GTA3Freak-2001 Posted August 7, 2006 Share Posted August 7, 2006 I think you totally misunderstood me mate, Devhook is a program that lets you emulate higher firmwares but you need to be on 1.5 firmware to use it. It lets you say for instance emulate 2.0 so you can play LCS and use CD, or play Loco Roco which only works on 2.7 firmwares. If you have 2.7 then you are stuck with no CD and no way of downgrading so please don't upgrade to 2.7 unless you know the situation. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

NOTE: YOU CAN ONLY DOWNLOAD DEVHOOK IF YOU CURRENTLY HAVE FIRMWARE 1.5 Still not right, even with Devhook you do not under any circumstances upgrade to anything else other then 1.50 or else Devhook itself won't work. Devhook is used to load other firmwares which you create from the firmware files. Even if you emulate 2.71 the Cheat Device will not work you need to emulate 2.0, 2.5 or 2.6 for both LCS and the CD to work. The beauty is if you have games that need 2.71 firmware then you can load the 2.71 firmware through devhook and play those other games. If you want to go back to 1.5 and thus go to 2.0 then you have to reset your PSP and it will be back to 1.5 and you can then load 2.0 firmware through devhook. Yes the demo needs it but the actual game doesnt (the game only needs firmware 2.00 realy but its just to make you upgrade). P.S. I don't know much of homebrew and exploits but what I was thinking is that you maybe can make a file that you must put in the PHOTO folder and if you open this file it restarts the PSP (Gta Lbc must be in the psp) with the cheatdevice. If you have a patched umd, There is no hope. yes, they are trying to crack firmwares above 2.6. IF you have 2.6, you can use the cheatdevice fully. If you have 2.6, you can downgrade to 1.0, and emulate 2.6, or 1.5 If you have 1.0, you cannot play gta If you have gta, and a firmware bewtween 1.5 and 2.6, and its not working, your umd is patched and you should give up for a while. its that simple. there is just no way to do it. the new firmware built a wall that pretty much ruined everyone, all the sites died, and owners got shafted...that simple Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
piisyourffriend Posted September 18, 2006 Share Posted September 18, 2006 hellomoto, allow me to corect all the false info you have stated in that post. 1. they are trying to crack fermware versions 2.8 and 2.81. 2.7 and 2.71 have already been cracked. 2. as far as i know, devhook is a 1.5 only aplication. 1.0 is not what you want to use to run it. with a 1.5 firmware psp you can emulate any firmware up to 2.71 3. playing on a 1.0 psp is not posible, this is true. you were right about that. but why does anyone have 1.0 when 1.5 has everything. 4. about the new firmware building a wall. no. through a new exploit found it is possible to run some homebrew on firmwares as high as 2.8. there have even been a few downgrades done succesfuly on 2.7 (and i think, but don't quote me on it, 2.8) psps, tho it's not all that often that the downgrader worked. i beleave it was a 1 in ten chance that it would succed and the rest of the times nothing happened. for information on homebrew on firmware higher then 2.6, go to psp-hacks.com and read the news posts from about a week ago. maybe farther. also look for info on the downgrader. this post was not ment to flame anyone, so do not take it as such. it was ment simly to get news out about some developements that haven't seemed to make it to this comunity yet.
