I'll try to be short and to summarize the mod duration of more than one year in some lines ^^: 1.What's SRt ? It means Sanandreas Re-Textured. It is at least the initial name of the project which the goal is of retexture any piece/object of Sanandreas by textures of much higher quality. 2. Since when this MOD exist? Since August 2005, i.e. nearly one whole year. 3. Why release the MOD into parts? Because I'm alone on the project, and to put end to end parts of the MOD, which is released with the wire of time, is a pledge of quality for the Mod, as well as stability. Historical of the Mod : Under the Name - SRt2: ----------------------- - 24/07/2005, 16:59: First pics of the Mod. The version you see on the screenshots on this topic will be released on September the 1st I know it's a bit complicated Apart from that, you'll have new screens later today, to show some of the buildings in Ventura that has been redone. Because the textures did'nt changed when im driving around. I use the Texture tool from www.gta-tools.com 1 I added the txd's from the following folders to gta3.img and rebuilted the archive county-LS county-SF Env LosSantos Sanfierro LODs GENERICs The program should replace them automaticly. 2 Then i replaced the files in the models folder, from the folder Ajouter Dans Models 3 I didn't install the Detailed Radar mod, because i only wanted to use the new textures for the envirement. If i forgot something or made a mistake please tell me what i did wrong. Maby you can add a english readme because the one in the file is french. Ash_735 Posted August 14, 2006 Share Posted August 14, 2006 I'm assuming this mod requires MORE than a 2.4Ghz CPU and 512MB Ram And a Lot better Graphics Card (GeForce 5700 is what I'm using) because The game is alright but whenever I get into a High detailed area in los Santos The game just freezes and crashes. I remember seeing some old screenshots of a very early stage of this mod in some other website (GTAS I think), but then I lost track of it. I can only imagine how time consuming it was to get all the right textures for this massive retexturing work, let alone the pain of finding all the files in the game and to identify each and every texture. I'm not sure if my PC will be able to handle this, though. While I'm running a 2.8 Ghz CPU, I'm still stuck with 512 Mb of RAM and a seriously outdated GeForce FX 5200 video card, so the game, even in its original state, won't run at anything higher than 25 fps. Anyway, I'll download the old version of the mod and see what happens, I'll let you know. About this mod, the only criticism I have is about some of the roads. They all look a bit grainy, which really fits most of the areas of the map, but in some locations (e.g. highways) it should have more of a slick look. I would also agree that 1024x1024 textures is a bit overkill as they don't look twice better than 512x512 textures, but do take twice the time to load. Just a question: when you say that all vehicles will be retextured, I assume you're replacing the shared textures inside the vehicle.txd file, am I right? EDIT: Well, I tested it and it worked fine for a while... I managed to play for like 2 or 3 minutes with no lag (at least not more than usual)but then the game freezed because the PC was running out of memory. But then all of a sudden the land dissapeared and came back in a few objects at a time time to only dissapear a few seconds later,[ The WhiteBug made its entry !!! How can you call this a final there is not even a way in the readme or anywhere else to reduce this massive whitebug with this texturemod! Also I noticed some minor bugs but thats nothing compared to the whitebug! I wonder if the creators can play there own creation fine, because I certainly can't !... Venturas). The only down side is the vehicle.txd, The Radar and the ped skins, I've replaced vehicle.txd with a one I edited and replaced the radar with the old one but apart from that, Great Work! Also, my MP5 wont show up - and when I shoot it the game crashed. Does it have anything to do with your new textures? And did you add to the pack realistic sounds?
