Anyway, he's from Chicago, and I actually saw one of his first pro fights. Funny thing is, he got demolished in one round by a journeyman named Ed Humes (record at that time: 4-31-1) . That's why I thought it was kind of weird that ESPN would pick a guy who got destroyed by such a bum... Burning-Ice Posted August 4, 2006 Share Posted August 4, 2006 Cisneros already lost..the only reason I don't like The Contender much is because of the edited film of the fights, they add sound effects to the punches which just drive me crazy..especially when a punch barely lands and you hear it as if it landed flush. I hate how they always flash to the boxer's wives/sons every 10 seconds as well, I mean what the hell, yeah I know he is fighting for his family, you guys made that very clear. Overall it is a good show and good to publicize boxing but honestly, most of these guys are past their prime and none of them are really that talented prospects, the only real talented one is Walter Williams. Big Fish Posted August 5, 2006 Share Posted August 5, 2006 I like the show and watch it a lot. My favorite boxer is probably K-9. He went out on the first fight and shocked everyone. Yeah i have noticed the sound effects in the punches and it is really annoying. I think it is a very good show though. Who was the last person eliminated? The way they edit the fights, they always show the good parts so the fights are always exciting. I liked K9 even before he fought the first fight, he was a pretty big prospect until he got knocked out against Sechew Powell (there was a double knockdown in that fight). Bellato ain't anything special, my top 3 picks for the winner are Walter Wright, K9, and Steve Forbes...I like Norberto Bravo, he is a really cool guy but he isn't the most skilled, but he is more of the brawler, slugger type. He is very lucky that Bellato chose to fight him because both of them like to slug giving Bravo a better chance then against a more boxer type like Walter Wright.
