Kayze
I can't seem to get into the advanced settings on the graphics screen, so if anybody could send me a copy of their config file at appropriate settings i'd be very grateful. At the moment, SA runs very choppily. I want to downtone some of the settings so it can run smoothly with little slowdown. Here's what I know about this laptop Intel Pentium 4 2.00ghz cpu with Startstep techonology (clock speed changes with power availibility and demand) 256mb of RAM Can't figure out what kind of graphics card it has, but it is capable of running vice city smoothly. balmung03
i'm not quite sure if the forum rules allow us to share that file, but how are you unable to access the advanced settings? does it not allow you to click the advanced line in the options menu when you pause the game? if your settings are kinda funky, try deleting the gta_sa.set file (in the User Files folder, you probably know where it is) and restarting the game, as this will create another .set file with all default information, and should reallow you to select the advanced options. balmung03
did you try deleting your .set file and trying it again? i'm just trying to find out what kind of problem you have.

balmung03
that is quite strange... i would love to help you, but unfortunately i am unsure if providing this file to you would get me in trouble. alas, there are no mods/admins on currently so i cannot ask them if it's okay, so i'll have to wait until one logs in to ask. pdescobar
balmung, I'm fairly certain exchanging the settings file isn't a problem (you could always just PM it and nobody would know ) but that won't necessarily help. Same thing happened to me. I suggest using jacob's advanced options trainer which lets you alter those settings from another program while the game is running. Changing resolution is a bit of a pain since you don't really know the details of the settings, but it certainly gets the job done if that screen crashes you. GTA3Freak-2001
Yeah the setting file is fine just like save games, there's no problems there.
balmung03
balmung, I'm fairly certain exchanging the settings file isn't a problem (you could always just PM it and nobody would know ) true, i suppose; however, if this is like the forum for my high school robotics team i used to administrate when i was still in high school (i actually still have that status, lol), then the admins can look at PM logs, so i still wouldn't take the chance. @Kayze: if the program pdescobar posted the link to doesn't work for you, post back here or pm me the options you want, and i'll create the .set file for ya and send it. @GTA3Freak-2001: i thought it was ok, but i just wanted to make sure; i even sent a pm to MyMothersMySister (a super admin) before your and pd's posts just to confirm it was okay. i guess he doesn't need to look at it anymore.
