balmung03 Posted August 5, 2006 Share Posted August 5, 2006 yeah, we can't give you a link on here, since doing that is against forum rules (i'd try to lay low for a while, the mods might be watching you... jk. just know that the downgrade is something the higher-ups don't like to hear being discussed. myself, i don't rightly know where to get the patch, i would have suggested google, but if you can't find it that way, i guess i can't help. sorry. balmung03 Posted August 5, 2006 Share Posted August 5, 2006 i think it has something to do with how R* released v2.0 because of legal issues, and b/c the patch restores it to 1.0, it's like going around what R* did, which may or may not cause other legal issues to rise. i mean, if they release v2.0 and we can simply download something to turn it back to 1.0, did they really do anything? some 'legal' team may think it's not good enough that the change can be undone, and it might cause R* more problems, and since we respect the company, we don't want to get them into any trouble, and therefore don't discuss the patches. kinda like the same reason why the hot coffee mod can be found almost nowhere now, since the creators of the mod are saying they don't want it to be hosted anywhere anymore out of respect for R*, since that mod started the whole slew of trouble. hope that clears it up, i apologize to the mods if it seems like i'm acting like one, and i hope this isn't bordering on hijacking the thread or something. Consider it like a No-CD Patch, it gets around the CD Check which Rockstar put in for obvious reasons. Rockstar no matter how much we hate it have put in a protection into the 2.0 versions of the game that stops modding and we must respect that. balmung03 Posted August 7, 2006 Share Posted August 7, 2006 can u send it to me too my e-mail is [email protected] this isn't supposed to be discussed on here. if you want to tell him to send it to you if he finds it, it'd be better to e-mail him, as then the moderators/admins here wouldn't know. all i can say is that if you have v2.0, you'll have to learn to live with it. i mean, i own the ps2 version as well as pc, and v2.0 on pc is almost identical with ps2. i find nothing wrong with that game, as modding things just makes the game a little bit more fun, but the game itself should be fun enough to play over and over and never get sick of.
