I love it really and I can´t stand people bashing it going "There are no good games besides LCS..." If you ever got your hands on Lumines, Wipeout or LocoRoco, you´ll love this handheld too. On Updating: I just updated to 2.6 because of LocoRoco and I´ll update to any firmware for VCS, the games is going to kick ass, so it´ll be worth it. I think booster is waiting until the games released at the end of the year for the christmas rush come out, that way sony can't put out a new firmware and stop them from playing. and anyways, I have a psp, and will probably never leave 1.5, and if I have to the highest I will go is 2.6. I'll probably just pick up a new psp off of ebay if I have to. you do know that sony is releasing two new firmware updates before december, umm i cant remember when i think it is is september and october, first one i think has the ps1 emu and camera stuff and the second one is gps and voip i cant quite remember what they where, and if this games requires 2.8 and devhook aint emulated it by then, i will stay on 1.5 and either rip the game and modify the iso to play on 2.71 if that is possible with 2.8 prx's and stuff or i will use my bros psp as his is 2.8 and he hardly ever uses it Edited August 7, 2006 by Gta--UK Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

topdogkiller Posted August 7, 2006 Share Posted August 7, 2006 i havent downgraded because i kind of felt it could f*ck up my psp though alot of people have done it. i have 2.6 so i don't really care. if vcs would upgrade to 2.7 i would actually give up homebrew. But thank god it's not upgrading to 2.7 rockstar probably doesn't carwhat ony thinks about homebrew, i bet they just patched lcs so sony would shut up. It would be great if R* finds a way to put multiplayer on the PS2 version of Vice City Stories, thats basically the only way I'll be able to try it out apparently. either way, I'm getting VCS for PSP and PS2. I certainly hope I don't have to lose cheatdevice, that thing practically made GTA VCS for me, so brilliant. Pat Posted August 8, 2006 Share Posted August 8, 2006 (edited) I highly doubt it will require 2.8 It would be increadibly easy to just run it off 2.0 But then they've got Sony breathing down their necks, so they may use 2.8 anyway. It's not up to Sony what firmware they use, but Sony can be pretty convincing. Sony could pull their funding if R* pisses them off Edit: Also, Paul, Edison cannot put the CheatDevice on 2.7 and above. He has stated that it is IMPOSSIBLE. When will you guys get it?! THE CHEAT DEVICE IS NOT POSSIBLE ON 2.7 AND ABOVE. EDISON HAS STATED THIS HIMSELF. IT - IS - NOT - POSSIBLE - AND - WILL - NOT - HAPPEN. I've tried out the CheatDevice before and it pretty much made LCS for me, but I think I'll get much more fun out of VCS than I did out of LCS, probably because I prefer Vice City over Liberty. So I won't mind having to upgrade if I have to. Oh, and I don't really know much about who's in charge about which Firmware games have to use, but if Sony have the biggest say in it, then it'll most likely run on the latest one, 2.8. Gta--UK Posted August 8, 2006 Share Posted August 8, 2006 well i did a bit of searching yesterday and found out that the 2.70 update came out way back in april (i didnt know it came out that far back lol) and it is now august, thats 3 months ago 2.70 came out and there are no games (except demos) that require 2.70 and 2.71 came out on the 1st of june which was about a month and a week ago, so another 2 months from now it will be october and theorectically there would be no games that require 2.71 yet so gta vcs must either be 2.70 or 2.71 as its late october it is released Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
