me to "punish" players who forget to put completion % in their postings by giving them a 0.53 rather than a 0.54 score. anuj_cop.gifdevil.gif ]

 

But seriously, just like with all the stats in general, you should always be aware of what information you *really* get out of them. And in our case the only true information is who played a lot (no. of turns) and who didn't, the rest is possibly as much fun as it is bollocks xmas.giflol.gif

Well, I really can't say what exactly caused the Infinite Sprint to not work.

Actually, I can only clarify that I had noticed this some time back during the game.....but I was too lazy to run SAMA and cross-check. So, I simply assumed that the Burglary missions had not been done and hence there was no infinite sprint. It was only when rubregg mentioned in one of his posts that I understood it was a bug/glitch though I never heard of such a thing happening before!!! It was only then that I ran SAMA which said that the Burglary missions had been done. However, the Infinite Sprint still didn't exist.

Still the good thing was that it did not hamper the progress of the game.

 

About the non-working save file:

I don't exactly know what the confusion was about??? I don't convert the save file because I have the v2 script files, so (I assume) there is no need to convert the save file. So, like San Anzeas, even I didn't understand what exactly JAJ meant in this post.

 

I hope this sort of thingy does not happen in the next chain games.
