PARADOXON
balmung03
altavista's babel fish comes up with this translation for what you said: Point to a coincidental as I the inscription to large strassenschilder to change can, the texture of the letters I found, but not where e.g.: "air haven" stands. There the texture of the writing I changed purely coincidental (particle.txt/roadsignfont) and am saemliche letters and arrows which you on describing see. Therefore do not have the large ones describe an own texture which one also noticed if one such a sign in the editor platziert, he remains unlabelled!!! Thus it MUST stand somewhere!!! but where??? I scanned "GXT" to Ðateien all this. In addition I scanned MissionBuilder (for Skripte) with the map editor (Med), TXÐ editor, IMG editor, to find but nix. My project is all Umzudeut and describes is the only one that I to hang remains!!! There are only 3 to 4 describing types, last also to complex each sign to provide individually, because of storage location. In the map editor are all also UNFORTUNATELY describe unlabelled. Perhaps last also still another suggestion the Tool for it to provide (for that that it can). There is not now already almost everything for GTA SA only that It lasts very beautifully if meaningful contributions to follow became, thanks. This doesn't really help me to understand what you're trying to say. Hopefully someone else can come along and understand it better, but if you could try retyping your post in english, i would have a better chance of helping. i'm not trying to insult you in any way, and i wish i could read german, but unfortunately i cannot. pdescobar
If I had to guess, I would say the original poster is trying to change some names on roadsigns. He/she seems to have checked the GXT which is what I would have suggested first, but since I can't read much German this is just speculation. Regardless, it's I'm pretty sure it's a modding question and a decent translation to English would be mighty helpful.
PARADOXON
NOTE: MY ENGLISH IS BAD Did anybody know how can edit labeling the roadsign. Not the texture, that i can. I've found the texture (letter) from roadsign pure coincidental and i changed it. Later in game i've seen my changes on the roadsign. I would translate the titling (how or where long your drive) from roadsign in to german. e.c. Airport = English to Flughafen = German, you know? My question is. where is it written this? That is'nt found in .gxt-file (complete checked), MapEditor (blank roadsigns. not titling) main.scm. Sorry for my bad english (autodidact). Thanks for responds. I would like a pic upload from my pc, but how. German is easy, man for everyone that it can.... balmung03
I would like a pic upload from my pc, but how. this i can help with: simply press the prt scr/sysrq button (near scroll lock and F12) while playing the game and your screen shows what you want shown. then pause the game, and open up microsoft paint. go to edit, and paste, and your screenshot will be shown. then simply save the file in some format, probably .jpeg/.jpg, .gif, and .bmp. alternately, use the camera in the game to take a picture of what you want to show. the picture will be saved in your User Files folder under gallery. once you have the picture, go to any image hosting site (http://www.imageshack.us is what I use, but there are others; just search google for 'image hosting') and then use the information they give you to put the picture here either as a blown up picture, thumbnail, or direct link. PARADOXON
THAT IS NOT TRUE ---> RIFLEMAN (R1fl3m4n) IT MUST BE DEFINIED !!! The sa.exe is only a loader for this game. I played with 2 different sa.exe (org & treated), but the problem was same. It is all defined, i can't belive that is it in sa.exe. No no no.... DexX
That is correct, it is NOT hardcoded/stored in gta-sa.exe. The text is stored in the model file (*.dff). See pic below. You can view the text with either Renderware Analyze, or a hex editor. you'll need a hex editor to actually change the text. You'll have to find out which model the sign is on first though. PARADOXON
... hmmmm. I've load with a hexeditor (hexworkshop) and can't found titling. I work more as 6 yaers with hexedit and more as 16 years total. You can see that i can use this tool. Hexedit hasn't been change over the years. Is my english comprehensible ??? Edited August 8, 2006 by PARADOXON
DexX
Renderware Analyze (RWA) Its important to note that if you open a DFF file in RWA, you'll need to understand the section types, so you know what to look for. This topic covers some of the SA-specific sections, including street sign text. The section types are identified by a number and labeled in the program. In this case, SA is storing several types of 2d effects, like lights, particles, and street sign text, in section type 0253F2F8. If the dff your looking at does not contain a section type with this number, it does not have any 2dfx on it. See my previous screenshot for a reference image of one that does, vgngamblsign1.dff. That should hopefully get you going down the right path. Your english seems to be understandable so far.
PARADOXON
GREAT !!!! THANKS ... but i can't really change value!!! I've follws instruction absolutly,I've changed "Miscellaneous"-sector, you can see it on pic. Can you give me a zip from your "ini" or better the whole pogramm?? please.... That must be work your programm, can i get it?? STATUS : ...wait of response!
DexX
Steve M created the program. If you want to be able to edit the data right from RWA, he's the man to pester As for the "unknown data", thats because no version of the program, even mine, is programmed to "decode" the information. The only difference between my copy of the program, and yours, is i changed a few of the names in the .ini file. When i click on that same section with my copy of the program, i also get the "Data format unknown" message, just like you. Your "2dfx [R*]" is exactly the same as my "GTA Light" section, except for the name, thats it. Uploading my ini, or program wouldn't help you at all. These steps were just to show you where the data is located in the file. Like i said before, you'll need a hex editor to actually change ithe data. PARADOXON
is this content only editable with hex?? in hex i can't change the length of word, that is no good. german words are different in length than the origin. e.g.: AIRPORT = FLUGHAFEN in hex = FLUGHAF not longer, that looks no good... when i insert letters, will came a checksums error, or? give it not a other way to edit this than with hex. NOTE : you've me really help until here, THANKS ... in germans forum didn't gave a answer. I'll look Steves HP.....

steve-m
Steve M created the program. If you want to be able to edit the data right from RWA, he's the man to pester Hmm, maybe if you could help me find the rest of the 2dfx types, and the correct data types for all of them (especially the lights look strange to me), I might try to get a 2dfx editor working, either stand-alone or as part of RWA. Unless someone else already started working on this?
PARADOXON
Jo Danke STEVE nochmal fuer die Hilfe.
