M14a-Mclaren
I have 2 GTA:SA installs, on different hard drivers one modded one stock. Recently they both have stopped working completely. When I try to run either exe they just come up with a illegal operation right away before anything loads. I thought it was pretty weird that both would do this, anyone know what could cause this? crazyanurag
have you changed any graphics configurations on your PC? like a new gfx card, or new drivers, or maybe even a new monitor? if yes, try deleting the gta_sa.set file from your GTA San Andreas User Files directory...you might wanna try that regardless of any changes you've made, as well... also, make sure that your disc is in good shape, and that there aren't too many scratches...if there are, that might be a problem, but i doubt it... finally, make use of the button...it can be a good friend ... Maynardo
I've got the same problem I've perused this board far and through, and still can't find a solution.... looks like a lot of people are reporting the same problem in the stickied techincal help thread. UGH!!!!!! I have GTA:SA 2nd Edition too, so the 1.01 patch won't work. wtf
Maynardo
Well I recently fixed my problem. I did two things differently: 1) Did a full install instead of minimum. 2) Updated my graphics card drivers. Despite being on a laptop, I was able to use Nvidia's most current drivers after careful research of the site: http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/ which contains drivers and modified INFs to work for mobile GPUs.
