I REALLY want to play vice city online, but i have no clue on how to, and i need help. ive already installed the program, but im stuck from there on...can anyone help me? offthewall Posted August 6, 2006 Share Posted August 6, 2006 After you have installed vc-mp, you should launch the program from inside you're Vice City directory eg."\program files\rockstargames\grand theft auto vice city" because that's where it might be after installation. Then when you click on that a box will pop up and insert this 193.28.153.209 in the IP part and 5192 in the other box, then put your nickname or username or whatever you call it in that other box and dont worry about the password because you don't need it for that server. That's little whitey's server, "I know it works because I just used it", and then you click launch or play or whatever you see there to the right. Hope that works for 'ya. offthewall Posted August 6, 2006 Share Posted August 6, 2006 (edited) I'm not sure why it's lagging, but it might have something to do with you're internet connection, the amount of processes running in the background (get at least 256mb of ram, if you don't already have that), or if you have other mod's installed. It's best to run VCMP with a fresh installation of Vice City. Also make sure you're using version 1.0 of the GTA-VC.exe, I dunno if that will account for the lagging but give it a try. If you're wondering how to check, just remember if you updated the program to Version 1.1, with Rockstar's Official Patch, or if you're version of Vice City is somewhat new. If you recall that you have version 1.1, you can surf the web and look for a link to the Version 1.0 No-CD patch. The patch will downgrade the .exe and make it compatible.
